SO much theft goes on in these storage units. Do not waste your time. YOUR BELONGINGS ARE NOT SAFE HERE, your lock will be broken and your belongings will be stolen, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They will also go out of their contract and raise their prices without telling you, this place is full of crooks and they allow thief’s to break into units like no other.
The location and access hours are good. The downside is they raise rates twice a year. I started paying around $110 per month and it quickly ballooned to $250 per month before I stopped. I would not recommend this place if you’re possibly going to store something long term
Another customer changed my lock, when I brought it to managements attention they said it’s not there lock and yet they still won’t open the door. Right in the middle of my move public storage wants me to wait 2 or 3 days until they can resolve the issue… leaving me with no where to put my belongings and locked out of all of my other stuff. Very inconsiderate to not make this more of a priority

This place is really hard to get out of,
It forces you to be in close proximity to the exit and use a code to allow the exit gate to open. I went here to help a friend move stuff into their new storage unit and was unable to exit the facility and we didn't know why because they sent me the exit code, then sent me a new exit code and neither worked.
They had to physically return to the storage unit facility to finally allow me to exit. Huge waste of time at a really poorly designed facility.
Also the roads are really uneven so be warned if you choose this storage unit company

I would never reccomend this location. Terrain is terrible, they raise your fees two- three times a year and there is no security. I have had a unit here for two and a half years. On June 22nd everything was fine with my unit however three weeks later I went to get something from my unit and my lock had been changed. I had to wait until they opened the next day only to find that my belongings had been stolen. Dealing with their insurance is difficult especially since some items cannot be replaced and was purchased over 30 years ago. Only has one camera at the entrance. I moved to a knew facility with multiple cameras and only one gate.

Super disappointed. We signed almost 2 years ago at 175 dollars. Consistently, every 4-6 months we would get a letter saying the price was increasing. In a two year span, we have been raised from 175, to 350 for the same exact unit. There are no frills with this place, it’s just a metal box. Not climate control, security cameras only at the front of the place. We are moving spaces rhis month. We are not staying another 4 months so we can pay 400 dollars for our same unit. Extremely unprofessional.

My last few visits have been some of the best experiences I have had at a storage facility, thanks to Christina. She is so pleasant and always going above and beyond to be helpful, making sure I feel important. Been a customer for 3 months and everything went well till two weeks ago I go to my storage unit and find a different lock put on by the company?? I’ve checked with the front desk and they said they put it there but have no idea why. And the manager is on vacation, I’ve tried calling multiple times with voicemails and no call backs. The office hasn’t been open during business hours since the first time I went in. What’s going on with this place?
At first it seemed like a good deal when the charge was $260 per month for a 12x30. But in the price just kept going up to where we were paying $420 for no apparent reason. And I was very unhappy with how much moisture pooled up on our possessions, dripping in through the cracks, again with no explanation when I asked them. Most irritating is that they "don't pro-rate last month's rent" when we tried to move out and couldn't make it happen before the end of the month due to extenuating circumstances. They charged us the full month's rent even though we left within the first three days of the last month. But of course they were okay prorating first month's; Not cool . Luckily our spot was right by the exit so it was easy to get a big truck in but many of the units were in very bumpy tight curvy areas. I guess you get what you pay for... until they bump the prices up. 👎
I had given up on expecting any level of customer service from pretty much any business lately. Even if you get help it's no help, BUT.....Christina over at the sandy public storage has renewed my faith in humanity. FINALLY, someone with a brain, work ethic, AND a heart? She's almost too good to be true. You rarely find someone who will go out of their way to try and help you, actually listen and empathize to work WITH you. As the owner of a moving company, I bring a lot of business with me and my loyalty is hers now. I wish I could give her a raise, so I'm guaranteed to work with her because she could go anywhere and succeed.
I have been renting there for awhile now and the new property manager Christina is awesome. She has worked with me on some issues and she really cares about her customers. Some of the mangers in the past have been hard to work with or havent been around to help with things. I look forward to working with Christina in the futer.
I have been really impressed with the professionalism and the genuine care from the new manager at this facility. She always tries to make herself available, and has helped me with a multitude of questions regarding my account and the facility itself. Storage units are storage units but what makes this place different? Is the people running it. They're very helpful and they actually care.
After being with this company for five years with no problems I accidentally fall asleep for maybe two minutes , as a result I'm losing everything after being kicked out as a result of falling asleep. Given till the first to move out but I don't even get paid till the first. No humans work here , there's no compassion . I'm already homeless , now I'm going to lose everything I have left to my name. Thanks allot public storage , so glad I haven't had a late payment in almost three years. Update , I lost everything . All family heirlooms, items that belonged to my late mother and sister . I have nothing left from either of them. I have no clothes , lost a brand new wagon that was donated to me . All because I was discriminated against for being homeless. Don't use this company!!!!
Well I've read some reviews and the experience I had with the lady on site wasn't bad at all . Tina was very knowledgeable about the units the costs and helped me in every way she could . She's very friendly and her customer service was exceptional. I was only checking as I need a unit within the next month or so and of all the locations I went to she was the best . I made my decision I'll be renting a unit from her when the time comes . Thank you Tina for all your help

Was told I had drop-off parking but I had to park at the corner of the building.. that was not very fun but after calling the manager Doug Johnson he was very rude when I asked him to get the bushes trimmed. Either walk a distance or damage my vehicle because of simple management negligence. Your management could've done 10x better in my opinion, I even said if they had an extension outlet I'd trim it with my Sawzall.. highly would not recommend..

I stopped in to see about getting a unit and check out the facility and was met with the best helper Tina. She answered all my questions and even helped answer questions about things I didn't even think to ask!!! She was so sweet and great, I may just get my storage here just because I know she will make sure I am taken care of!

Waste of time and there’s constant misinformation being spread. When I reserved my unit I was under the impression that ALL locations had climate control units. 2 weeks ago when I reserved the unit I spoke with someone on the phone and they confirmed that it was true as well as the monthly rate would be $30/mo for my 10x7 unit. I get a call on Wednesday to confirm said reservation and when I asked how to go about payment the person on the phone was sure that you could set everything online. Come to find out that wasn’t true, anyways I call customer service trying to figure out how I could pay and customer service said to come in office (not THAT big of a deal but when moving you’re on the clock for things and it was a slight inconvenience but I digress). I show up to the Sandy location to finalize everything for my unit, this is where I get frustrated. The guy at the Sandy location was probably the most informed out of everyone I’ve talked and had he spoke to me prior I wouldn’t even bothered wasting my time here. I understand it’s not HIS fault but the company definitely needs to stop false advertising and spreading misinformation.
1. The unit that I reserved no longer was there. The guy informed me that even though you make a reservation doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed the unit. Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that what reservations are for?? To hold your spot until you arrive? VERY annoying especially after I talked to TWO people yesterday from this company confirming everything was in order.
2. NONE and I mean NONE of the units are climate controlled at this location EVEN though it’s advertised otherwise.
3. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember it saying anywhere that there was an automatic insurance program you’d be enrolled to after the first month. That’s $15 added on top of whatever you’re already paying.
I’m assuming everyone I spoke with on the phone before I came in must’ve worked at different locations because there’s no way I should’ve been this blindsided. More transparency would be nice. After this month I’m definitely going somewhere else this place is a joke.
OH btw the Midvale one has climate control units but they’re not part of the special deal they’re promoting and the monthly rate is freaking ridiculous.

Was moving in but had to change storage size so I lost the promotion and ended paying full price and then only got half a month and have to pay again already so it cost me over 400$ for a month and half.
Impossible to talk to anybody there to get help. Showed up on moving day and forgot my keys. Already rented a truck for $800 THEN realized I didn’t have the keys. I was not able to talk to anybody, even after calling and chatting online. I’m not convinced anybody real actually works at public storage.

Bought 2 storage units on auction Over $925. Went to go pay for them. When I got there they only could take cash, when they advertised credit card. Had to leave go get cash. Then they couldn't give me receipt or issue gate code for access. So manager gave me her code and said come back next day to get it all handled. Came back 3x next day, no manager onsite. So I called next day and made arrangements to come in when I was back in town, 3 days to rent the units. Arranged to have a moving truck and 3 movers go to facility to start loading, no manager no gate code... they blocked the code given to me!!! WOW, REALLY BAD SERVICE AND NOW I'M OUT MY MONEY AND THE CONTENTS OF UNITS! TOTAL LOSS OF OVER $1250
I wouldn’t use this storage facility. I used it as it was close to the apartment I used to live in and my storage was broken into. There are no cameras in the back left so police didn’t have a way of finding out who did it. I was told twice by property manager that she would look into refunding a late fee and that she would be able to do it and never heard back. Regardless of late fee or not, I got my things out of there as fast as I could and try to warn others about that place. I had a lock on my storage unit and they still managed to break it and take my stuff.

Really an unfortunate place to rent if you have any need for your stuff. I’m sure it’s fab if you’re just going to put it somewhere and leave it there forever. I run an event rental company and stored bulky things like special chairs and backdrops at my storage unit. They claim their locks rust regularly, but I am almost positive my lock was cut by them accidentally or someone broke in to it and they didn’t tell me and just replaced the lock. As a result, I couldn’t get in to my unit for over a month. They told me I was not allowed to cut the lock myself and only their owner was allowed to do it, but the owner would be cutting locks in the next few days. The second person we talked to (had to take time away from work to talk to them as they don’t answer their phones or voicemails) said only a locksmith was allowed to do it, but that he would call the locksmith first thing in the morning. This went on for weeks and I was never able to get into my unit. My husband ended up letting them know we would be cutting the lock after we had to pay almost $300 renting stuff I already owned from other people so that I could do the baby showers and birthday parties I had scheduled. We decided to move out immediately and one of the workers saw us moving our stuff after talking to us multiple times and didn’t apologize or even comment.
In short, your lock will be changed without notice, no one will answer your calls, the hills absolutely suck and will bottom out your cars multiple times, and you will get no customer service to speak of. Not good, not bad, just none.
Horrible place to rent. I’ve only been renting for under a month and I’m already looking to move my things. There is zero customer service at this place, they say they have “business hours” but no one is ever on site. The door even says it should be unlocked during business hours but it’s locked and empty every time I’ve gone. Getting someone on the phone to talk to is a joke. It was a breeze getting it set up and moved in but now they could care less. I’ve tried multiple times to return the lock they gave me and cancel their automatic insurance with no success. They only care about making money at this place not customer communication. I got a good deal on my unit, but I will be moving elsewhere for just a little bit of customer service. Don’t waste your time.
No 24 hour access. Renters insurance automatically added they will remove it once proof of insurance is shown. It's my stuff it should be my choice to insure or not.

Reserving and setting up a storage place was very easy. They called back quickly when I had a question, and Jennifer in the office was very friendly and helpful when I arrived. I reserved it one day and moved in the next.

Dealing with this place is a JOKE. Units are NOT secure. The lady in the office refuses to take any responsibility of on site security - which conveniently was being repaired the day after multiple units were broken into.

For the 2 years I have rented my unit at 6832 S State St , & it has been a horrendous experience. As I am writing this, I'm moving my contents to a new storage facility, Cube Storage on 1300 East.
I dowloaded the Public Storage app so I would not have to enter manually the access code. It never works. When I bring this fact to the staff on site, she just says use the app.
In fact one day, I could not get out of the facility, no matter how many times I entered the access code. I had to wait until someone left so I could follow them out of the facility.
Very often, no staff is available on the premises.
One day I had to leave my unit unlocked because no one was on the premises to sell me a lock. I found out later that the staff was on an all day conference. No notice for the customers.
They provide no maintenance. Both the winters of 2022 & 2023, I could not open my unit because it was frozen. There was no attempt to help me; I was told it was my responsibility to get rid of the ice.
Also, they do not maintain the roads to get to your unit. Unless you have a 4 wheel drive, you can slip & slide & crash on the frozen surfaces. No attempt is made to make these surfaces drivable. No salt, etc
Most importantly safety is nonexistent.
Recently a creepy guy drove up to my unit; he did not have a unit. So how did he get in?
He came into my unit & he started trying on different items.
When he tried a hat, he demanded that I give him the hat. I told him 'No.'
No one else was around.
Recently, the exit gate was opened for 5 hours. Anyone could come in.
Whenever I call the Public Storage manager, he never returns my call.
Recently someone left a broken dresser in front of my unit. I called the facility & they assured me it would removed. So far, it is still blocking my unit.

Do yourself a favor and take your stuff somewhere else.
-They will raise the price after a couple months and it’s more expensive than any other self storages near by.
-The lot is very difficult to drive through/navigate especially in a big moving truck. The road is extremely uneven, narrow and has lumps and bumps through out.
-The roofs leak and your stuff will get wet and ruined.
-It’s nearly impossible to get ahold of anybody even during office hours and they won’t return your calls.
- we were told the leaking roof had been fixed. It was still leaking and soaked our stuff. We were told a second time it was fixed and was still not fixed. Our stuff was soaked and ruined. They’re unhelpful and rude.
-We were given a brochure to file an insurance claim for our loss but you can’t ever get ahold of the insurance people either and they won’t return phone calls.
-There’s other options near by for better quality, your stuff won’t get ruined and for a better price.
Online person was great. The people maintaining the storage units had to come out and put a lock on the unit because the one we were supposed to have was cut off. No one was in the office like they were supposed to be. Said open but it was closed.

Things seemed great at first but within 5 months they are now raising my rate by more than $20/month with reasons such as matching competitor pricing and facility projects they want to accomplish. Their competitor within a mile is indoor, climate controlled and somehow less than what these guys charge. I highly suggest looking into alternatives for a storage facility and using this as an absolute last resort but honestly not even that.
Also most of the good reviews should be questioned or taken with a grain of salt since they pressure you into giving them a glowing review after completing your rental agreement and first payment. My initial review was great because the problem came later, apparently the 6 month mark is where they decide to raise everyone's rent.

I just rented storage space online without inspecting the unit first. Upon opening the door of the unit I noticed the floor was wet with two rows of water apparently from a leaking roof.
