04/05/2025 Hace una semana que estoy viniendo a este storage en particular para tratar de recuperar mis papeles de emigración ya que tengo entrevista en el mes de junio y el manager estaba al tanto de la situación, resulta que se contactan con el comprador y les comunica que se iba a revisar para entregarme dichos papeles y cada vez que iba estaba cerrada la oficina o se me escondían, hoy me atienden y para mi sorpresa el manager había renunciado o sea que ya no se encontraba, que mal trabajo de este establecimiento, personalmente no lo recomiendo y espero que lo cierren por negligencia pero, yo no voy a descansar hasta recuperar mis documentos y así como la administración responde los buenos review pues que se tomen el tiempo de revisar los negativos para una posible solución
Prices online aren't honored even when you hold/reserve a unit online. I tried multiple times to pay for my unit online. I was told to wait 20 minutes and it should go through on the website and it did not work. Then they raised the price on my reservation for a different unit that's not near the elevator like I initially reserved. I was told there's no guarantee that a unit reserved will be available. What's the point of holding a unit online if it it's not actually being held for you and the price online not being honored. Customer service was not helpful 😒

Big thanks to Steve and Octavia for responding to my situation in a quick and timely manner. I showed up to my unit and my lock had been broken. Steve and Octavia expressed deep concern for me, and was able to get my unit open. Fortunately, nothing had been taken. They assisted me with getting a more secure lock and key for my unit immediately. Great customer service. I will ask for them.
These guys are untrustworthy and tricksters. They sign you up at a certain price then 5 months later they jack up the price by $17 dollars because they know you won’t pay the costs of the U-Haul to leave.
Here’s a tip: whatever price they’re advertising, add $20 because that’s the real price you’ll eventually end up paying.

If you want your belongings stolen, then this is the place for you. My whole unit was broken into and I had all my stuff stolen by one of the tenants. The storage staff and management did nothing about it & after speaking to people there, I realized that this is a common occurrence. Beware people! The cameras are just there for show. They’re not protecting you from anything.
The officer that arrested the thief was kind enough to come and do a report because the police in that area will not help either.
Staff handled the recent hurricane fabulously, really dedicated to maintaining access even through power outages.

I'm in the middle of relocating to Houston from Chicago and wanted to find a storage location close to where I plan to live in Houston. I called Public Storage to get some information on making a reservation. I spoke with Paul and he was phenomenal with assisting me! I had a ton of questions and concerns because my belongings would be traveling long distance by movers so I had a lot of worries about storage. Paul was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. He gave me all the information needed and explained the process for making a reservation and storing my furniture. Talking to Paul really put me at ease and gave me the insight I needed. Furniture storage is now one less thing for me to worry about, thanks to Paul. I am so thankful for all his help!
I am compelled to share a deeply troubling experience I had at Public Storage located at 8989 Westheimer Rd, which has significantly undermined my trust in their security and customer service.
Approximately three weeks ago, I visited my storage unit to reorganize and ensure that everything fit properly within the space. During this visit, I noticed that a staff member named Paul, who was conducting rounds with a dog, made a peculiar and unsolicited attempt to open my partially closed unit door. I explained to him that the door was intentionally lowered to better secure the contents inside, but his unwarranted interest in my unit struck me as odd and quite unsettling.
Fast forward to my most recent visit, when I intended to retrieve some of my belongings, I was horrified to discover clear signs of tampering. Several of my boxes appeared to have been deliberately punctured, and to my dismay, I noticed that multiple pairs of shoes were missing. The nature of the damage and the missing items led me to suspect that this was not a random act but possibly an inside job.
When I brought this issue to the attention of Paul, who was again on duty, his handling of the situation was nothing short of appalling. Not only did he show a complete lack of empathy or concern, but he also outright refused to come and inspect the damage himself. His demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional; he even retorted with a cavalier “call the police then, like I care” when I expressed my frustration and demanded some form of action or accountability.
This experience has left me deeply disappointed and concerned about the security measures at this Public Storage location. The lack of professional conduct and the dismissive attitude of the staff, particularly when serious issues are reported, is unacceptable. I had entrusted this facility with my personal belongings, only to have them handled so carelessly and to encounter a staff attitude indicative of a complete disregard for customer property and peace of mind.
I strongly advise against using this Public Storage facility. If you value the safety and security of your stored items, it would be wise to consider alternative locations where respect for customer concerns and proactive security measures are a priority. This location not only failed to secure my belongings but also showed a disturbing lack of professionalism in addressing legitimate customer complaints.
I went to inquire about a storage unit and the manager Paul was very helpful gave me all the information i needed and gave clear instructions for when I am ready get the unit.

Horrible experience! They kicked me off of auto pay with out notifying me found out they added lien fee and 2 late payment fees. What’s the point of auto pay services if you’re gonna kick me out of it anyway? I call them everyone has an horrible attitude at this place. Like no one forced you to put an application in? Paul was a manager he tried to help me out as much as he could but there was only so much he could help with.
Ended up getting to no where and made me pay all the late fees and Lien fee that I was not responsible of to begin with. I wouldn’t not recommend them or bring my business to them ever. Again.
I just want to give thanks to Paul. It is always expected for someone to do the job required of them. For some to go beyond what is required is indeed rare.

The office wasn’t open yet but she answered my questions and was even willing to show a unit. Sign posted on the window saying they'll be back in 30 min, waited an 1hr & no one came.
Finally opened after 1hr+ pretty sure she was a sleep.
Homeless stay there overnight, thieves are there, frequently broken storages. Very unsafe at this time. HPD was called, the management said that they rent a unit to a homeless and then that tenant brought his community into the building , giving them the access codes.
Staff was extremely rude. They called and said my unit was broken into and it’s nothing they can do about it I’ll have to file a claim
Ladies in office were very helpful. No nonsense kinda gals that I can appreciate. And the prices are right in line with the market, I mean it's a metal box with concrete floor, can't be too darn picky 😂

My unit was burglarized and trashed this was a store restock unit all my merchandise stolen TVs stolen Apple computer stolen I feel like it’s a inside job up there cause there no way the workers didn’t see anyone nor did they have the cameras on record even the police saying this has to be a inside job cause how the folks get inside without a code plus why nobody even call or email us about storage room was vandalized.

Over priced, if you're barely late you get a late fee, a few days late they lock you out, according to my wife as it was her storage. The neighborhood has gone way downhill and her storage unit got broken into along with several others. Insurance requires you figure out what is missing and file a police report which is a big hassle. Needless to say, we moved out to a different place over off I10 its cheaper, better area and better security.
I went to this location for price checking but I honestly think I will rent here Ericka was very polite and knowledgeable about her building and she took the time to explain everything to me even tho I was just price checking I truly appreciate her

I've been with the Public Storage since 11/2021. Today (8/27/22) I received a phone call stating my storage unit was broken into. The thieves took approximately 70% of all my belongings.
Speaking with the the security here is minimal they are planning on updating their camera systems, but until they update their system and beef up their security I don't recommend this Public Storage.
The door locks are poor design two small cuts and they can get in plus all the top of all the storage units are wide open so anyone can climb up there and look down and see what everyone has inside their storage units.
Poorly designed and clearly unsecure so buyers beware.

The property manager, Ericka, is super nice. That's the only reason for any stars at all.
The only flat bed carts (1, sometimes 2) are chained to the wall in the lobby, so you can't use them.
Don't look for any security at this location. My unit, along with several others, were broken into but the robbers had a code to get into the door, so there was no alarm tripped.They took their time, going through several units and unloading what they wanted. They did damage to the storage unit doors but not enough that the property manager filed an insurance claim.
Public Storage has not opened a police incident report, nor provided the police with security footage of the incident, even almost 3 weeks later. They only had one security camera on the entry door with access near my unit.
Paid movers to relocate what was left to a more secure location as soon as possible.

Its disgusting. It stinks. It has nats and roaches. There were multiple units broken into in one day. I bought roach spray to use, until I moved out 2.5 weeks later.
Don't bother to rent here. They keep the dollies locked up. No staff. Only one person works at a time, no matter how busy.

My mom and I literally had the worst experience with our movers , so going anywhere that day wasn’t what we were looking forward to . I explained to Erika the sales rep at public storage, the day mom and I had and told her why mom was a little shaken up after the mover yelled at her and I . Erika took seconds to go into super hero mode , she was gracious and kind . She treated my mom like she would treat her own , step by step she guided us . She is patient and understanding . Public storage is lucky to have Erika . She is a true super star.

I do share the comments of others, there has to be some moving carts. I understand if you don’t make them available when office is not open due to theft. However, if office is open, let them be checked out with an ID held by the office or something. Too hard to move materials without them.

I would avoid this location if possible. The staff are not present during business hours and they do not return your call if you leave a voicemail (I have left several voicemails in the past two weeks). I was told there was a recent change in GM/District Manager but that is no excuse for the lack of staff presence during business hours. It is currently 4:36pm and I have waited an hour at this location in hopes that staff will come to work before the close of business, 6:30pm. I would reconsider doing business here if I were you. Hope this review is helpful.

I’ve had my storage here for going on three years. I got my new unit right at the peak of Covid in 2019 and I haven’t had any issues I will say however there was an instance where my luck was changed due to some miss information between employees but it was handled swiftly and seamlessly is to my understanding that the person made the mistake is no longer with the company
