University Place Self Storage Near Southwest Freeway
This Houston Public Storage is located in the University Place neighborhood on the east side of Greenbriar Street just south of I-69.
The location is also easily accessed from Highway 90A, the 610 Loop or Highway 288.
It features indoor storage units with access from an interior corridor, as well as outdoor storage units, which allow customers to pull a vehicle right up for easy loading and unloading. There is never a property manager on site and the numerous times I have called, I have never been able to get in touch with a real person. Once while I was storing my items here their electronic gate system failed and I was entirely unable to access my items.

Their "temperature controlled" units are set to 83 degrees which makes it impossible to work out of them for most of the year. They do this to save a few bucks on their utility bills. I also consistently see water inside the building. If you plan on being in and out of your unit pretty regularly, I would avoid this place.

I would 0 stars if I could! ELEVATOR HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR 30+ DAYS! I rented a storage unit on the 2nd floor that I cannot even utilize because the elevator is broken. I’ve called, left VMs, called the main line and just get out on hold for hours. PLEASE FIX THE ELEVATOR!
Was out of town, tried to pay by phone on numerous occasions, was met with a recursive loop that kept leading me back to the main menu, so I was unable to make a payment. They sold my storage unit after less than one month, and without giving me a chance to pay the arrears. I tried to pay immediately once I got back in town. Conveniently, nobody was around. Good luck getting a human on the phone.
Not sure what the divine penalty is for stealing a man's golf clubs, but a hexed colon seems like a good place to start. I earned my place on the course.

absolutely great staff, a young lady named yessely helped me & my dad find a perfect size unit for our belongings and made the overall interaction easy and understandable for my dad who only speaks spanish.

Worst storage experience. No on-site staff, keypad to storage building is often broken preventing access. When you call the property manager, they are lazy and unhelpful.
Ms. Latoya was very helpful, she has excellent customer service and she is very informative, she got me all the information I need to get a storage unit when I'm ready to get one.

Once you sign on with this group they continue to increase the rental rate. I have been online and found other interior air-conditioned spaces for less. I most likely will be moving to the nicer facility.

I unexpectedly needed to make a last-minute change to a larger unit and the staff were incredibly accommodating. I called when I was about 15 minutes away with my moving truck and they had it all set up by the time that I arrived, so the crew could start unloading while I handled paperwork. Great service!
So yeah came in the public storage mad about moving and Yolanda help me get everything situated. She really helped me out today get everything together .
No one was in office when sign said open could not get movers carts ended up making me pay more to movers. No one is ever there. Worst customer service ever

I’m 60 years old. And they’re expecting me to carry my dead parent’s belongings up to the 2nd floor. I’ve had a unit here for 10 years and it’s never been like this. Run the other way. Anywhere but Public Storage, as I expect they’re all declining the same way.

I did mange to get everything put away. But I also noticed that the A/C is still out.
Three weeks ago I had been inside to arrange and prepare. I noticed the the A/C was off but assumed it was a one off. Apparently it’s a month long ordeal!
I can’t have this. I had assumed I would keep my belongings here until my own retirement and resettlement. But it seems that it won’t be possible.
I’m very upset.
This is a wonderful place to store your stuff. Very safe and secure. I reserved a unit that didn't work for me after I got it and Yolanda worked with me to get me in a different unit the same day. The customer service she showed was amazing. Highly recommend this place.
I had to move ASAP. I walked in right a closing and Ms. Yolanda help me with no problem. She even stayed until I finished. Thank you she is the best.
