I came in to inquire about a unit and Shay helped tremendously! She was so nice and made sure I knew all the information I needed.
I had public storage for years but emptied my unit #0188 on 3:31/25. I paid on time and a month ahead! I was told by staff there that I would receive my month ahead payment in 5-7 days. Today I called and FINALLY reached a human only to be told I would not receive my early payment for 6-8 weeks! This is totally unacceptable!! I was lied to and no one in billing was interesting in reciprocal customer service! You have my unit to rent out and the $ from a new renter plus my past payment for 6-8 weeks. I will never use Public Storage again and I would advise anyone to make sure if considering doing business with them to make sure you are given all the facts from a honest person PRIOR to doing business with them!
First timer with any storage facility, so I didn't know what I was doing. Ms. Shay at the front desk was so helpful and patient with me. If I ever need storage again Public Storage will be my top pick. Thanks Shay( God loves you)

I'm highly upset and disappointed I usually have a hard time getting an answer thru the phone!!! But I luckily got an answer on Monday they informed me that corporate made the decision that I can no longer make payments online or any partial payments they said it would have to be the full amount and has to be cash only so Monday I spoke to the desk clerk I told her I would be in Saturday to pay it off and with cash as requested! I get here at 4:01 noone is at the desk and noone is answering the phone so I reach out to customer service and have been put on hold from two different customer service agents it is now 5:03 and now one has returned to the desk or on the phone I live 2 hours away and can't afford to make multiple trips back and forth I really will be the happiest I have ever been once I get rid of this unit it has been more headache than helpful

Have been using Public Storage for many years, all of the managers that I have dealt with have always been super helpful with any issues and questions. Prices for the units and outdoor parking are typically better or comparable to other storage unit providers

Unfortunately, this place is great but their business side of things is unfortunate. We have been renting out a unit for a year. On 3 separate occasions they raised our rent by 80 dollars, where it was hitting nearly 400. We told them we were leaving and they charged us for the full amount for our last month when we used the unit for one day. And that was because there was no one in the office to close our account the day before when they were supposed to be opened. Unfortunately, I will not be using any Public Storage anymore.
D’shaunda has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. She was very nice and patient. I felt like I was her priority. I went to a few other companies and I came due to her friendly phone etiquette and once on the property I felt valued and important. Thank you so much for your service

From start of getting my storage (in August 24’) unit until now (and on-going), this location has been nothing but helpful. Customer service is exceptional. I moved in my storage by myself with a 15’ U-Haul. I’ll never forget how hot it is and the staff made sure I stayed hydrated and offered to use their staff. Then Ms Dshaunda, Wheew listen, this woman is beyond great. Anytime I needed help or answers, she was my guide. Always polite and helpful and any way she could be. I have lived in Charleston for 5 years and she, herself, was the best customer service I’ve experienced my whole time there. All the staff and this location is great and they have a great leader. I don’t recommend a lot of places for business because I’m super particular about everything, but this public storage is definitely one of my recommendations if ever needed. She made such an impact, you wouldn’t believe. Thank you Ms Dshaunda and the rest of the staff for such a pleasant on-going experience. Give the whole location a raise. A tip jar is a MUST! Closed a storage unit out today and got a new storage unit. Jamey and Chandra was a great help! We needed an extra day to move out because our unit move out date was Sunday and couldn't go to dumpster to get rid of the items to give us more space in the new one. So, I'm here at public storage on Dorchester road and it's 8:37am. Mrs. Dshaunda was literally getting out of her vehicle and allowed me to come and make a much needed payment. I've been to other storage facilities and those that have taken this route know all to well the struggles of dealing with storage staff!!!! This woman went above and beyond to help me. She made it OK for me not to understand some things, and then made sure I didn't leave in that same ignorance. People like her deserve a raise!!!!

The employee, Jamie Denby, does not provide good customer service, talks over guests, and refuses to call the supervisor when customers have questions and needs. I do not recommend this location as it is neglected by the employees and the climate control is miserable at best.

There's something lost in this art... The meeting of customer needs without loss to quality of the product and personnel selling it. When I got my unit, every question was met. Every need was attained. I've rented at other locations in the past, but I love it here. Whatever you're pushing in your training of your team here, it needs to be bottled and sold. You guys are the best!

When my car needed to be jumped, employee Shannon provided amazing costumer service and helped us get my car restarted. I am astounded with the unprofessionalism from the woman at the front desk with piercings on her face. I walked in just wanting to get a storage unit and she threw down what was holding and said “I was just about to go on my lunch break” with the biggest attitude. I told her she is very rude and unprofessional and walked out. Mind blown and lost out on easy money.
Just got access to my unit. Paige helped me get access and then switch to a better sized unit. She was so super helpful, efficient and competent. An absolute pleasure to deal with.

Paige is great at customer service. She is willing to go above & beyond for her customers at her property, & will even help you when you call her if, & your unit is at another property that's she's not even a property manager of. She makes sure her property is in order, & well maintained. She is very understanding, & will resolve any issues within reason.

My boxes got flooded and they did not pay for them, with the insurance and charged me for the month I was not there .
The facility is great. Never had any problems at the location, but the online payment site is aweful and the late fee is worse been trying to pay on line since the 4th it keeps kicking me out although my info is correct and I've paid that way before on more than one occasion.

I'm leaving this post before I even move my items in just to complement Paige who works at the front desk. Customer service is key for me and Paige has great customer service skills. Public storage on Dorchester road is by far the most friendly, kind, personable storage unit in my history of storage facilities.
After 4 years I can confidently say Paige has been an amazing friend, an outstanding leader, consistently continues to amaze me regardless of pandemics, floods, movement throughout the company of employees and I am eternally grateful I’m these hard times to know our belongings are safe.
I hope she is shown appreciation for the value, work ethic and humanity she has shown and continues to do so.

the price could be lower as they charged me for different stuff such as governmental fee, locker and other stuff. But I'm happy with the service I received. Thanks
They raised the rate a total of 60% in 22 months with 2 increases during that time. When I notified them our departure at the end of the month they offered an $8 rate reduction for 6 months. Obviously not serious about maintaining me as a customer.
