Self Storage FAQs
Self-storage prices vary by location, unit size, features, and availability. Smaller units typically cost less than larger ones, and indoor and climate-controlled units may be priced differently than standard units. Public Storage offers month-to-month rentals, so you only pay for the time you need.
Specials vary by location and unit type, so checking current rates and promotions in your area is the best way to find the most up-to-date offers.
Start by taking inventory of what you plan to store and how often you'll need to access it. A small 5x5 unit often fits boxes or small household items, while medium sizes like 10x10 work well for multiple rooms' worth of belongings. Larger units, such as 10x20 or 10x30, are designed for bigger items or business needs.
Indoor Storage Units: Located inside a building with hallway access.
Outdoor Drive-Up Units: Ground-level units you can drive up to for quick loading and unloading.
Climate-Controlled Units: Designed to help maintain more consistent temperature and humidity levels. Availability varies by location.
Vehicle Storage: Options may include parking spaces or enclosed units for cars or small trailers.
RV or Boat Storage: Typically offered as open or covered parking spaces at select locations.

Climate-controlled storage helps maintain more consistent temperature and humidity levels inside the unit. It's commonly used for items like books, fabrics, electronics, or other belongings that can react to extreme heat, cold, or humidity. Climate-controlled storage is available at many—but not all—locations, so availability depends on the facility.
Drive-up access refers to a ground-level storage unit that you can pull your vehicle right up to. This makes loading and unloading quicker because you don't need to use hallways, elevators, or stairs. It's often chosen for storing larger items or boxes you'll want to move in and out easily.
Some storage facilities offer 24/7 access as an added feature, while others provide extended access hours. Availability varies by property, so it's best to check your location's access hours when renting a unit.
Common security features include:
• Gated access with individualized entry codes
• Bright lighting throughout the property
• Onsite staff during office hours
• Video surveillance
• Well-maintained fencing and facility grounds
• Storage unit locks available for purchase
Features can vary widely by location, so reviewing your facility's offerings is recommended.

Great idea. Contactless storage. Easy and just what I needed!
The facility is fine, although I think the individual units should be lit and onsite management should be more available.
The rent is my issue! I have been a customer for eight years, starting when it was LockBox. Since it has become PS, they have raised my rent from $65 to $180 for a 10x10 interior. They just notified me that it would increase from $150 to $180 next month!! 😱
Oh, and if you're late, they cut off your lock and tell you "please secure your property immediately" as a pressure tactic, knowing good and well that many customers are out of state. That and multiple threatening emails and texts a day. Corporate bullies!
I drove out here and spent an entire weekend getting out asap...I'M FINISHED WITH PS!! 😡
Nice storage place. Occasional issues with a gate being out of order but nothing major, they have 2 so never a major problem. Always clean and tidy when we went. Had stuff there for about 1 year.
Gate is always open except when I’m trying to access it . I told the property manager about my problems with the app and gate code and she didn’t care 1 bit .Day 1 when I got my unit I was forced to by a pad lock that was open and out of the package not a trust woorthy place
Hell no
Very clean units. Easy access, location is great for my business!!
They will raise your rent at-will sporadically just to do it. There is no rhyme or reason for it other than they can, and they will. It starts out reasonable, but if you talk to them about it, they say that it's in the agreement that they can. You can make payments on time for your entire agreement, and it does not matter. You just get an email about the increase. The 10x15 will start less than 100.00, and now I'm up to 265.00. It's an insane practice. I thought it was the economy, but that is not the case after looking online prices up and seeing the rates are what I started out at. Just crazy
Awkward getting started to find a person to talk to, but once I connected, it's been a very good experience for a first-timer. I am more than happy with my rental unit.
Justin was very helpful
josh is super helpful!
Over the past 2 to 3 months now, I have been trying to move out of my storage unit, I already moved out all of my belongings but the app would not update the move out. So low and behold I am being charged a move out fee and a "insufficient funds fee". I don't have insufficient funds and they have been charging me with these kinds of fees over the past few months, resulting it hundreds of dollars taken out of my account. I will also note that the app kept turning off my auto pay by it self. I have called the office and either get a robot or immediately get transfered to someone else who just repeats themselves over and over without actually trying to help or solve anything. I liked this storage place at first, but after this bad experience, I've never going to them again. They are purposefully misleading on the phone and app, I'm extremely frustrated.
Super friendly staff! Josh was so helpful in getting us set up and going.
Girl in the office is hands down been the best! She always there answer any questions I have and always keeping the place clean and nice! Definitely recommend this location if needing any storage needs
I went there 3 times in last week with proper appointments to look at the unit size but no one was there in the office. I tried calling the location manager but they never pick or return the call. I even called their call center but the location manager do not pick their call as well.
Called 5 times to cancel a storage unit that I’ve never used and keep getting charged for it. No one will return my call
P.S. has Nice (like "brand new") CLEAN facilities, with GREAT deals & rates; Super kind office & admin people. I may want to leave & protect my belongings there forever!!!
The facility is fine, but, so are many storage units in the area. The service from the local office to the corporate office is lacking a key ingredient, customer service and support. I updated information on their app and it caused all kinds of problems. No one at Public Storage was helpful or kind. The 800 number is basically only to make a payment. Two tries, waiting for over 30 minutes on each attempt, resulted in no live person answering the phone. Also, without any notice or recourse, the price was increased by 25% after 5 months. Originally paying $95.00 increased to $131. Called the local office and they said it is out of their control. Could put in an online request for a reduction request. It was sent and immediately received a text message declining the request. No text or email about rate increase and no information about who to contact. So unhappy with the lack of service and how quick the local office is to dismiss themself from the process and send the customer into the wormhole of apps and 800 numbers with automated options. Beware of this if you need to store your belongings for more than a couple of months.
Been storing things here for several months. Nice clean facility and booking a bay was a breeze online.
