The service we have received from public storage has always been good, and recently has been taken over by Chuck who has been delightful to work with, flexible, and helpful. We are sad to go, but it has to do with financial and other personal concerns that we’ve had to move our stuff out. And keep it at home.

I went online and rented my storage unit but Chuck reached out to me via phone to tell me everything about Public Storage which was great. This is my first time renting a storage unit and I didn't know how to open it until Chuck took the time to show me when I visited the property today. I really appreciate Chuck and everything he does to keep his customers happy.

The reason I gave this rating is because I live in Raleigh but have a storage unit here. I drove 35+ minutes to get here and it's 11:36pm at night. So why when I arrive and enter my code the door does open? It tell me that public storage is closed. Then why does it says on their website that their open 24/7? I wasted my time and gas! You need to keep the website up to date before this happens to someone else in which I'm pretty sure it has

They won’t let you cancel without calling. But they also won’t answer the phone. And there’s no climate control. Humidity is the same as outside.
Rate went up by 50% (~$100 - $150) 3 months after moving in. At this rate it will be $1000/month within a year.
i called them only to get an offer for a slightly cheaper unit but it's the same size with no price guarantee. If you ask about price increases they will say it's based on competition but I've checked other storage places, literally, right across the street and they are significantly cheaper than $150/month with guaranteed rates for 12 months or even 24 months. The fact this price change happened and you only get 30 days to shop around and empty the unit is predatory. Seems like the minimum amount of time to trap people into another month (at least). On that note, the letter they send is marked for 8/1/26 but did not receive until days later. Point being that you actually get <30 days after the notification. I do not recommend using Public storage. I do not trust this place.

Very warm welcoming from the front desk and I’m very impressed with the cleanliness of the location.
Once of my service technicians did some work on the HVAC system at this location. He had nothing but great things to say about Kim at the office. She brought him something for lunch while he was working and stayed over her normal hours to let him finish the job. Appreciate all the support, it was a pleasure working with you all!

Do not store anything here. I had to throw away half of my belongings because of mold. They had a massive "humidity event" and units all over the first floor were affected with mold. They were quick to abdicate responsibility by pointing out that they "do not guarantee temperature or humidity ranges" per the contract.
Parbatee, who works are desk, is amazingly kind and patient. There have been issues at the facility for some units on the first floor, mine included, and while it's no fun and the process is long with insurance etc, she was so helpful and kind. I normally do not leave a review that is negative unless an experience was horrible, and it has not been all that awesome that's for sure, but having staff that listen and explain, help you through the situation with grace and understanding is not always expected . She's a gem, they are lucky to have her! If you have issues and need to contact, she is so kind, please be kind to her as well! I will say the experience at the facility was not all bad, it's isolated to a couple serious events that I do not think are necessarily normal for the facility.

Do not rent here. It is not climate controlled and contents of our entire unit were ruined due to mold. They did nothing to assist us and the insurance is woefully inadequate.
I want to share how great my experience was with Parented at Public Storage. She is always so respectful, kind, and professional. She treats customers with care and makes sure everything is explained clearly. Every time I come in, she greets me warmly and helps me right away. It’s rare to meet someone who goes above and beyond like she does. Public Storage is lucky to have her on the team
Ms. Parbatee is by far the worst property manager I have ever dealt with at Public Storage. She is consistently rude and speaks to customers as if they are beneath her. Toward the end of her shift, she makes it clear that she’s “about to leave” and tells customers there’s nothing she can do except “leave a note on file.”
My sister currently has a unit here and is now hospitalized due to severe mold issues in her unit. Instead of addressing the problem, Ms. Parbatee blames everything on corporate. When approached about concerns, she often raises her voice, interrupts, and overtalks customers, even when they are speaking calmly.
Her unprofessional behavior reflects very poorly on Public Storage, and it’s unacceptable for a manager to treat paying customers this way.
Everything was fine before moving out. However, be aware that your rent will go up every year, automatically. The rate you end up with will be much higher than the contract you sign. Furthermore, upon move-out don’t expect any grace with being even one hour late as they charge you for an empty, unused space for the next full month if so. They monitor this by tracking your door code. There is no prorated option, you can’t pay for a single extra day, let alone minute. To add insult to injury the second you pay for the upcoming vacant month, they remove your access to the space so you are literally paying for nothing. See attached photo.
The person in the office was pleasant enough but the “going above and beyond” customer service others rave about was not offered or extended to me. I understand that this is a corporate franchise, but most other businesses will work with you, especially in THIS economy.

Parbatee, the GM of this facility,' was extremely helpful in explaining a current promotion and the rental terms. After answering all my questions, I decided to book the unit, and was able to finish signing the contract I started online on the telephone. She made booking and signing a pleasant experience!
My experience was great with the exception of being instructed to scan the QR code to receive information regarding the size and pricing of available units upon arrival. I would have preferred for the agent to have offered to provide that information to initiate our interaction.
Manager on Saturday @ Durham on Chapel Hill road location was very patient and offered to show the different options.

I am preparing to move to Durham NC from out of state. I will need a place to store some personal items until I purchase a home in that area. I made a reservation online for the Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd location. I have spoken to the store manager (Parbatee) via phone several times. She has been extremely helpful in helping me take steps needed to hold the reservation. It is necessary to appear in person to guarantee the storage space. I will not be able to do that for another week and a half as I am travelling from another state. The care and support provided by Parbatee has been invaluable. Thank you.

I moved into a unit two weeks ago and Parbatee and the young man (whose name I forget now) working that day were amazing! Very nice and helpful. He answered some questions and then processed my refund for the lock I didn't need.
Towards the end of the day I went into the office bc I had to switch my orig unit to a bigger one and that's when Parbatee helped! She checked the available units and made sure to tell me the diff costs + more importantly where each was (floor + distance from the elevators). I'd already unloaded all of my stuff out of a cargo van into my orig unit on the 1st floor close to the main doors. I was going to have to switch it all to the new one and I am so grateful for her taking the extra effort to figure out what was gonna be easiest + most affordable. She was very kind + lightheartedly chatting with me as she processed the change in the computer which helped revive me from how exhausted I was. The building and units were clean and no issues in general.

What a place! We have been their customer since Dec of last year and I was concerned about the increase of cost. Spoke with the GM Parbatee and she was awesome! She submitted for me a request to lower the monthly payment and it was approved! What a blessing she was! Please stop by and ask her about the services and prices. She will definitely help you out.

It’s fine enough. Onsite staff tries. My complaint is that the frequent and predatory rate increases what was ~ $125 a year ago has had multiple rate increases and would be $224 per month now. This industry desperately needs regulation!

Always closed. Arrived to get my unit I had paid for with a U-Haul full of stuff. nobody there at 2pm-4pm. Multiple people outside complaining about days of trying to get ahold of someone with no luck. Called customer service and was told the property manager would contact me in 5-10 mins with no calls even now at 10pm. Ended up move to a different storage facility where I was helped immediately and efficiently.
