Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 3535 N Records Ave, Meridian, ID

STAY AWAY FORM THIS LOCATION !!!!! I miss when this place was ran under Elevate Storages I loved coming in and knowing my stuff was safe and with a respectful company. Soon as Public Storage took over, everything violently changed for the WORST seemingly over night. 2 days after they took over I got a call from corporate saying that my 90$ rent was now being raised to $200! I let them know how preposterous that was and gave a MONTHS notice that I would be vacating, and they charged me for the next month any way because they “forgot” to put my notice! Absolutely preposterous!

Elevate Self Storage was beyond wonderful to work with! Once Public Storage took over, everything went downhill. Customer service was awful and demanding, never knowing up from down. All policies changed. Rent went from $52 per month to $189 per month in 3 years. BEWARE!!! I gave notice for my vacate date almost 2 months in advance, which they don’t prorate, so I get a notice the next day that they upped my last month rent. THEN tried charging me double! Corporate customer service refused to assist me, so I had to dispute the charge with my bank. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! Go to Stor-It if you value your sanity, dignity, and hard earned money!

Moved a bunch of personal belongings in when we moved out of the state for a couple of years. We had kids/baby pictures and things we wanted to save for them and not move around. Moving back, we go pick up our stuff and everything is covered in mouse poop and pee. Everything is destroyed. We paid $200 per month for 2.5 years and they just said, ( we can give you a discounted rate for future rental. Crazy!! I will never recommend this place. We had to throw everything away So sad

I am rating four stars because corporate has a user-unfriendly phone system which makes it challenging to talk with a live agent. Once the manager, Stacy, became aware of an issue I had with the electronic lock on my unit, she worked quickly, efficiently, and effectively to resolve the situation. Stacey and Nick, the site manager, definitely cared about taking care of me. It is a great clean facility.

The access and convenience is nice. However, don’t trust the “lock in this rate”advertisements. They will raise your rent after about 6 months, despite still advertising the same lower price on their website

Nick is the BEST! Professional, polite and the most helpful person I have met here in Idaho so far! Looking for a storage unit, I’m extremely stressed out, I stopped by with no appointment just hoping to find a unit and some help. Nick was amazing. Took his time to show me around with no hesitation. He answered all my crazy questions and was patient and kind. He helped me set the app on my phone too! Public storage on records ave you are lucky to have this guy!! Oh and I got my unit. Clean and ready to go! Nick is definitely 5 stars and he makes this public storage 5 stars too!

Very disappointed in the service. I didn't get what I reserved then had to pay for a larger unit that I didn't need. I moved out in January and called February 1st to make sure they new I was empty they said they would have to charge me for February. After being forced to pay an extra month I thought it was over. But nope. They sent the month of March to collections. Still haven't received my refund for February I was promised after i called cause apparently theirs no notes from me talking to management. Very unprofessional, and just lazy.

Dillon was excellent in helping me correct a billing issue that I had with my unit. He was very kind and kept me updated as he fixed the problem. I would recommend working with Dillon to ensure your storage experience is hassle free.

BEWARE! They offer decent rates until you move in. My unit started at $167. Five months later it jumped up to $260. I just got a rate increase up to $300. If you call in as a new customer you get way better rates. It’s a totally shady business practice. They know people don’t want to move an entire unit once you have been there awhile. I obviously moved my unit now and they did nothing to maintain my business.

We've had a unit here for almost 3 years. The first year, our rate was $110 with insurance. The 2nd year, the storage facility was sold to Public Storage. A month later, we received a notice that our rate was going up to $175. We are headed into year 3 and just received a notice that our rate is going up to $205. 😳 90% of the time, we can't even get into our unit and seriously a $30 increase??? I've never had a storage unit that continued to increase my rate. I've always signed an agreement at a set price, and my rate stayed that price the whole time I stayed. This is ridiculous.

Grounds are good. Received notice of a 33% increase after 6 mths. They agreed to keep it at the initial rate for another 90 days. Based on other reviews, it looks like its standard procedure to increase rents after 6 mths. I'm guessing that they do this due to the hassle of moving,. An increase due to inflation - No Problem A 33% increase because they think they "have you". No bueno.

Tracy is awesome. She is friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and thurough. She called just moments after I set up the rental online to let me know some of the specifics of this location, such as this being a tech location, which means you'll need a smart phone for the app that controls your entrance to the facility, and your specific unit. Everything was clean, and it felt safe & secure here.

I recently had a great experience with the customer service from Ashley. From the moment I called to inquire about their services, the representative was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. They patiently answered all my questions and provided me with all the necessary information I needed to make an informed decision. When I visited their facility, the staff (Ashley) was equally as accommodating and professional. They guided me through the process, showed me different unit options, and made sure I felt comfortable with my choice. Overall, the customer service provided by Ashley exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of storage solutions.

I really appreciate Trish for helping me with the automated system and getting the app set up. It made it much easier for me and Trish does a really good job helping others learn what to do with the systems.

I chose this location due to proximity. When I set up my account, the employee kept pushing the rental insurance. I expressed I didn’t need it because I already have renters insurance that covers the storage unit. She insisted. I obliged. Ultimately, it added an unnecessary task to have it removed. I mention this because, to me, this demonstrated a pushy salesman agenda than the best interest of the client. Then I was unable to access my unit. I lucked out and arrived 15 minutes before the office closed. For some reason, my access was restricted to business hours only. This is a 24 hour facility. If I was 15 minutes later, the person that was transporting my belongings would’ve been stuck with everything until the next day. The reason I felt inclined to share my experience—- The initial rate was $108. Six months later, I received a notice of increase to $141. That’s a 30.5% increase! Before I called to inquire about the considerable increase, I checked the rates for new clients. It was the same rate I was offered when I signed up. I also looked at other nearby businesses. Their initial explanation was market rates. I told them I looked around and that was not what I observed. Then it was the increased cost to maintain the grounds. If the increase is due to market rate or operating costs, shouldn’t advertised amounts increase as well? Lured in based on special, then a huge increase. Most people would rather pay the price because it’s a hassle and costs money and takes effort to pack up and move your stuff. Shady business practices and no regard for existing clients. If you need a storage unit for less than 6 months, it’s not bad. If you’re planning to store for long term, look somewhere else.

Easy access and friendly staff. With a discount the pricing isn't bad. Access is through an app using your phone and has worked flawlessly for me. I am concerned if there's a power outage or the app goes down. There is no key backup that I can see. But it's a good convenient spot to put the stuff you should probably get rid of because you ran out of room in your house :p

Me and my mom just rented out a storage unit here and on top of loving the facility the customer service was great. When we got there, there was only 10 minutes tell closing but Tracy stayed overtime to help us get settled. 10/10 experience.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RENT A UNIT HERE IS YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY OR ACCESS TO YOUR OWN PROPERTY. Don't worry though, even if you don't have access to your unit because of company error, they will still bill you for the unit. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have had a unit or two here since they opened as Elevate, which was amazing. Kelly was great and handled everything smoothly. Since it turned into Public Storage, it has become an absolute nightmare. I was unable to access my unit due to some problems with their locks for nearly 3 full months, all while they continued to bill me. When I asked for them to resolve the matter I was offered 1 month credit by their District Manager Stacy. After saying that was absolutely not ok after not having access for months and not multiple hours several times trying to access and trouble shoot the unit, they finally credited me the other 2 months. This took several phone calls and lot of hassle and it was pretty clear to me that the customer service to resolve this was very begrudging. I was also told several times that I could move my items out of the storage unit if I didn't like the service (Not sure how I can do that when nobody could open my unit easily if at all). Move forward another 2 months...they raised the rent 30-40 a month. Final straw. I decided to move out. Elevate used to prorate your billing based on usage. Public Storage policy is to not prorate your billing if you vacate during the month, so they will happily keep your money while renting out your vacant unit to someone else. There are plenty of other places out there that give much better service, and I heard Kelly was building more storage units our In Nampa/Caldwell... I have several units at other facilities and spaces as well, anywhere is better than Public Storage.
