Their lawncare service blew all the cuttings and garbage out into the road. It is not only a mess but a safety hazard for ayone on 2 wheels. Get your money back and make your lanwncare company clean it up.

I had an exceptional at the Public Storage facility on Austin Drive in Decatur Ga and if at all possible the young man who assisted me today should be considered for a substantial raise. Keep up the good work.

When they say "climate controlled" what that actually means is "inside". They do not maintain or monitor the temperature whatsoever, so your property is very susceptible to damage which you have no recourse on. Do yourself a favor and go to a mom-and-pop company in the same area instead.

I had a problem with having a second floor unit and needed a ground unit because I have very heavy and bulky furniture. Nicole was great!!! She switched the unit and we only had to pay the difference for the larger ground floor unit. Very courteous and helpful.

Was originally scheduled for another location but discovered at the last minute there was only access till 6pm and I needed the latest time. Along the way I did encounter a very rude person in customer service but the all changed when I decided to go on my own to the Austin Dr. location where things changed for the better. Nicole was very helpful and knowledgeable of the size I needed also very patient,understanding,and listened to me when I was already upset from the customer service phone call. All I had to do was tell Nicole what I had and once I brought the items back everything fit with some space to spare and the price was very reasonable. Thanks again for going above and beyond something I don’t see very often in my community.

I moved out my Public Storage unit recently on 1504 Austin Drive, Decatur, GA, and discovered that rats had destroyed a good amount of my items, including mattresses, clothes and small kitchen appliances. I reached out to Public Storage about being reimbursed for my loss and they responded a day or so later saying I needed to have gotten their (third party) insurance. As a matter of law, they are still be liable for properly maintaining the premises, in particular, exterminating regularly. Apparently, the property has a serious rat infestation issue and they know about it. They are using the "insurance" option hustle to get out of reimbursing people for their negligence. I would advise people to steer clear of this location and company in general.

Do not rent a storage unit here. My unit and the hallway to my unit had giant roaches, trash that wasn’t picked up for weeks and the most rude front desk. The District Manager, Sean Marker, never responded to my complaint. There are several other storage companies on the same street, with better rates that are CLEAN. Go elsewhere.

The employee who assisted me with setting up my account was professional and knowledgeable about the process. This facility does not deserve the one star i gave but I to select 1 to even type my review. This storage facility has a WOOD RAT infestation , These rats have destroyed my brand new washing machine, they've eaten all of the plastic lines on the back of washer and ate one to the point where its unattached from washer. I'm sure the inside lines are eaten as well. my garden water hose has been mutilate...my items have been stored at this location since March. I have sent 2 emails to corporate about this and another matter which I will not go into on here and nothings been done but they are quick to lock you out of your unit if you do not pay. HELL you should not be in business! I was advised a region manager that i would be compensated for damages and I have not heard anything back. I'm so disgusted and angry i dont even feel like going through my other belongings. We have never had issues with rodents or roaches etc and this is just not acceptable. I was informed by someone with public storage that infestation is due to other customers storing food in the units , well i have no food in my unit and plastic water lines and rubber water hose is not household foods ;-/

Terrible. Their employee, Ebony, does not know what she’s doing, will make mistakes, and lie to cover herself. Their water pipes have been broken for several days, and their staff picks fights with each other (Ebony said another employee tried to get her fired by hiding the locks for customers). She curses, is wild, and unprofessional. There’s a reason her coworkers don’t like her. I wouldn’t trust this place unless they were more upfront with their issues.

The employees at this location deserves 5 stars however the owner does not, there was a break in and the lock on the unit I was renting wasn't broken but the guy who repaired the doors cut my lock off and I had to purchase another one because the owner wouldn't give his approval to replace the one I purchased and when I called numerous times I was never given a return call and also for numerous months after the break in those of us with inside units only had access to our units during this property business hours because there were pad locks on the doors and only the employees had keys to unlock them and during this time of limited access the rate increased, I don't think the customers should have to pay more money when we weren't given what was in our contract and that is access to our units from 6am till 9pm, Needless to say I moved out.

Mr. Ernest and Ms. Ebony are two of the most wonderful people I have ever met at a storage unit love their customer service. Paid attention to detail and every one who came in the facility.

Duane has very excellent customer service as was helpful in helping me find the best size unit.

I had my things at this facility and it got mold and mildew. So i made a claim lol they offered me $150 my damaged property. I will not being renting from Public Storage ever. The insurance they make you get isn't worth nothing it don't cover your property. They are just collecting free money from the renters. And i felt that was insult. First it started with the rodents and then water leaking inside my unit. I hope that doesn't affect the outstanding customer service that Mr.ERNEST give to the customers. My problem is with the insurance company.

They put up new card locks and it hasn't worked three time they haven't done a credit on unit for inconvenience caused by me being unable to get in due to new locks and they want you to pay on-time but I'm locked out the unit sad I won't recommend the one on Austin Dr plus they don't have a emergency contact and I was told I'll get a call when changes come about and didn't

I have had an assume experience with Mr. Ernest. He has a unlimited wealth of knowledge to give and share on the importance of customer service and business matters. I have stopped in.. not only to pay my rent...and even when I didn't have it to pay but I listen to and learn from him some life lessons that I pass along to my daughter. Not that I didn't get those lessons myself from my parents. We all need refresher courses in dealing with people and how to deal with matters when we come to crossroads that are going to happen. It's how we deal with people that will make or break how people patronize a business...I was at that crossroad and because of Mr. Ernest I am still a Public storage customer....Thank You Mr. Ernest. You do make Austin Dr. location what it is!!!!!

Great service. They answer the phone when I call. Their personnel is friendly and helpful. Clean and lighted so that I can sort through boxes. Ernest has been especially helpful and friendly...always smiling and offering a friendly greeting. Sometimes the days can be long and a kind smile or word really makes a difference.

I have rented from these people for years and they have the best customer service the site manager was great with anything i needed

I would give it 2 1/2 stars because its close to where I live, but due to an break in they lock the doors to the inside units and you can only get in while staff is still on the property:( I work on some weekends and cant always get there before they leave. Also since they bought out the original company, the District Manager has went up on the price 3 times. He is passing the cost on to us. Never had any burglary problems before PS took over. With the money they are charging, this company should have made repairs to the fence before the break in and the damage to some of the units. Yes, I've called to complain, waste of time. The last increase jumped up $17! Not $5 or $7. Hopefully my situation will change for the better:)

I have had an excellent rapport with management and staff who have offered great customer service.

I did not have a good experience at this location. First thing, I made a reservation for my son to rent a unit on Sunday. He called the office to make sure that he knew where the location was and the associate told him that she could not give directions, she can only give the address. My son got there and was told that he could not rent because he did not have proper ID. He lost his license and had a new one from the DMV which is legal ID but because it was paper, she would not rent to him. He came back with my other son to rent the unit, she then told them that she could not rent to them because they had to get the insurance that Public Storage sells. My son called my sister in law who is a former employee and she told him that he could decline the insurance. She was acting as if they were interrupting her day or something. After reading the reviews on this site, I cannot believe that this is the customer service that was given to my sons and if this young lady does not want to be bothered when she is at work, then she should not be working in customer service.....I did get the DM's number and do plan to call.

I was looking for a storage place where I could put large equipment. I had someone else call for me. The 800 number said nothing open but a unit on second floor. When I got there and spoke with the manager Ernest help me get the unit best for me. He showed me a number of units. The best in the area.

I have never had a storage unit before, so I had no idea what the procedures and idiosyncrasies were, but Nasha made the whole experience effortless and provided me with an excellent introduction to everything. She was friendly, and helpfully answered all of my questions. When one has to move, it is stressful, but she helped to make this aspect of it effortless. Kudos!

Prior to relocating back to Tampa, FL, I rented from this particular Public Storage facility on Austin Drive where I had the opportunity to meet Ernest. One of the BEST Customer Service representatives I have ever encountered. His professionalism, mannerism, as well as personality was impeccable. I have been using Public Storage for quite a few years, and I must say that I will always recommend this particular facility to all I know based on price, location, cleanliness, and again, ERNEST. Upon departing from my unit to relocate back to Tampa, FL, I shared with him why I had to depart (death of my son). He took the time out (of his busy schedule) to extend his condolences to me and my family. And to go a little bit further, he went out of his way to make sure my exit (without stress) went OK. My new experience with my new Public Storage facility (Lazy Lane, Tampa, FL) was the perfect location during my transition, so I commend Ernest for the job he is doing with Public Storage. Not only was he professional, and personable, he was also very considerate with other clients, based on my observation on a busy day. Not to forget, he was also very attentive and reliable. I highly recommend Earnest for a raise, promotion as well as a month off "ALL EXPENSE" vacation to anywhere he may desire. He well deserves it as much as Mary (on Lazy Lane) in Tampa, FL Both location employees have been very supportive and a major asset to your facilities. Today I rented a unit long term, this was my first time at this location ; I almost missed it but I am so happy I didn't. Mr.Ernest was AMAZING, great deal of patience, and most importantly Customer Service beyond HELPFUL! GOD BLESS & Keep Up The Good Work :-) I will become Loyal.

Reserved a unit on February 9th. Visited the location on February 10th. Met with the manager Ernest. He asked me what I was storing. I told him and he said let's take a look at that unit. He felt it may be too small. After I looked at the unit, he was right. He offered a larger unit and explained how it would be billed. I was very happy with the larger unit and so were the movers.

I have had less than ideal experiences with self-storage facilities but I am happy to say this Public Storage has given me the easiest time and highest quality service! All of the employees here have been great. Hailee was the employee who helped when I first began coming to this location. She really set the tone for that high quality service I'm talking about! She was very patient -- answered all of my questions clearly and seemed happy to be doing so. All in all ready and willing to aid in whatever way she could. This is the location to come to if you live in the Decatur/Lithonia area.
