Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 16217 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL

I have an out side unit and constantly had ghost ants all over my belongings. When I left a message cause there is no one there, I never got a response back. Now the lock to my unit has fallen apart leaving my storage unit exposed. When I asked the kiaosk to get a maintenance person in, I was told they don’t come in till later. Now I have to get my stuff and store it at my house till I find another company that cares for their customers and has someone on site during the open hours. Worst storage company ever.

On Aug 31 our contract ended. At 2 pm we were locked out and charged $250 for abandoned items. We were there at 7 pm to find this out. They close at 9 pm. We are unable to get the rest of our belongings. Adam the site manager won’t answer the phone or call us back. Customer service puts me on hold and hangs up on me or sends me to voice mail. It’s been over a week of trying. We couldn’t get there before the 31 st because of a hurricane and rented a truck to get the items. So disappointed in this company.

Recently, I rented a small climate controlled storage unit. When I got to the Storage facility and opened my app, finding my unit and opening very secure doors and gates was very easy!! I was so delighted with the pleasant experience!

This Public Storage has been run down for years, but I used it since it was so conveniently located. At least one elevator has been down for months. Every week there is a broken gate, broken door, or trash blocking entrances. We tried to move some large furniture pieces out recently and both elevators were down with no word from management. I tried contacting the manager several times and never get a call back. The air conditioned units on the third floor are worthless during summer, as they easily reach 90 degrees. Don't rent here.

Adam was amazing thank you so much for helping us find a storage unit adequate for our storage needs. He went beyond to help us. They didn't have what we needed at his location but he searched for one at a different location. He helped us submit the payment so when we went to the other location all we had to do is store our stuff! I highly recommend him and this location!

My recent visits to this location have been great! On 9/03 the young lady working store was very helpful with assisting me in finding the correct size wardrobe boxes I needed and we had great conversations while completing the purchase. Today 9/04 Adam helped me find a storage unit, unsure of what size I needed he showed me my options assuring me that it was not a problem at all while walking me around from unit to unit. When choosing the right unit for me, Adam walked me through the rental process quickly and efficiently! I started my move and by the tail end of our last load we came across Adam I complained of how tired I was we joked I introduced him to my mother whom was helping. The few minutes Adam took to wish us well made me feel like a valued customer and not just a number, so Thank you to the Public Storage Team at 16217 N Dale Mabry Hwy Tampa FL 33618. Oh can’t forget to share prices are easy on the pocket and the facility/purchasing office are very clean, organized, and orderly.

We have multiple units in this Public Storage location. Adam was a fantastic help each time I needed one. He helped me decide which size is the best and it has always been perfect for what we need. The facilities are always clean and I feel confident leaving my belongings there. Adam and the other employees I've seen checking the area and making sure everyone is OK and asking if the storage is working out. I truly appreciate it. As long as I live in the community I will be using this location for my storage needs. I have a 10x20 and a 10x15, as well as a smaller unit to hold my business signs and additional items I may need. Great customer service and well taken care. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Thank you!

Over all, best storage location ever. I had a 10 x 20 for a month and had to down grade to a 10 x 5 unit. They made the transition so easy. I recommend this location to anyone in the area!

Been renting at Public Storage for a couple weeks now and couldn’t be happier with the facility. Adam checked in on us the first day and has been very helpful every time we see him.

My mom has had a unit here for years and I just recently got one this past weekend. The service was amazing, the process was easy, and the prices were affordable.

I rented a unit from March to the end of April 2021. Carla managed my account during my stay and was real easy to work with. I thoroughly understood my lease terms, the unit's accessibility, and the cost of my unit and its insurance. Working with Carla was quite the pleasant experience, and I highly recommend her business to store your personal items.

I would avoid this facility, the staff is friendly but they change the prices without adequate warning. My issues could have been prevented on my part however with the price increase and losing my job with the pandemic it has been a struggle however I have kept up with my payment but have been recently charged a late fee for unit increase that was not told to me. They seem nice and they have good reviews but that is mostly because the employees are forced to beg for 5 stars reviews that were not warranted.

This was my first time renting a storage unit let alone having to store something in Florida. I have had this storage unit for some time now and hands down one of the worst experiences of my life dealing with a company. With the pandemic times have been less than favorable and with there policy changes honestly There are plenty of other storage options out there I would highly recommend choosing one of the competitors versus this company.

The front of this building has a lighthouse attached to it. Shirley is the bright light of this lighthouse who guides one as he or she signs up for a space. She is clearly an outstanding employee and person; very professional, very helpful and meticulously maintains the property as if it were her own. I have seen her sweeping the hallways which house the units; I have seen her washing the door and wall around the door, ensuring that her lighthouse is sparkling. Recently I returned to this lighthouse and spoke to Adam to keep a smaller unit more suited to my current needs. He was able to "size up" what we had left in our unit and found a unit that would be suitable for our newly reduced amount of "stuff". His seeking out the appropriate space was accurate to within one square foot! Then he kept swinging by to check on me as I transferred everything to the new unit. (I had told him that I recently had a pacemaker installed and at the age of 72, here I was in the house moving business!! So I was glad to see him several times as he checked on me!) This storage facility is still spotless, and everytime I visit it BEHIND BOSTON MARKET ACROSS FROM GAITHER HIGH, I am reminded that this is such a convenient place because of the entrance and the easy exit to Dale Mabry through Home Depot's light by weaving through the parking lots. Once again, it's the people who make the difference. Adam is a proactive worker locating a unit nearby to the older larger unit. making sure the billing was changed and reflected the newer smaller space and explaining the whole process.

I took a big step into adulting by buying a storage to hold furniture until i have bought my home, i had reached out to public storage and had received amazing information as well as help finding the tools I needed to move everything the same day. BIGGG shout out to manager ADAM for being the only staffed employee there and mainting the whole entire facility as well as great customer service and cleanliness among the whole area. He was constantly checking on the renters and making sure everyone was taken care of. Very up front with the problems that were being resolved while moving in and making sure everything was to my satisfaction. Great start to adulting !

Not knowing the typical routine I had the pleasure of meeting Shirley behind the desk☺️ What a doll she was! Sooo knowledgeable, so patient and pleasant I wanted to stay longer just to chat! My experience here because of her made a lasting impression and I will continue to use them in the future when needed.

From the time I moved in 16 months ago I have gotten nothing but excellent service. The facility is very clean and well kept and the hours I can access my unit are great. I keep a 127 yo upright piano here because it is climate controlled and feel very comfortable leaving my belongings in their care.

This place has a very big MOLD problem, the manager was informed in June about the problem. However nothing got done and now in October there's a huge mold problem on the inside of the structure. Some tenants has secured attorneys to handle their claims. Not sure how I'm going to proceed forward at the moment. When you're paying nearly $200 a month for a 10 by 10 area your items should be safe. Bottom line This is a corporation and they're only interested in their bottom line. However I did stop by lifestorage speak with them and they have got a 10 by 10 unit for basically half of what public is charging, and also it's clean as a pen inside and out. I can tell you this as soon as this mold matter is handled my items will be moved ASAP........ good luck to you and stay away from all public storage facilities! My opinion.

Shirley gets 5 stars. However, the unit my family rented was on the top floor and the roof over their unit sprung a leak. Some of their belongings were damaged by water. This was supposed to be a climate controlled unit.

5 stars to Shirley !! I want to thank Shirley, the new property manager, for being such a big help in assisting us when she discovered water in our unit on the third floor. Shirley went above and beyond, understanding our dilemma of water raining down from the ceiling onto our stored items, some of which were antiques from grandparents. These antiques will need to be refinished. My husband, our friend who helped us move out, and I all commend Shirley for the way she spoke with us, with understanding compassion. On another note, under her watch, the place was clean and spotless. 2 stars for the storage company for this reason: The previous manager always ignored our concerns about the ripped ceiling insulation (and a probable roofing problem) and that we had had previous water on our items. All ignored and a non-caring attitude. An assumption that he never told the company there might be a problem. All documented with my pictures. A requirement for renting a unit was insurance- either our own or through the storage company. We consulted our home owners insurance as to our coverage for the rental unit (yes we were covered!) But this water problem, especially during the 2019 summer months of continual daily rain and downpours, IS the responsibility of the storage company. I will 'rain down' on the review by giving it 2 stars, as it rained down in our unit.

Shirley and Adam where outstanding. They showed what great customer service is all about. They let me know all the rules and explained everything in detail. I would give Shirley a raise for sure. She takes ownership in this location and it shows. The only reason I am giving 4 out of 5 stars is the appearance of this facility. The appearance is beyond Shirley's control. District or Corporate needs to contract a Pressure washing company to remove green seasonal residue from entire outside of facility. The location is surrounded by a large amount of trees which keep in the humidity and cause this effect along with the great Florida weather. I have had a storage unit here for an embarrassing number of years due to unforeseen circumstances. My belongings have always been secure and I have always felt safe visiting this location. Staff over the years have been very helpful in numerous ways. I have dealt with Shirley most consistently for longer than the past year. She has consistently worked to keep the site clean and in good working order. My compliments to her and the rest of the staff for their diligence and professionalism.

Shirley was great !! She was always there when I needed something (lights). The reason I’m only giving them 1 star is because of the rate increase. I’ve been there 1 year and my rate has gone up from $150 to $212. There has been No improvements done to the place. The building and sidewalks are green with algae. As I was moving out there were bugs everywhere.

After going to multiple Public Storage facilities in search of a large unit to store all my belongings, the employee at the location I was at mentioned another location that had some available units. Feeling anxious, I headed over immediately to that location, where I was greeted by a great employee named Bonnie. Bonnie took her time to show me the available units and made sure I had everything I needed. Bonnie was a pleasure to work with!

I have rented storage space at the Tampa Northdale Public Storage facility for many years now. Over the years I've dealt with several different property managers, but the current manager Shirley is by far the most customer service oriented individual I've ever come across. Shirley is awesome and continually goes above and beyond what I expect from someone. Every time I've called her with questions or a situation, Shirley jumps on it and it's handled. When I've been there to pay my rent, there's Shirley cleaning or sprucing up the facility. It's obvious to me that Shirley's mission of helping her customers and making them feel important is her job #1 !! Shirley is the best !! Because of Shirley and the way she treats me and the other customers i've seen there, I wouldn't think of renting any where else. Shirley is a keeper !! Thanks Shirley for making me feel like a valued customer.

There's this lady that works there that has a severe superiority complex and is straight rude... I've been here 3 times and 3 times she's been rude to me.... I made an online reservation for a storage unit for something like 11:00 AM. I get there give Shirley my info and she says "I called you this morning to confirm your reservation and you didn't answer me or return the call". I said "you're right, but I did show up on time for the reservation I made"... To make the story short, she kept going back to the point of me not answering her call. It wasn't until I became a bit stern and said "please tell me if we can move forward with the transaction so I know if I have to find a different place" the she got to work.... The other 2 times were even more menial than this..... If you've read this far into this review, please save yourself the bitter taste of Shirley's attitude and go elsewhere.

I used Public Storage about 10 years ago. It was secure, clean, and convenient. When I found I needed a storage location again, I chose the same Public Storage I used before. It was even better this time! Sophia made it easy by showing me different sized units to get the best fit for my needs, and the application process was quick! The rates are much better than other storage options, too. My only request is to have more carts on each level. Both 10 years ago and now I had to search for a cart to use to move things between my car and the storage unit. This is why I couldn't give them a 5 star rating!

We just rented with this location on January 3rd. We were very pleased with the size of our unit. Sophia was amazing, very helpful and personable. The only thing that would make this location even better would be to allow access until 10:00 pm. Great place!

Brandi recently assisted me with renting a unit. This is my second time renting at this location. The service is always great! Brandi was so nice and very professional. She made me feel comfortable by explaining all the safety and security measures of this location. The location was very clean. I would definitely recommend renting a storage unit at this Public Storage facility.

It's in a decent area, climate controlled, and no issues so far. They have plenty of size options. I didn't shop the rate but it was reasonable at 100.00 per month. It's now 150.00 I've been there a couple of years. I didn't shop the rate so I recommend doing that and asking what happens to rate at renewal.

This location is in an excellent area. The staff I dealt with was extremely helpful, helping me find the exact unit I was looking for. I dealt with 2 different on-site personnel as well as the regional mgr at one point and they all had a great attitude and were very helpful. I highly recommend anyone needing a unit to use the public storage. I've had a great experience with them.

The Experience was very good. I learned alot about the options and sizes of storage units. Jessica was very friendly and helpful. She spent lots of time showing me units and explaining everything to me. I didnt end up renting a unit because I didnt move yet. But I would recommend this location to anyone who is in need of a storage unit.

Had to move from 2 storage units in Bradenton to Tampa - in a hurry. Very stressed and bewildered! Amanda & Jessica were great and incredibly patient with me at my initial visit. Then Betsy was great, and incredibly patient ;) with me when I moved in. The facility is spotlessly clean, the surrounding area safe and well maintained. I made the best choice, plus I got a great deal!

Adalis was so sweet and helpful! I even got to my reservation a little late and she took care of me all the same! Totally recommend this location; it's easily accessible and the staff is great. :)

Adalis, site manager, was excellent. She took the time to explain everything and take me on a site tour. The site was very busy the day I moved in, but she made you feel like my business was important. She wanted to make sure all my questions were answered and that my rental experience from Public Storage met my expectations. I highly recommend this location for all your storage requirements.

This was my first time renting a storage unit. Shirley was very detailed in the units available and the pricing. Even though I believed I may have needed a larger unit. She wanted to show me the cheaper of the units first to see if this would work. Instead of taking me to the one I believed I needed and paying more. The smaller unit once seeing it I decided would actually work with what I had to store and would be the cheapest of the options. She went over every detail of the paperwork and afterwards even walked with me to the entry gate to try the code and make sure it worked. This was a great experience.

Just a heads-up folks...this is a terrific facility! Morgan and his staff are simply awesome to work with and the facility is one of the best maintained facilities that I've run across. Our business venture has our family traveling through several counties and making large purchases which require storage at various times and locations throughout the month. I have never, never been disappointed when we rent at Morgan's location. I wish I could give it more than five stars...sadly I can't...but I would if I could! Kudos, Morgan!

I have had a unit a this facility for awhile. Morgan the manager is always very nice and helpful when I stop by once a month to make my payment. Sometimes I forget the due date and he gives me a call reminder so I am not charged a late fee.

I kept everything I owned in storage here while I was out of state on business for 10 months in NYC and it was a great experience. Whenever I called they helped me with any questions and when I came back today to clear out my unit Morgan and Meagan helped me out a lot and all my stuff was in perfect condition like I left it.

James and Morgan are always friendly and helpful and the facility is always clean. When i have found a problem, automatic lights not working on second floor, they took care of the problem. My only problem with public storage is that they raise the rental fee every year with no apparent benefit to show for the extra rental fee. I have rented a unit at this facility for a number of years, but another increase and i will be looking else where.

I have been sharing a unit with my sister for over a year now and still have nothing but positive thoughts about this Public Storage location. Today I had to run by but it has been so long I forgot the code to get in. Went into the office, the associate James took the necessary information to verify I am the owner of the unit and helped me out. Quick and easy. After I left the property I had a nagging feeling I mistakenly left something out of my unit. I called and James was happy to check out the unit for me. Sometimes when things like this happen you can sense "annoyance" in an associates voice but James was super pleasant and more than happy to go check for me. He called me back within 5 min and I was good to go. I know it was a simple task, but all the same, greatly appreciated the friendly, efficient help. Thanks James for your help today and a great experience. Keep up the great work!

We have a had lots of discussions about slimming down and getting smaller to which they lend a patient ear and offer their best options which we appreciate. A very convenient and quiet location. I can't say enough great things about Public Storage in Northdale. Let me be honest, I had always been nervous about storing my items in a mini-storage facility because of the stories I've heard in the past about storage units as they relate to insects, odors, and theft. I could not have possibly felt any safer storing my items, including an heirloom piano, at Public Storage in Northdale. This has to be the cleanest storage facility around, and the staff there, namely Morgan and James - whom I worked with over the course of the year that I utilized the premises - are fantastic. Most of the units are accessible indoors and they let you borrow free, heavy-duty dollies to convey your items in and out of your units. They're also conveniently located near a rental truck facility, in case the trunk of your sedan or the bed of your pickup truck won't cut it! If you need to store your belongings, do yourself a favor and contact Public Storage in Northdale today. Trust me, you'll love this place.

Wow! What a wonderful facility. I just moved from Michigan and was very glad I found this Public Storage; it was very clean and everything (loading carts) were easy to access. James was outstanding and made our move enjoyable. From the beginning he was easy to deal with and answered all of our questions. He gave us a tour of the facility and made sure all of our storage needs were met. James is very customer service oriented and definitely knew all aspect of the facility that concerned us. Convenient location in Carrollwood across from Gaither High School. Competitive pricing that I found to be the cheapest for me. Morgan helps me most often.Very polite and calm. He is always focused on me as a customer, wanting to help however possible. I do appreciate that. Sorry I can't give you the fifth star. It would require Wi-Fi and a coffee bar. If you are looking for a place to store your stuff it that part of town, check it out.
