I honesty don't even know how to put this into words but I'll try. Stephanie is one of a kind She is very kind and very informative. It's a good huge corporation. Public storage Uhaul has got it all except a piano mover that will move my upright down a single set of stairs for less than 800. I got rid of one place and got a bigger one with a roll-up door and direct drive-up load to the unit. I feel like one of Beverly Hills hillbilly that just saw the first of its kind in the big city. Very convenient for the Winnetka and Sherman Way public. Storage loc as thin was for a long time it got absurd in how quick and how much they charged over time I was paying for it twice its size so they gave me a break on raising it every 6 months so I had to get out at the new place its cost the same as the small unit. So it's good I am in the new place and it is just easier and sized for my needs. It's amazing how many things we people keep... we get so attached to stuff we don't have to have but want. For me I am in my 50s I bought that stuff as a projects and I saw something at great prices knew I would pay for and barely use that welder but it's good as I get older. I still have a time-consuming play with my storage unit of RC cars and materials to build stuff. I think at my age it seemed you were not going to buy everything as disposable as it is nowadays. You got s good one and you are set yet new models come out yearly yearly. Just wood I love to use in bilds hss double or crippled its price . I had been getting all my wood from furniture throw out stuff during covid. So my storage is now my almost time capsule of memories and stuff I want to do to stuff I wss into almost a history and my life and its treasures
I wish storing you stuff was like on pc . I sort it like a game maci.ixing the space and then public storage wiukd have robots go and do how yiu showed them likevdefraggong a real life storage unit lol . So get right on yhat idea public storage

I want to warm people who has rented storage units or thinking about renting one, in March 7th my unit was broken into and they stole a few things that are very expensive, I didn't hear anything from the management it wasn't until April 27th that I went there saw that my lock was removed and it was replaced with one from the office, when they went to open the unit I saw all the mess that it was there and noticed that there were items they missing. I do not understand why they didn't do anything or try to reach me, they had my phone number they had my email address and I didn't receive anything. I am very very disappointed with this management.

We’ve now had our unit broken into THREE times in less than a year! And we even moved to the 24 hour ones that you have to punch a code to get into the hallway 2 months ago, after our other one got broken into twice, thinking this would be more secure, nope! We found out that the like 10 ppl who have units in that hallway don’t all different codes, it’s the same for that hallway, and when someone moves out, or defaults on their unit and it’s auctioned away ( which we found out happened, they didn’t pay for a year) they don’t even bother changing the code!! We have had storage units at other places, and never been broken into, and here it’s been 3 times in less than a year! And are they doing anything to amp up security with all the break ins? Nope! And the staff could care less, didn’t even tell my mom “were so sorry” after she came to tell them in the office our unit, and others in that hallway, had been broken into. We had a bunch of stuff stolen, some that can’t be replaced. We should be able to put things in there and trust they are secure. And not have to worry about if we’re only putting things in that are easy to replace.
This place is the worst, you can guarantee we will be moving to a different place immediately. It seems like this place is broken into all the time, because it’s been broken into other times when our unit wasn’t broken into.
They clearly don’t care about how often their location is broken into and doing anything to make it stop happening, because it just “happens at storage units” and “that’s why you have insurance.” But it’s unacceptable.
DO NOT GET A UNIT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR THINGS STOLEN! Go to another one that doesn’t seem to constantly be having break ins and actually cares about making it more secure.

I recently rented a storage unit and upon arrival on move in day, I found a lock on my unit. I went into the office to see what was going on. Tanner was very helpful. He explained there was an issue with the door opening and closing. He told me he would check into transferring me to another unit. There were not any of the same size available, so he was able to transfer me to a larger unit in a better location for the same price. Thank you Tanner for your help and going above and beyond to ensure my needs were met.
I e. We. In this unit for less than thirty days, advised I would only use the unit for about 3 weeks , and I’ve already had collection calls, threats of credit bureau reporting and basically 20 collection calls for being in the unit about 12 days. Being harassed to pay for a month I won’t even be here. Reported to BBB , also unprofessional associates that lack serious customer service etiquette.

I've been a customer of this facility for a little over a year and in that time they raised my rent by $200/m.
Besides the extortion practices over rent the facility has once accidentally drilled my lock and went into my unit mistaking it for a neighbors unit and for their gross over charging have a newly installed second gate that is not remote access and I have been told will most likely never be. This along with the increase when I finally spoke up about how insane it was in a year was met with the option of moving units to the same size in the facility to use a promotional rate or hold my rent for 3 months and after that I'm on my own.
Public Storage baits you in with cheap promotion rates and then twists your arm when you're settled in providing a subpar facility for NYC priced rent.

I’ve had a storage unit here for longer than I would like to admit. Over the years, the monthly rate has crept up but my temporary relocation to the east coast turned out to be several years.
Just recently I looked at all the discounted rates online and called the facility to ask if I could take advantage of the new rates if I moved to a different unit. I spoke with Alex who was very helpful and informative, and went into the facility the next day to relocate my items. In person Alex continued to be incredibly helpful. He secured me a unit that was just one aisle from my old one and demonstrated exceptional customer service.
Over the years I’ve had minimal contact with the staff but I must say that every manager I’ve spoken with has been very nice. However, I wanted to call out Alex due to my most positive experience with him.
I have had a space with PUBLIC STORAGE for a few years - they have a very good security system. There have been changes in personnel - occasionally there is a situation something needs to be resolved . I have had especially a great experience with Alex – he understood the issue and resolved it very quickly - he’s perceptive, quick and very effective! PS has excellent customer service -Thank you Alex.!❤️

Update2024: Quality of service has gone downhill very much and rental rates have skyrocketed and are ridiculous. Hours of access have been shortened. I have moved from this facility and would not recommend them any longer./////////This is the best storage facility I've used. Helena has always been helpful and friendly, knowing her clients well. Very misleading storage unit descriptions on their website… apparently an “outside” unit is actually “inside”. Yes, figure that one out!
Also, the Manager at this facility is rude and argumentative. I was frustrated because I paid more for an “outside” unit, then arrived with a full truck full of furniture only to be told that it was actually “inside, down a hallway”. The Manager didn’t want to deal with it, was not empathetic to the situation at all, and decided she was finished talking to me. Definitely would not recommend this location.

Very poor experience. They installed double gates to get in and they've had issues with getting them to work properly. The app won't open the gate after several tries. You get lucky if it actually works on a rare occasion but you usually have to get out and key in code. So if you don't remember your code you can't get in. Also the gate gets stuck while opening and only opens half way or starts closing as you are trying to drive in. They also lock up the carts for use if you go at the end of the day. The elevators also take forever to move, and they don't connect well with the app either. You have to constantly retry to enter code or use app until it finally works right. No restrooms, no trash cans, hours of operation aren't great.
Spoke with Daeisy today. She was very courteous and professional. Helped me with my issue to my satisfaction.

Never left a review before but buyer beware of the Northridge Public Storage, as initially you would think the owner/management is extremely responsive and communicative when they are trying to secure a sale. My unit was broken into and no one notified us. We found out four months later. This is not a secure location. This specific location is extremely disappointing as I was contacted probably 8 times when I got an online quote for a unit. However, once we were paying customers - absolute radio silence when my unit was broken into and the facility decided to place their own lock onto my unit without contacting anyone to let us know. So we were never informed we could not access the unit or provided a key. No acknowledgement that we purchased their lock which is an additional amount on top of your monthly contract. Staff onsite has zero accountability or documentation of their attempts to follow up.
U-haul offers free storage deals with competitors when you use their services so I would save your $$ and look into that if you’re moving. This was a very inconvenient experience for my family and I regret trusting this location based on others recommendations.
Zero stars if it were possible since the entrances aren’t even fully functional and there are campers and possibly homeless people living out of their vehicles outside of the other entrance gate. Best of luck if you choose to give them your business!

I'm a LA transplant coming from Montana, I new moving here required a storage unit to save up space in my car, but it took me almost 2 years to save up for a good one. A former roommate suggested a Public Storage, so I finally decided to give PS a try today! The desk clerk Alex helped me out as soon as I walked in and we bonded and clicked like THAT! I'm definitely not bailing this storage unit after the first month!

ROACH INFESTED. If you want to open your storage locker and find roaches crawling all over your personal belongings then by all means rent from this location. After Helena left this location I wish I had been warned of the new management. Helena kept it normal for 20 years that I rented and after visiting about a year ago I found out she left and while walking through the indoor hallways I started noticing roaches crawling. It wasn't until I opened my locker that I realized the entire building was infested (including my locker). I was so grossed out I didn't touch anything. I went to the office and they expressed that they were trying to get the conditions under control (like, whatever that meant). It was already out of control! There was another customer in the lobby office that claimed he took roaches home after previously visiting his storage locker at this location. How dreadful.
And by the time I arrived home I realized I didn't ever want to visit that place again. MY BELONGINGS WERE CONTAMINATED AND DESTROYED! My military service uniforms, international medals, awards, accolades, and everything in between. And then the managers had the audacity to try to CHARGE ME for emptying my storage --as if I wanted to return and combat roaches due to their carelessness! How tacky of them. When I say they were everywhere --they were EVERYWHERE. Keep in mind, I've been at this location for 20 years and visited at least 3-4 times/year. It was always normal and clean. Roaches were NEVER there.
Roaches were never mentioned in my contract. They will not receive a red cent from me after ruining my keepsakes, personal property, and memorabilia. Trust me, I have videos and photos. Helena was a great asset to this location. Now, I guess roaches are the 'new normal' for this location. If you like roaches, this is the place for you. For all others -BEWARE!!!

Deaisy helped me by explaining to me what my best options for the units were. She went out of her way to make sure I understood all my options. I could have gotten a unit at another storage company for cheaper but because of Deaisy’s customer service I decided to stay here. I can’t say enough about her. I have never received customer service like she gave me.

I was going to make this a one star review but after speaking with David over the phone I ended that phone call more than satisfied with his ability to answer, solve and explain my questions and concerns, I had to give HIM five stars. Exemplary service!
During my visit to public storage on February 20, 2024, I was greeted by Chris. He had such a positive attitude, was very helpful, and made the transaction very easy.
- Unit located outside in one of the drive up hallways was broken into along with many others
- Staff did not notify me of break in. I found out when I went to my unit and there was a blue lock that didn't belong to me.
- Staff said it was not their responsibility to tell me that there was a break in
- I found out weeks later and now I have to deal with filing a police report (not easy, time consuming, slow) and eventually the insurance claim
- my lock was not broken, thieves bent the metal piece that you place your lock on
- Public Storage has not offered any time of compensation besides moving me to a unit inside at the same rate, for now anyway
-They failed to call me to report the break in but the district manager called to harass me to get out of the unit quickly, the nerve right!
- their motto is "We treat your stuff like our stuff" they don't care about your stuff.

I had a very bad experience at this location right on December for the holidays & several other tenants as well. They're very unsecured that Several units got broken into & their security around is very unsecured. I had inspected my self to figure out how they got in & noticed at the end Northwest corners & it was where all the burglars have their access to get in & out. They replied to me by saying they were not responsible for our own units & not even trying to help you out to call the police for you. So, I don't recommend it at all...If you wish to make an investigation with the Police to find out exactly how many 💔 ins they had...? Go ahead & see that I'm not making it up at all...Good Luck if you decide to get a unit there.

I would give zero stas if I could. Raised my rent by $100 (almost 20%) with only 30 days notice that I never received.
Tried to claim that it was the market rate for my size storage unit, which is blatantly untrue. Poor conditions, holes in the walls, bugs, and no climate control like they claim.
In the state of California it is illegal to raise rent in these units by more than 10% in a 12 month period without a 60 day notice, but they clearly don't care, and I'm shocked no one has reported them for this type of behavior.
Please, find somewhere that wont charge you almost $700 for a 10x15 space. Or at least find a place that can justify a price like that, because its completely inexcusable here.
Kim at the Shirley location has one of the BEST customer service skills I've ever seen. I would gladly give my business to a company with people like this who represent a company's vision so well. This place is absolute the worst place!! They placed a blue lock on my storage unit for no reason!! My bill was due 8/1 and I paid it 7/29 and my insurance of $15 was paid on 8/02 and they still placed a lock on my storage. I had movers scheduled to move my items out of This dump with the worst customer service, I have never been late on my bill and I have to pay the movers an extra hour and half to wait for the office to open. No one at public storage will give us any information as of why and the rude agent said regardless you have to wait. This is the worst experience.

Only been with public storage for about 6 months price has already been raised to from 92 “locked rate” to 108 to now 128 I have talked to customer service and they say we are subject to increases at anytime I asked for reason and they could not provide one all they can say is that their prices are still competitive beware if you don’t want a month to month price increase!

Came her for a price quote. Sheila gave my mom a tour of the facility and she loved the ac controlled building. It was a couple dollars more expensive but climate controlled and safe area. Easy elevators and carts available A.S.A.P. a must. My mom is difficult but Sheila was patient.

Beware that public storage will raise your prices after being here for only a few months. Half the time I arrive at this location the gates are broken. Currently sitting here for an hour waiting for staff to come and fix the gate.

Storage units are storage units, so employees make the difference. Nathan made what could have been a really bad situation so smooth. I noticed an urgent maintenance issue in our unit and he was on it immediately.
When we determined shortly after that my stuff would have been at risk of getting damaged when they fixed it (leaking roof), he found me an open unit just 4 doors down and offered to help me move nearly the entire contents of a 10x10 unit.
I have some really heavy bins in there (tools, books, etc) so there's no way I could have done that on my own. I'm deeply grateful! He took what was a really overwhelming situation to fully resolved in 90 minutes. I do really wish this particular location had later access hours, but the staff have always been great. Thanks again!

I'm really posting this review for Sheila, the current manager of the Public Storage in Northridge (on Shirley Avenue). While I sometimes get frustrated with the corporate side of PS, Sheila has been great to work with as an onsite manager. Sheila has gone out of her way to offer assitance and be supportive of those renting space in the building. She lends a caring, personal touch to a company doesn't always take the time to acknowledge the individual renter. Much appreciation for her.

Ok storage space facility. Only problem is they cut off access for some reason very early. At 5 now. Used to be 9, like all the other similar places around. Then they cut it to 6. And now it's 5. Which is pretty ridiculous. Plus the rent goes up every year. So you pay more for less.
If you're looking for a storage space and don't mind not being able to access it after 5pm. Then it should suit you. Otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

I arrived to this Public Storage location after another local location had rented out my reserved spot the day before my movers were coming. (SMH) David helped me and he was amazing! Even though it was his first day on the job at this particular location, he was able to help me locate the available unit I had just reserved online, quickly secure it for me, and teach me how to use the special lock and key, door codes, etc. I definitely recommend this location and if you need anything, David will be able to make sure you have a fantastic experience. He is very professional, quick, helpful, and personable.

I am leaving this review for Danny at the front desk of this public storage. Danny is very kind, professional, and caring when it comes to helping out a customer. He goes above and beyond his work duties to make sure the customer is satisfied. He showed my mother and I several storage units and tried to lower to my monthly payment for my current unit. This public storage location is very convenient for me because it is close to my house and it is very clean. It is also right by the Northridge Fashion Center Mall. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a new storage unit.

It appears that there was a problem with the phone lines. at the location at the time I called, and the disconnection I experienced was unintentional. The manager Helena called the next day to explain and resolved the situation to my satisfaction.
