Laney Rainey is the best manager ever! Super-professional. Super-friendly. Today I visited the Escondido facility for the first time. With great hospitality, Laney showed me around, explained how units differ, explained the logistics and found the most comfortable unit for me! She even helped me to complete and submit my application, adjusting the date and my customer information. Thank you so very much, Public Storage, for finding amazing managers like Laney.

Awesome excellent customer service !

Their hours on here are misleading. You have to have an appointment to talk to someone in-person and those folks leave at 5pm. In order to check the place out, you are forced to arrange via their aggressive corporate (not local) sales team who give you the wrong info and talk over you. Then when you find out they gave you the wrong info and you call back and end up with a different salesperson, he has a nearly identical approach as the last and doesn't care about resolving or even apologizing for the issue his coworker made. I ended up talking to 4 different people; no one of them apologized nor fixed the issue. They either talk over you or redirect you.

Stopped by this facility while away from home . Michelle was very helpful. She assisted me in getting my account in order for storages in Colorado. She was friendly and very professional. I would definitely recommend this facility for having a great person providing excellent customer service. She is a great asset to the company.

Amelia was super helpful! She went above and beyond what I expected. I also injured my leg in the gym and she showed me a faster route to my unit. 5star service.

TL;DR Storage was broken into 3 days after moving in. Facility only has one camera at the entrances. Insurance coverage limit was $5000. $6000+ worth of belongings stolen and recieved less than have of coverage limit. FIND A DIFFERENT STORAGE FACILITY First time having to use a storage unit and completely regret choosing this place. For starters they gave my reserved unit to someone else. I have gone to the office 3 times now during open hours and there is no one there. It has now been six days since I rented this unit and when I went back today my unit had a new lock and my old one had been cut off. I go to the front desk and there is no one there. The only worker had to stop her lunch she was having in her car to help me out so props to her. I am then told that she doesn't know why someone else took my lock off and replaced it with a lock that Public Storage sells. There is no note in my account that would explain this situation. I am then told that I would have to hire a locksmith, without any reimbursement, to remove the new and strange lock or that I would have to wait 2 weeks for their regional manager to return from his vacation since he is the only one who can break a lock. She then called her superior and I could hear her through the phone saying the same thing with zero sense of urgency or care. It baffles me how there is only ONE person who can break the locks and when he leaves on a 3 week vacation we all just have to wait for him to return. So for the next 2 weeks I dont know if all my belongings have been vandalized and/or stolen thanks to their management choice of only having one person in the whole region who can break a lock. The only good thing is that I got the insurance for my unit even though I know that if I do have to make a claim, that's going to be another headache and weeks or months before I receive any compensation. The one dollar for your first month is really enticing, but take my advice and look elsewhere. Some place where they have at least 2 people on staff and cameras near your unit. I will update this review depending on how the manager handles this situation when he returns. March 11th UPDATE. My unit was actually broken into and burglarized. My guess is they put their own lock on there so they could come back another day and steal the rest since they were so confident in the negligence of this company. Claim was filed Dec 29th through the insurance they provided and after 74 days, 10+ unanswered emails and countless voice-mails I left, I finally received a payment. My insurance coverage limit was $5000 and even though they stole more than $6000 worth of stuff, I only received less than half of my coverage because not only do you need proof of purchase for every single item that was stolen (boxes that had my personal bills, receipts and tax forms were also stolen), they also drastically devalue all your belongings. (2 year old $3500 camera was valued at $1200) I hope you learn from my mistake. Keep your valuables somewhere else, but if you must... keep your receipts and take pictures of everything you leave in your storage. Most importantly, find a storage facility that has cameras facing the actual storage units and workers there daily to at least deter would be thiefs.

Moving in at public storage was a quick and easy process. Ameila had helped me find my unit and gave really good customer service

This review is for the staff specifically at this Brotherton location and most definitely not for Public Storage as a whole, the corporation, or their policies, practices, and pricing. I worked with Amelia just in the last few days, as well as Ryan back in 2023 (who I understand is no longer there). Both were incredibly helpful and empathetic in trying to navigate the repetitive and excessive price increases imposed by corporate. Ultimately the price increases drove me elsewhere, but Amelia was super kind and helpful upon my move out. She made the transition smooth and I couldn't recommend her any more. Thanks Amelia, know that you're appreciated!

Way too much

Not even 1 month of having my storage space it got broken into. Use your own lock

Beware! Our storage unit was broken into at this facility. Security is sub-par and there are only video cameras at the points of entrance/exits, whereas many storage facilities also have cameras in the hallways. The staff is nice, but didn't seem too concerned that our unit was broken into and stuff was stolen.

Went on 1/21/24 and found that the unit that I’m paying for has a different lock. When I went to the front desk to inquire, ayoung woman offered to go and take a look. The “new” lock is of the same kind they sell and even as a decal with business name to which she denied that was one of theirs. Filled the form for someone to remove the lock (have to wait for their availability to do so) and will go from there. When I was there there was a gentleman waiting for the police to file a report (seems his unit was broken into). Have read the reviews and seems this an ongoing and recurring issue.

After only 3 weeks of renting my unit was broken into when asked the employees seemed kinda nervous about it... It's a nice facility but obviously not as secure as I was told it would be....

DO NOT trust this place with your belongings they will get STOLEN. My brother stored his stuff while moving and after a few days all his belongings were stolen. My brother got the insurance that covered him and the company is saying they can’t pay him out because of the lack of “evidence”. There is some shady stuff going on this place. Do not trust the company, staff, or anyone associated.

Thinking about moving to CA, so I called to talk about renting a unit and spoke with Amelia. She was so knowledgable and eager to help I immediately felt comfortable about leaving my belongings here. Wish everyone could be as helpful as her!

We emptied out our storage two days before the 1st, account was still trying to charge we called but no on answered we went to the facility and no one was there working. Called customer service lady was very rude, then said she took care of it. Next day we get charged. Very unprofessional don’t waste your money here. Will be filing a charge back with my bank, don’t know how they can get away with charging when you’ve moved out your stuff.

I have been with this PS for almost 3 years. I hate that they are month to month and have raised my rent every 6 months. They are already expensive as it is. If you are late and request a 1 time fee removal they will deny you. They dont care how good of a customer you are. There is never anyone in the office, carts are hard to find if you are lucky. Once my phone died and I could not exit because the machine was not working to put my number in I usually open door thru Bluetooth. I wish they cared about their customers who are faithful not everyone can afford a rent increase that often.

I had 2 units there and when it was time to move my things out I had a complicated personal situation. One of the staff members, Ryan went above and beyond to help me through it. I would highly recommend this facility and it's outstanding staff!

Ryan and Lavi are the best!!!! They're friendly, respectful and helpful... facility is clean !✨ I worked for a different storage company at one point and I'll tell you that this location is pretty well on top of things. I definitely recommend this location for all storing /moving needs!

Worst customer service experience. The worst of corporate America ever!!!!

Lavi and Ryan who work at the front desk are extremely helpful and kind. They helped me get set up and went out of their way to provide me the best service possible. Also they are just very happy and nice people! The other storage unit I went to the employees were always short and grumpy. Five stars-

I booked a place because it is close to my house. Came on Saturday and they were super busy... I booked the wrong size. Could have been a nightmare situation, but Lavi was able to take care of our situation and help other customers. He was very helpful and stayed calm which really helped me, because it was all very stressful. Could have been a really rough moving experience, but Lavi saved the day!

My mom's place recently flooded so she and I frantically drove over to Public Storage in Escondido and let me tell youuuuu.....we were dumbfounded by Ryan's EXCELLENT customer service. Even though we came in with the worst attitude, Ryan was not only extremely patient, but he also catered to my mom by trying to speak Spanish. Sorry about the "trying" part Ryan (haha) you are a true GEM. Thank you so much we are so happy we found a safe and secure place to store her belongings during these difficult times.
