Hours are short, bathrooms are always broken, gates are difficult to traverse, *and* Public Storage supports Autocrats and Cheaters.
Don’t store your stuff here. The company is extremely aggressive. With less than 30 days late because of a credit card malfunction, the company not only threatened auction, but also cut my lock. This is actually illegal according to CA law. Avoid this location at all costs.
Came to rent a unit and this place was packed. 2 people working the office PJ helped us, and TY? Both were helpful and not normal to see people multi tasking these days. Both gave a tour of the property for unit sizes. Felt like a field trip. Got the right unit and very clean facility.

My family’s experiences with Public Storage and specifically the employees here has been nothing but positive and classy. My father had been renting a unit here for a good few years until he passed away recently. Our family was so distraught with his passing and our whole world was crashing down around us. Joseph was the first person to pick up the phone when we called in regards to my father’s unit. From the start he was incredibly professional and very heartfelt. Just when we thought things were going to get harder, he was able to make us feel so much comfort and ease during what should have been a very devastating process. He spent time with us personally and assisted us as we cleared his unit and listened to us talking about the many silly memories we had attached to his items. He spent a lot of time during that week just talking to us and letting us cry. I have never been treated with so much kindness and compassion by someone who would have been a stranger. Joseph will always have a special place in our family’s hearts and for any storage needs we will only ever choose this Public Storage.

We reserved a unit on Sherman Way in Winnetka CA. Victor was very helpful and professional while walking us through the reservation process. He checked in with us while we loaded the unit and helped us get carts. An easy experience overall!
One of the selling points when I got the unit was that there are dollies available to use. Half the time they are no where to be found. Today I went and was happy to see 3 of them by the front gate only to find out that they were locked up. No one in the office. This is very frustrating.
UPDATE - Public Storage reached out to me the next day to discuss the issue and let me know that a number of carts have gone missing (Geez) and they have more on order. Unfortunately that has resulted in the need to lock up the remaining ones. She also let me know how to get hold of the manager in advance to make sure there is a cart available. I was also informed that the manager is sometimes out of the office on the property. Very helpful and super responsive.

He continues to impress us with his knowledge and willingness to make our experience with our unit and managing our payments. He has the best recommendations to economize our long term storage needs. We had an opportunity to move to a lower cost storage location but with his insight and help, we decided to continue renting at Public Storage Winnetka. Thanks, Eric!!!

Suggest that you NEVER, EVER, EVER store any valuables or heirlooms in a storage unit, especially at this location. Use storage units for furniture, appliances and other big items. We were long-time renters at this location and a couple of times over the years, we were delinquent enough on rent to cause staff to cut our lock to perform an "inventory" on the unit. (This allowed them to go in there to see what was in the unit in case they had to put it up for auction.) We caught up on rent and secured our unit with our own lock. However, when we moved out, we didn't immediately unpack every box so a few dozen boxes were just moved into our new garage. We noticed years later that there were a number of missing items from our boxes...small items like fancy pen sets, coin collections, (now) rare kids toys and tools. If you do move into this facility, keep a good inventory of your items, with pictures. That way you can report missing (or stolen) items or track them down if they're being sold on eBay.

I had a very unfavorable experience with this storage facility it was hard to get a hold of the property manager and after leaving a voicemail twice some female employee returned my call and she was very curt and dismissive to any of my questions.
I wanted to give one star in my review but the second star is for Chris ( relief manager ) as he happened to be in charge of this particular facility on the day I called and he went above and beyond to help answer all my questions unlike the other female employee.
We vacated our unit as the unit price was raised on us by over a hundred dollars in the last eight months and the day we went to vacate our unit I had the opportunity to meet the manager Hope and it was a little difficult to locate her on the premise and she seemed aloof and didn’t seem to care about customer retention as I did try to discuss with her the price hike situation and if she was able to look into helping lower the price as we would have stayed.
I recently went to public storage and Hope was so friendly and helpful with my questions and a very nice worker and person this woman deserves a raise thank you so much for helping me and my family.
