Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 271 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL

I’m changing my review from negative stars to five stars . I am only doing this because of Carmen the property manager ! Everyone else I’ve dealt with like the greedy customer service reps who lie cause I found out they make commission and say they do not see the online promotions am charge u full price , and the ins rep who lied as well , yes mamm u told me I didn’t have to do anything and then after charging me told me I was supposed to call back and cancel it before the first not on the first . That has nothing to do with the property manager! I did not know this at first . Seems like they kinda got the managers in a position where their hands are tied. All I know is if u rent from here bypass customer service do not give in to them and speak to the property managers . They are the ones who can walk u thru things the right way . I wish I had known this in the beginning . Should have done my homework first on how this Corporation runs their business . Customer service led me down the wrong path from the very beginning And when I asked to speak to the property manager, I was told that I couldn’t. I had to deal with them that the property manager was only to confirm my Reservation, which in part that is true, but they can also make the reservation as well and I highly recommend going through the property manager and at this location, Carmen has been Great. Was told I Could only move the day before the first of the month or I would be charged a full month if I wanted to change units that was a lie Carmen informed me I could change anytime I wanted. After you make the reservation and pay cancel the insurance you don’t have to wait till the first to do it cause they Charge you. And don’t believe customer service when they tell you that you don’t have to turn Auto pay back on because they have the card information and will charge it No problem that was a lie cause they charged it with a late fee On the sixth day using the excuse, my auto pay wasn’t on. I’m new to a lot of this so I should’ve done My due diligence and spoke to Carmen to confirm every decision in every conversation that was made Between myself and customer service and the insurance people or shall I say lady cause I spoke to the same woman twice. This property is very clean. I always saw Carmen out and about Doing whatever property managers do working She was always friendly . Thank you carmen for all your hard work and effort we appreciate YOU !

Went in to finish reservation in store and the associate Pam was very helpful and a delight to work with. She was funny and provided me answers to my questions and made my experience easy. Thank you

Pam is very helpful and a great worker, definitely very theral with info and great help source with keeping customers satisfied with having a unit here made things very easy and less stressful.. awesome great employee,think everyone Ive met as far as employees have been nice and helpful; but theres definitely a problem at the Public storage im at and its the dumpster and this is because its always locked and if theres no one avaliable to unlock it how is anyone able to put anything in it if theres no way to open it ? Doesn't make sense at all thats my issue there.

Carmen was great! I booked a unit that was to small online, and she took the time to make sure what I was storing would fit.

This place is disgracefully nasty and unapologetically rat infested. Their "insurance" is a scam to get another $20/month from you. The claim we tried to file after our unit was infested with rats was not worth it. You apparently have to provide receipts for every item, most of the things we had were small appliances, text books, pictures of our family and things that no person without some kid of OCD would have kept their receipts for (not to mention the gifts that don't come with receipts). The manager couldn't care less and was even surprised when I said our unit was rat infested. She did however ask if I wanted to continue renting, but switch units (without assuring the others don't have rats).

Carmen and Pam have wonderful attitudes great conversation. I had a easy process, great customer service!

Stay away from this place if you value your items. Went to retrieve my items and they were covered in rat urine and pellets. Items were no longer valuable and the insurance is a joke. You have to pay a $100.00 deductible and the claim for vermin damage is only $200.00. Find a newer facility that is climate controlled and discloses the potential of rodent damage.

This company is completely misleading in their advertising. They claim to have climate-controlled units, but when I arrived the unit was clearly not climate controlled. On top of that, there were rat pellets inside the unit — completely unacceptable and unsanitary. When I chose not to move forward, they still kept the “administration fee” even though I never used the unit. I spoke with Judy about the situation, and she showed zero compassion or willingness to help. Between the false advertising, unsanitary conditions, and terrible customer service, this place is a nightmare. I highly recommend avoiding this location — and the company as a whole.

Great customer service. However, when I explained the situation regarding why I needed the unit, I expected that there would be security authentication for entry and exiting when my access code is used.

Awesome customer service!

I had my storage unit at this location for 3 weeks and found rodent droppings , urine on my boxes and my furniture was torn with either claws or chewing by whatever runs around & gets into those units at night. I got my things out of there before the next month. Never again will I choose an outside unit .

Rats destroyed our unit as well as water damage. Do yourself the favor and avoid this place. Spend the extra money for a unit inside somewhere or you'll spend it replacing your belongings anyway.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Heartbroken and Disappointed – Entire Home Sold Despite Full Payment I am beyond devastated by my experience at Public Storage – 271 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073. On February 3, 2025, I called to discuss my storage unit's late payment after receiving a notice that my unit would be auctioned off after February 21, 2025. I made it crystal clear to the manager that I would be paid on the 21st and planned to settle the entire balance, including the lien fee and lien sale fee, on that date to avoid the auction. The manager assured me that as long as the payment was made on or before the 21st, my unit would be safe. I followed through exactly as promised and paid the full amount on February 21st. However, on February 24th, I was shocked and heartbroken to receive an email stating that my unit had been sold. I am a single mother with two small children, and my entire home was in that storage unit — including brand-new furniture and bedding for my girls. Most heartbreaking of all, the unit held irreplaceable personal items like their birth pictures and other sentimental belongings that can’t be bought. When I called, the staff had no answers and escalated the issue to the district manager. Despite my extensive conversation on February 3rd, where I was promised my unit would be safe if paid on or by the 21st, they still went ahead and sold everything. I am now desperately trying to find the person who purchased my unit, hoping and praying I can retrieve the sentimental items that mean the world to me and my daughters. This experience has been nothing short of traumatic and completely unacceptable. I'm praying someone calls me back immediately. Their negligence and lack of accountability have cost me my family’s home and cherished memories.

This Public Storage is a perfect place if you need space in the Orange Park area. Super easy to get to, quick no nonsense service and prompt service and answers to questions and such. Kassandra in particular was a huge help with anything I needed, whether it was replacing the lock on the unit or helping me with pricing and budget options. Couldn't be happier with this place.

My first time using a storage unit so of course I was overwhelmed already that morning with moving,and I couldn't find my unit but I saw Alex in the office and he personally walked me to the unit and helped me , Thank God he was there,and the price of my unit was affordable.

Awesome Service today with Alex. He went above and beyond in helping me find my unit. And he managed to save me some money as well.

I arrived today (6/10/22) to move what was in storage into my new home but had plans on moving a few things back into the storage until the end of the month since I paid (few items to be picked up by someone from different location. Had to clear it out first) but unbeknownst to me Alex closed my contract out. I returned, put code in and it was unrecognizable and I Thought this was weird because I didn’t speak with no one up until this point. I went to the counter and was told by Alex, “ oh yes I saw it cleared out earlier so I just went on head and closed it”. I made the trip all the way back to what I thought was my storage unit to find this out. It’ll be nice next time to check with the customer to see if they have any other plans for their space or if they’re actually done. Other than the rusty ceiling that left debris everywhere, it was convenient for the price. Overall, awkward way to close out a contract.

Alex was always extremely helpful with any question or concern I had during my rental. He always greeted me with a very friendly manner and was understanding when I had to delay a payment or get a new lock. I would definitely use Publix storage again!
