Patrick, the on-site manager took very good care of me when there was a mixup with a transfer of units. He made sure to step in and take care of everything accordingly. Great customer service and a human being. Highly recommend this location.
Easy access. I like the App to access the elevator and cart storage. The space was clean when I arrived and the instructions for check-in were clear.
Tina was great! Very helpful and made sure that I made the right choice in my options.
Update 10/2025
The ladies have left and this location is back to being horrible. The bathroom has not been accessible for 2-3 weeks now, the dumpster is overflowing and there is NEVER a manager on site. Getting a person on the phone to help is next to impossible too. For the money that is spent for our units, the least they could do is have a working bathroom.

I left my original review 8 months ago. Here to report, things continue to get WORSE!! No dollies, no access to trash, more broken doors and even no electricity a few times. If no electricity, no access into the building. And it is never when there’s a power outage in the area. Oh and did I mention there’s now a deadbolt on the restroom?? Forgot even washing your hands after being at this disgusting place, even if you could get into the restroom, there is NO water in the sink, no soap, no paper towel or toilet paper.
There is never anyone on the premises, no dumpster or trash available. Unless they accidentally forget to put the lock on, then trash is everywhere and it looks like dump. The doors of the units break all the time. The bathroom is always out of order. I constantly speak with others I see here and hear of units being broken into. There are cameras outside only so nothing can be done. The place is horribly maintained. Forget trying to get help with any issues, you can only speak to the kiosk with a computer.

I have tried calling and speaking to someone and receive no help.
Bathroom is still “out of order” after being told a work order was put in. There was even an employee in the office who refused to answer the door. I was still there when she left, she claimed it was her first day but she has been seen many times over the past year.
I needed a place close to where I was moving to so the location is convenient. I hate that I've been wasting money on a tiny 10x5 unit for almost 2 years now, and I've only been by there probably less than 10 times. 🤦♀️
My rent increased this month without any warning..and when I used the app to inquire about it, it just took me in circles.
Regardless of how hard it is to get to coming from Mopac, I definitely recommend this Public Storage location if you need a place to store parts of your life that you'll forget about in the Oak Hill area.
They advertised a great rate and after 2 months increased it over 50% total ripe off.

This location has been let to run down. The lights in the hallway outside my unit have needed to be replaced for a year. There is always trash in the driveway and around. The so-called 'climate controlled storage' is less than desirable. Some of my items rusted and had mildew on them. I had to throw away 2 expensive wool oriental rugs that had been eaten by insects. Prices are high and constantly going up. It used to be much better when staff was available, but covid changed that. Now, it is a game of wills trying to talk to someone. People forget to put the carts back, making it difficult to move your belongings in or out. Customer service and any personal attention is a thing of the past.
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. My items ended up covered in mold and it’s been broken into multiple times. The worst part is that after the most recent break in, they raised my rent by $100! They don’t even have carts available anymore. Extremely unhappy and disappointed. You would think that paying over $600 a month would provide some level of security to make sure no one breaks in and steals your stuff…apparently not.
This is perhaps the best storage facility I've ever had the pleasure of doing buisness with. And it was all do to the wonderful and beautiful PM Kassie. She answered all my questions was very knowledgeable, informative , and very polite. Thank you Kassie for a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Public Storage out on 290.

Public storage kept emailing me to leave a review, so here’s my review in one word - ROACHES 🪳🪳🪳.
I was in the process of moving in on a Friday afternoon, when the movers and I noticed live roaches in the hallways. There was no onsite office with actual people to physically monitor the problem, only a self-service kiosk that connected you to a help agent remotely. The lady I spoke with was empathetic and told me they would get pest control out by the next day to re-treat that area. I received a follow-up call from Shana, the property manager at another public storage location, who said she would ask her boss to transfer me over to another building.
Late Saturday afternoon (around 4pm) I went back to the unit and still found live roaches in the hallway. I’m not sure if the additional pest treatment actually happened, or if the infestation was just too massive for it to work. By that point I did not want to wait around for a property manager’s boss to respond to an email during Monday working hours - I needed to get out of there ASAP. I moved out that Sunday, just 2 days after moving in.
Obviously I’m extremely disappointed in my experience at Public Storage. I did ask for a refund and compensation for having to use movers twice, so I will update this review with how that goes. Thanks for reading!
P.S. My experience with the app was also terrible - Public storage has QR codes at the entrances telling you to download the app so you don’t have to use your access code every time to get in. I would stand in front of the elevator, or right at the very entrance I was trying to unlock, and the app would insist that I was “out of range.” I just used the access code every time.
I rented here for about 15 months. The facility is nice and I felt safe leaving my items there for an extended period of time.
The front office does not have someone working there at all times, but they have a video chat computer that allows you to connect with someone immediately.
The in-person staff I did come across were extremely nice, especially Troy, who was able to help me out with a problem of my own creation.
I would absolutely rent here again.
There is a cockroach infestation in this building. I would not recommend renting here because the cockroaches will infest all of your stuff

I would recommend not using this location. There is no office so you cant get any assistance. The phone number just redirects you to different location, they don't answer or return your phone call.
I scheduled my move out for the end of April through the app and cleared our my unit and returned keys before that date. Two months later I am still being. Their online chat is a robot that cant assist you with anything. There is no way to get any help and they just keep trying to charge me. I just want to speak to a human employee

District manager called me after seeing this review. She was very helpful and refunded my money. I would use this service again but i would recommend picking a location where there is a physical office and employees who can assist you.
We discovered today that one of the two units that we rent at this location was broken into between Wednesday evening, May 8 and today, Saturday, May 11. Many items were stolen.
A two-tiered Craftsman tool chest filled with tools collected over the years, as well as my set of sterling silver flatware that I have collected over many years and which was given to me by my mother and grandmother. There are many boxes of precious items missing as well. The lock on our unit had been tampered with and everything in the unit was gone through.
We have insurance through PS, but it only covers up to $5000 with a $500 deductible and the items stolen will total more than double this amount!
We are angry and feel that Public Storage bears responsibility. Curiously, the two units that we have rented are on different floors at this facility, and earlier this week, the entry codes were “switched”, denying access to us. Hmmm.

He gave us the best choice possible and explained the pros and the cons about 24 hr access. We got the last spot available...smaller than I was hoping for but I know he will help me get on a waiting list for the larger 24hr units. I love that they have auto draft without hidden charges or surprises. I also want to thank the owner for keeping it clean and secure with lots of lights and cameras. The storege room is old. Very dirty nastey smell. the fat G in the office who is the manager is as usefull as the worn out chair he was planted on. My partner stores in here and his rate dubbled. We ant get no phone call or nothin about it.

I visited this location twice, once to evaluate and once to shop their extensive collection of supplies. While we ultimately rented elsewhere, it’s obvious this is a class operation in terms of policy, facility, and security. Special appreciation to Jesse who was friendly, informative, and went far out of his way to help me when I was trying to fit too many supplies into the car space available. He made it work!

My mother died in January, and left me with a lot to clean up. The storage unit has been one of the most difficult problems for me. If not for the stalwart service of jesse at public storage, I would’ve lost my mind. Jesse is total upper management material, I really hope public storage knows what they have in him.
