Liz made my move in easy and I appreciate her patience.
I’m going to have to join the crowd here I rent here currently am going to be moving out at the end of the month horrible service here place is a dump because they won’t even provide a basic small trash can for the residents was fined 75 dollars for dumping one small item over the fence staff is rude and can never be reached in the office my rate went up before the end of my promotion price and not to mention I am paying for a unit way smaller then what I should be getting there 5x5 is not a true 5x5 you can not fit much in there I would not rent with these guys save your time and money and go somewhere else.
I had chosen this unit when a smaller company owned it. AS SOON as Public Storage acquired this place, it started going downhill fast. They refused to work with me, and the next business day after I scheduled a move-out, they removed my lock, declared my items abandoned, and charged me a $1000 fee. On my husband's birthday, they refused to pick up their phone. Do not rent here. They are trash and extremely fee-happy. I scheduled move-out for August 31, 2026, and they decided my items were abandoned on August 26, 2026.
Edit: While a security guard followed my Husband and roommate to make sure they didn't mess up the storage unit or something? Just be warned and find better accommodations for storage

My rent went up in 2/2026 to $171 for a small space no biger than a closet. Needless to say I was upset about that. Then today Kathy just called and reduced my rent by $17.00, not much, but it is still better than it was, especially with all these high prices. My review rate is low, because of the early close hours and not enough security for the neighborhood.
Great customer service! Kathy was incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly throughout the entire experience. She went above and beyond to help and make sure everything was taken care of. It’s refreshing to work with someone who genuinely cares about helping customers. Shout out to Kathy for her outstanding service I truly appreciate all her help!
Me and keys 🔑 are obviously NOT friends!! I left a review about how I had forgotten my keys in the past and had to have my lock cut off.....well
, UNFORTUNATELY, it happened again. This was totally my fault. A young man by the name of Leo was able to share the new procedures with me. He took my info gave me a call, and let me know that the maintenance crew had placed my new lock on my storage.
Although this didn't happen within the same day, Leo MADE SURE that I was informed that the job had been completed. He also talked with me and kept me calm the day I came out there. He is doing a GREAT service to this location and he keeps those premises secured from MISCHIEF.

Perfect unit when it comes to storing all your household goods.
Not sure how to word this review as I feel my friend who has a unit here is being bullied because I was "rude" to the new property manager at this location. He will make sure that you know that he is that several times especially when responding to any questions. Nothing wrong with that but inside the building it says no food, drinks, and pets. So one day I let my emotional support animal up cause we were waiting for a while a threw the ball near the bushes so it could go potty. He came out right away and said they saw the dog on the camera and she has to stay in the car. I turned around called her over n she peed in the bush then came n jumped in the car. No problem. Next he asked what is her name and I responded with she is in the car and there is no need for him to know that. He pressed me to give him her name and I said she is in the car I don't understand why you need to know that. He said I don't have to be rude and I said it's my constitutional right to speech which includes not talking cause our business was concluded cause the dog is in the car. He said I was being a ass and that he could call the police. Which is the 1st thing that people want to do when a Black person is involved 😢 and I did was comply with his request. Either way I eventually had to call the customer service line as he is threatening her losing her storage if I come around. So the district manager called me back and said he would address the issue and I could help my friend move things when she needs. He has been harassing her anytime he sees me n changed her code to enter today cause he seen me leaving after I dropped her off. So she was not in the car with me n he changed her code while she was taking her things upstairs. I was leaving to get a cheap stove for someone who couldn't afford one. When my friend calls me saying that she doesn't know what to do cause he changed her code cause he saw me leaving n she was not with me. Do I need to call BBB or does something like still exist?
I'm posting again about my disappointment in public storage. I had my storage for 4 months while I had to leave the state due to DV. When I came back to get my items, there were things missing, and there was rat feces all over the floor. Although I turned in my keys, they charged me for an additional month and today I got a text message from a collection agency. Unbelievable.

I've had a wonderful experience with this particular Public Storage. New management, Leonardo, has been nothing short of amazing since my move-in day and customer service has always been top notch! Every need/concern that I've had has been promptly addressed. I understand that it takes time for change to happen when turnover is in the mix, but Leo has been proactive in communicating that needs have been addressed and I've seen it first hand (i.e. there was only one cart, now there are three), I always enjoy great conversation about life, and everyone that I've met who rents space here are helpful and kind. I highly recommend this Public Storage location for your storage needs.
YOUR STUFF IS NOT SAFE HERE...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My unit was broken into and the staff, managers, district managers will not help in anyway. It feels like some public storage employees broke into my unit and the company is doing their best to cover it up. When I discovered my unit was broken into I immediately contacted the customer service line and the management office. No one ever contacted me or notified me that my unit was broken into, but they put a blue lock on my door and replaced the lock. The staff claims there is no proof or evidence anyone actually breaking into my unit, but I have so much stuff missing that whoever stole my catering equipment needed a large truck. The staff and management team here are liars and should not be trusted.
My story. I started renting in December. I waited until now to review.i wanted a decent time to review.
I could not get the overhead door open so they rented me a different unit.
That unit still had pieces of furniture in it. They moved me again.
The third unit overhead door barely opens but It does work.
The first bill was incorrect due to the moves.
I could not get them to call me back so I went to the location and called them from thier kiosk. I got the billing correct and paid.
Since then they have billed me incorrectly just about every month. I go to the kiosk and they correct it.
For May they billed me and additional $86.i went to the kiosk. They said they provided me with a 30 notice and could raise my rates at any time with a 30 day notice. I am currently paying $188.
I would have preferred autopay but I will not with this business.
TI am not happy with this business strategy.

I had such a great experience at the Public Storage on G Street, and a huge part of that is thanks to the manager leonardo w.. He’s seriously awesome. From the moment I walked in, he was friendly, helpful, and made everything easy to understand. You can tell he actually cares about his customers and takes pride in what he does.
He went above and beyond to answer my questions, made sure I got exactly what I needed, and just had an all-around great attitude the whole time. It’s rare to come across customer service like that these days.
If you’re looking for storage and want a smooth, stress-free experience, I definitely recommend this location. Big shoutout to the manager for being so great!

Absolutely the worst place for self storage, it seems like every time I go there either the front gate won't open, or the elevator is not working. People have been having their units getting broken into and they don't notify the person who's renting the unit till a week or two later, garbage in the hallways that's there for days or weeks at a time, there's never anyone in the office, last month some people had their U-Haul inside the gate and then the gate stopped working, took them 3 days to send someone to fix the gate, and they have the absolute worst customer service, I've been told you need to set an appointment to speak to someone in the office, I've done it three times and no one shows up, they tell me I'll get a call back within 24 to 48 hours a week goes by and I don't get a phone call, these people will take your money and do nothing else

This is by far one of the worst storage facilities I’ve dealt with.
When I first rented here, there were multiple carts available and access was decent. Now, it’s a constant problem every time I show up. The carts are gone (apparently stolen), the gate access frequently doesn’t work, and the loading dock is often backed up with multiple trucks — I’ve had to wait extended periods just to get in.
To make things worse, alternative access points are unreliable. One entrance has been gated off completely, and another gate doesn’t function properly. It makes running a business out of this unit extremely difficult.
The safety is also a major concern. There are often people hanging around the property who appear to be under the influence, and it does not feel secure when accessing the unit.
I brought all of these issues to staff, and instead of solutions, I got pushback and no immediate help. Being told “we’ll let management know” doesn’t fix the problem when you can’t access your unit.
If you need reliable access and a safe environment, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Although I was frustrated that Public Storage took over a neighborhood storage, due to the very known practice of frequently raising rates. I spoke to the property manager Clarence, and gave me a new view of customer service. Clarence looked at me while expressing my concerns and was very understanding and made clear he is taking keeping the grounds and occupants happy.
He was great. Patient and courteous!

Made a reservation the evening before and received the email to come in and pay during office hours to complete getting the storage unit. I came in to find a small room with an automated kiosk with a camera. The remote person said that my reservation had already been given away to another person. When I asked if they had another space available they told me I needed to be transferred to another person and then hung up. I waited 5 mins but the kiosk had gone back to the intro.
I don't mind some automation but this was a terrible experience. Will never use this company again.
I have tried to access the building during hours stated on website. And the green gates have been shut since Sunday. I have contacted customer service and they have not been able to help me. I do not know what’s going on and I need to access my unit. I was told that this issue will be forwarded to the Field Manager and I am awaiting their response. Has anyone else had this issue in the past few days?

THE WORST STORAGE PLACE EVER!
Since they became Public Storage (used to be Urban Storage) and got new owners this place is complete shit.
They're incompetent. Their policy is opinionated, meaning it is different depending on who is working. They dont care about you or your possessions. They're rude as hell and wont work with you at all.
Any other place is better than this one. Customer service is more important than anything else to me and they lack empathy and kindness to be in such a job.
May look into a lawyer due to the way they chose to do things and how suspicious they are acting.
The lady on the phone even got scared when the idea of a lawyer was braught up which adds to the suspicion.

Got there around 8:15pm, couple min before they close at 9pm and when I got to the passkey exiting to let my car out at exactly 9pm.. the passkey-was locked and there’s no information of after hours locked in anywhere. There was me and another women in the storage unit but she didn’t have a car.. I had a 2 month old baby with me and was locked inside without any notice from any staff on property that they could’ve check the unit to see if there was guest inside still also , didn’t care to see a car parked within the gate to even realize there’s someone still here with the main garage open. Passkey said , Closed..Please see manager. Customer service was not existent after hours and 911 transfer me to another staff and hanged up on me. Lucky I got a fam that came thru to pick me up because the door gate could still be accessible. When we left (yes I left my car behind to pick it back up tomorrow at 6am) I double check the fence door from the entrance side to see if it was secured but it was NOT secured. The guest gate has no handle , only a key lock but you can still be able to pull the gate towards you to open the fence door which Needs Attention!
It’s a shame that I’ve been a loyal member and wasn’t given any information about after hours locked in and it’s sad to have the staff not checking the unit properly before ending their shift. There’s people valuables in this place and they could care less to take an extra step to care for their customers belongings. I fed my daughter in the parking lot waiting for almost an hour. Definitely wasn’t the greatest time I had this year. Location is great but just wish this will never happen to you guys.
P.S.-I’ll submit a new updated review next week or so to check if any of these problem has been fixed or issues resolved. (Grrrrr)
If you want a great place to store your belongings, this is the place. The staff is wonderful, and the service is top notch. Shout out to Beverly, who if it wasn’t for her, i would have left when public storage took over from Urban. Thanks for all the help Beverly, and all the information you provided!

There are several things that I would like to state about this particular public storage unit location.
1. While it may state that they open at 9:00 a.m., that does not mean that there will be an attendant on staff anymore. I'm here on a Monday at 10:30 a.m. and there is no site of any staff member. There are no notes stating what time staff members will show up. This is not good communication.
2. Bathrooms are not maintained as they used to be. There has been a multitude of occasions over the last 2 weeks where the restrooms were not stocked appropriately. There was no toilet paper, no soap in the dispenser, trash can overflowing, etc. not really a great look.
3. The changeover from Urban Storage to Public Storage has been an absolute nightmare or an inappropriately timed dumpster fire. Between the app, the people on site (who are not always on site), and calling customer service, it is easy to end up with three completely different stories with regards to what is owed on which units.
4. Accessibility to the units is almost non-existent. If you are a person with handicaps that keep you from going up stairs, you will be instructed to go around to the back alleyway and use that elevator to get into the building. And while that definitely fits the category of being accessible, you can find more accessible public storage units elsewhere.
In summation, I just wish to state that I would not recommend this location personally. Since it is part of the Public Storage franchise, you could easily find a more accessible option when it comes to storing your personal belongings. I will absolutely update this in the future, as they are currently restructuring to Public Storage from Urban Storage. However, that doesn't change the current state of affairs.
The gate is still not useable, bc someone in a uhaul hit the box where you enter your exit code almost a week ago, and it's still not fixed. So you have to enter from the back of the building and walk all the way through the building, oh but not until you have to take an elevator half a floor up, and then wait for the same elevator to be free bc others block the door from closing bc they are going back and forth from their vehicle to load the elevator instead of waiting until they have everything inside already. Than the website says the gate hours are 6am to 9pm, which is the only reason I went to this location. Just to find out that the hours are actually only 6am to 6pm. When I asked what the real hours were, I was scoffed at by the manager and said 6 to 6 it's bc there's a glitch.....they are working on it. As big of a company as public storage is, and they are still working on it, along with the gate. Smh. I've been a customer of public storage for many years, and this is by far the worst location ive ever had to use. So not happy right now. With any of it.
Kathy the property manager was very patient and sweet with communicating the situation regarding transitioning between urban storage and public storage.
Terrible place do not do business with them. Dishonest with rates and how the system would work with us resulting in a $560 inadvertent fee. They must be paid commission as why would representatives conveniently leave out pertinent info that would allow customers to make an informed decision. After hours on the phone with customer service trying to reconcile a solution- they were unwilling to budge nor be flexible with the situation. Where will business ethical lines be drawn if there is a lack of value for transparency and honesty?
We will not be doing business with this company in the future and would not recommend would warn anyone doing so going forward.

Next day: they had 2 carts available and I got it all done on lunch hour. Convenient this time. Hope first time just a fluke n sorry I was just so mad.
Horrible new ownership. New staff is Horrible. Changed hours and didn't notify tenants. Went there today and got chased down by employees telling me I have to be out in 10 minutes. Well it would be wonderful if you sent out a email saying new hours etc. Not just sending out a contract with wrong hours and no anything but sign and we switched. I will be leaving this place asap. Not a way to transition a place .
signed up in june then unexpectedly owners sold to public storage and now theyre making me resign lease agreement and are not accepting my insurance

I rented two storage units and was issued two full refunds. This location does not adhere to the website and changes the rules after signing the lease. For some reason there's cameras everywhere yet they closed down the customer bathroom due to "innappropriate things being left" in there back in May, and I started my lease in June. They dont mention this until after you pay and they walk you through to put your lock on the unit. My question is, how is there "Peace Of Mind" when you can't secure the restrooms to the point no customer can use the restroom, (not even the employee's bathroom) you get to walk by while you hold it. After you move in, you are only allowed upto 2 hour blocks to visit your "business storage" and do what you must because they say that they will tell you to leave. You could come back later for another two hours. Totally unacceptable! The woman Jonnie did attempt to tell me how Pierce County uses this storage location for some reason, I hope it's not for anyone's personal records. So the refunds where issued by check and I received the first one on June 18th. On July 2nd, I attempted to call the location to let them know I received one of the refunds and maybe the other may had been lost in the mail, somehow there phone number is no longer in service. I had to call the corporate office in Seattle and Frank explained that the paperwork was batched together and he was sending the other refund immediately. Frank at the corporate office is outstanding! He was my first contact about this whole mess and he handled it well. Beware of Urban Storage South G St!
They saved the day! I had all my items in a moving truck ready to store at another facility I had just rented but they failed to let us know the lot would be closed for repairs! I was so mad and unable to store at the place I literally just rented out the day before. I had to pivot and I called Urban Storage up the street and Jaime, saved the day! She got us signed up in our unit within an hour. She was absolutely fantastic and helpful. Huge kudos to her and her excellent service skills. She made our whole day better.

Manager consumes cannabis while on the clock working. Owners don’t step in and help when employees are harassed, but rather blame employees for being “too nice”! Heater inside warehouse has been broken for months so the climate control isn’t working but they’re still telling customers it’s a feature. Management laughs about the homeless community and treats them as less than, going so far as to institute new promotion rules specifically to prevent them from being eligible to rent. There’s a hidden third floor with a music studio inside so there’s often unknown individuals roaming the property at all hours, directly voiding the “security” they boast. Experience as a customer and employee both rate at a ZERO. Stay clear!
