Stephanie was absolutely the best! I wish all customer service people were like her. She was very patient, kind, and extremely helpful. I can’t say enough good things about her. This was the Virginia Beach location and I love that if you download the app, you can have gate access without typing in the code. How convenient! One more shout out for Stephanie!!
Rats are a problem, and no one answers the phone. They raised my rate from $74 to $94 now $126 in just over a year. To have my boxes and items covered in rat urine and feces and to then have them raise my rates and not be able to contact them for three days now is absurd and im moving out ASAP
Went to check on my unit at 5529 Virginia Beach Blvd back in early August and there is rodent droppings all over everything. I’ve spoken to customer service and the property manager multiple times. The property manager told me to file an insurance claim and that he’d be reaching out to the district manager. I’ve been waiting well over a month, made multiple calls, and already paid the rent once since this has been brought to their attention. Now the rent is due again and I still haven’t heard anything as far as a proposed resolution. This unit was $88/month less than 3 years ago and now they’re charging $243/month. I currently live 300 miles away but otherwise I would be there every single day demanding to speak with someone in person! This is a zero star rating, masked as 1 star to meet the minimum requirement.
I visited this location today and had the pleasure of meeting Essence. She was so helpful and patient with me! When I walked in, she was cleaning, but she stopped what she was doing to help me and answer all of my questions. And boy, did I have plenty!

I came into the office yesterday and had a situation with my lock not working and I had just moved in . The property manager Essence was able to help me get a new lock with no problem!

Loving my unit so far, easy access and hassle free. I’m really loving the App, the remote access for the gate is simply the best.
Seems very secure with how you get in and out however the gates are left open long enough any car behind you can just go in like I did following the person I was with. So how secure is it really. I didnt rent a unit but went with someone who did. When opening the unit you can see they've had water damage or some kind of water issue and have mold growing inside the unit. Had it been me renting it i would have gotten my money back and asked for a different unit or went somewhere else. Just poor conditions to put your stuff in and hope it doesnt get damaged.

Josie was extremely helpful and informative and although I was at the shore dr location looking for a 10x10 unit, she found me a 10x10 at the va beach blvd location in a climate controlled unit for almost $50 less. If I could've given her 10 or even 15 stars I would.

Miss Terry from the Virginia Beach Blvd. property was very helpful
I recently visited the public storage located 5529 Virginia Beach Blvd. and wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, my visit was not as smooth or welcoming as I had hoped. I was looking for a unit to store my vehicle, just moving down from Tampa, Florida to Virginia Beach, until my home is ready for move in, I was looking for a temporary home for my vehicle.
Prior to my arrival, the associate Keith called to confirm the hold on the storage unit, which I appreciate it. However, upon arriving, I was expected to escort myself to both units to access their size rather than being shown the units directly. Additionally, I noticed that the handle on one of the units, appear to be tampered with or broken, Which raised concerns.
Overall, the customer service experience was not very welcoming. I do feel that more attention to greeting and existing customers can make a significant difference, especially in an industry with many alternatives available. A more attentive and appreciative approach could make potential renters feel valued and confident in their choice to use this location.
I hope this feedback is helpful, as improving. The customer experience benefits, both the business and its patrons.

Rented online with assistance. Unit was avaliable and lock inside as indicated. Just had the opportunity to speak with Terry in the office. Listened well, adequate answers, and a pleasure to talk with. So far so good but I anticipate no future problems. I rented from the Military Highway location 6 years ago and there were no problems. Even if you have some....be patient: this too shall pass :)

I wish I could give 0 stars. Moving on. I had a 5×5 space for $30 a month. PS took it upon themselves to raise my rate to $80 with no notification. When I logged into the app it said payment was 80.00. I called facility and they said they would research. Well they denied the rate decrease. So I moved. Despite me moving they still want to charge the 80.00. They can go have they mama pay it because I refuse to pay for a space I'm not occupying for August. Please avoid renting PS at all cost. They str all about a dollar and not the customer. Horrible customer service and experience 😑 STAY AWAY!

I have been a customer for several months, and my experience has been far from satisfactory. I have been trying to get my storage unit unlocked for months now, but despite my numerous attempts to reach out, I have received no response from the management. This lack of communication is incredibly disappointing and has caused me significant inconvenience.
I expected a prompt resolution to my issue, but instead, I have been left in the dark. I hope that management will address this issue soon, as I would like to continue using their services, but I need reliable support to do so.

Good for short term, but if you're like me and it's been a long-term solution don't expect reasonable pricing. My now $200/mo unit (May was 157, June will be 200) has jumped considerably over the past 5 years with corporate saying that the rate increases are automatic and nothing can be done. $200 for a 5x10 non-temperature-controlled unit is more than the smallest indoor climate-controlled unit, so ask about their long-term pricing policies if you're not sure how long you'll be there.
The storage facility is fine but they have increased my rent twice resulting in an overall 30% increase in a year. I'm looking for something else

I would heartily recommend Public Storage. There are many places you can choose to store your stuff, but only one place has Keith. Keith is the the Property Manager and today he was very helpful when I went there to discuss the storage units. He was friendly, courteous, and explained the process wonderfully. Later, after I left, I had another question and called. I was actually able to speak with Michelle, the District Manager. She was great to work with, very polite, courteous, and was able to help me get my paperwork straightened out. They even were able to set up automatic payments in just a flash. The storage facilities are well-maintained, secured, convenient. I expect you will have the same wonderful experience.

Ms Mesha was amazing. I had some concerns about my unit and she handled things quickly and professionally. Very polite.
My best friend had one an online auction for one of their units, and I being her proxy was there to claim the unit for her.
As it turned out she had won the unit for me because I was in need of a washer and dryer.
I am very thankful for all that she has done for me.
Upon entering the facility the staff promptly got to the paperwork that was required to finish the sale of this auction unit. Once that was completed, she stated that she would meet me around at the unit whereupon she would remove the lock.
There is evidence of rodents at this facility.
So please follow instructions that the storage managers give when they say do not store anything edible in the units. It draws rodents and other unsaviories.
The washer and dryer were her reason for winning this unit. Although my home is set for a natural gas dryer, the electric one and the washer work wonderfully.
Other than some surface rust on the washer, both were exceptionally clean underneath and inside.
There was a mattress and rat droppings could be seen on top of it and everything else that was in there.
It should be noted that these people did not have any food stored in their unit, but since others in other units don't listen, rodents abound in all units.
Mesha is so HELPFUL! I broke my key off in my lock and didn’t have money for another, luckily she was actually able to get the key out and fix the lock I had. She took the time to actually help me fix it instead of pushing for me to buy a new one. She was very kind and helpful!

Like everything else, they keep raising rental rates. They have offers, but only if your a new customer. I've tried calling to ask about lowering the rates, but no rep has ever called me back.

They have a really bad rat infestation please don’t rent a space here. They also state that they are not liable for damages but charge you 20$ for insurance and a 15$ late fee.
