Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 3309 Alma Drive, Plano, TX

The place is old and run down. In less than 6 months they increased my rate by $20 and then increased it again by $18 for a total of $118, which is ridiculous. Plus they don't pro-rate. Oh and they're cute by sending you a notice of rate increase via snail mail. So it takes a while for it to arrive. Basically less than 30 day notice. Elevator is Shakey mistakey and don't exactly close and needs assistance. Smells of piss. Dim and narrow. Calling corporate for an issue I had 2 months in was impossible and wanted to charge me a fee of $20 for something I didn't do. Took 2 weeks for them to resolve it. The person running is nice, she's the only reason it earns another star.

Sally went above and beyond to help me out getting my 2 storages the same day!! I had a hard time because it was my first time but she was really nice to help me out walking me thru everything step by step!! Thank you so much guys!! We need a Sally at every Public storage very professional great customer service!!!

The worst customer service I have ever seen was from the management here. Lisa had my car towed today and the sign clearly says for patron parking only. I guess that they don’t consider the 219 bucks I pay monthly at this location as a patron. I was basically told that it wasn’t their problem and that I had to take it up with the towing company. But yet they had to call it in to get it towed? God forbid they actually admit to doing something wrong.

Lisa was extremely helpful and thorough once I was able to finally get in touch with the office. It’s been a few months and there has been a rate increase on the rent. When I first chose this facility, she mentioned that all I had to do was call and she could try to get the rent discounted when that happens. I tried to contact the store and literally NO ONE ever answers! I don’t have free time to stop in so that’s inconvenient. If you do get ahold of someone, it’s a person in a call center or something… not the local store so they still can’t help. Hopefully I can move my stuff out of here ASAP. Not to mention, compared to the other facilities around, this location is very old and dingy… it’s not taken care of. Stuffing falling out of HUGE holes in the ceiling. Old elevator that actually stopped functioning when the movers were moving my stuff in… etc. but I was in a hurry to pick a place and it was cheaper than the uhaul next door but I should’ve looked at other options.

Raised prices again. This time they doubled!! Not worth it. Also there are never any dollys to move stuff in and out....disappeared one day a year and a half ago and were never replaced.

Lisa is an outstanding manager! I rented spaces at another location that only had a kiosk but she was listed as the person to contact. Lisa always returned my calls and made sure I was taken care of.

I have had my storage unit for six months. I came in about a month ago and the elevator was down and they had no cart to assist. I have a bad knee and carrying heavy objects is not an option. I called the front office and she said she couldn’t do anything about but to reach out to corporate, that I may have better luck than her resolving the issue. Well it’s been more than a month since then and there is still no cart available. This is a pretty big place and to not have a single cart available is beyond ridiculous.

This is the same public Storage that let people steel all my suff including my family pictures and my fathers funeral obituaries all the stuff that he had. I have nothing of his now Or family pictures. Everything in my family storage was valuable so mad that happen.

Caution: Re-send your annual proof of homeowners insurance renewal or THEY WILL charge extra insurance without asking questions! Good rates—for the first year till rates went up AND I neglected to send in proof of insurance renewal—, helpful staff, easy access—except awkward/non—existent parking. Occasional trouble with one door or another being either hard to open or broken—but there were multiple nearby doors, so we’d just use the next one, come push open the hard to open door, and have someone or something hold it while moving stuff in or out.

Decided to rent a storage unit last minute and my experience couldn't have been better. Linda advised me on all my options and did it all with a smile. I have a long weekend a head of me and I'm delighted it started with someone who genuinely wanted to help. Wish I could give them ten stars.

Based on my personal experience, it is a decent storage facility. The problems I encountered were elevators being out of order and staff unable to insure when it would be. Unfortunately, you may have to wait days before moving anything in or out. In addition, I noticed the security pad on storage entrance door had been removed and not replaced for weeks. Their is usually a dolly in entrance to use, but on many occurrences, one was not available. Hindsight...being on second floor was a not a good decision.

Katie helped me get some of my fees waived I am so thankful as we all know the time we are in right now all the help counts she is always so helpful and patient with me and I think Katie is the best employee y'all have at public storage

Katie helped us out today. first time in texas and she gave us a were welcome. looking forward to our move to texas. facility is clean and looks secure and safe. I'm leaving my 7x16 enclosed trailer in a covered parking spot. tight squeeze backing up the trailer. make sure you get that reverse skill leveled up. would recommend and definitely come back.

Terrible service, I made a reservation, and 3 days before my moving I realized my reservation was cancelled, and I didn’t cancel, I called customer service and they said because they called to me and the phone was a wrong number, that is totally a lie cause, I received a confirmation email with my phone number in it, they didn’t sent me any mail to tell me about that cancelation, any call, so they just said apologies for the inconvenient and they try to rent me another space with a highers price 😡 😡

Prices r good, the keypad to enter n exit are in stupid spots so rain or scorching heat you gotta get outta your car to enter your code

I have been storing my stuff here for two and a half years and the experience so far has been good. Lots of locks between my stuff and the outside world. Storage areas are clean and dry with temperature control. Today, I decided I needed to transfer to a bigger space and was stressed out about the cost and what moving my things would require. Kim was super helpful and friendly and made the transfer experience not only way easier than I ever could have imagined but she went through a lot of effort to make sure I got a really good price that couldn't be beat by anywhere else. She took the time to explain all the fine print to me which saved me a lot of time and money. Everything was taken care of right away with no hassle. I had my new space and all my stuff moved within an hour or so. Thank you Kim, you really made my day.

One of the two carts has apparently been missing a handle for a while now and management does not feel the need to replace it. Also the one buildings elevator button does not work on the bottom floor.

i have three reason don't like here. 1, When you first time move in, the manager sit in front of you asking you to write a review before she signed you a space, that pressure made you had to give a good review. 2, They increase your rate after about half year for sure, and increase over 30%. 3, I asked to move out at May 4th of the month, they just charged me $160 for the whole month and told me no refund for the rest of the month, It's like i paid 30 days for only 4 days use. I don't think it's technique problem because they were able to prorated rent when you moved in, now they told you they can't when you move out? All in all, do not be fooled by those 5 stars, because most are forced to give those high rate when the manager sits in front of them.

I came in to pay a bill and Kenesha was very professional and amazing! She answered all the questions I had and was very detailed on how the bill cycle works. She is a great employee! Great representative for the company.

I had moved back to Dallas after finishing my Bachelor's Degree and needed a place to store my things while I looked for a job. Found these guys for a decent price and good location. Every now and then I'd check the unit to pick some stuff up or store something else. However, one day I check the storage and I notice some things missing. Told the management about it and they countered with maybe my co-signer took the items. I told him that was impossible because I had both keys at all times. NO cameras to see who did it or anything like that.

Shannon T, site manager for this location, is awesome. She was friendly and knowledgeable and in 100+ degree heat, made sure my fiance and I were comfortable with our unit's location and with the facility as whole. We appreciate her professionalism and kindness!

Management is unbelievable!! I received a call from them threatening to put our items on auction. I have always paid on time. For the month of May 2018, I paid them on June, 2nd. They claim I was late, and had also been late back in Mar. However, I had been told late fees would incur after the 4th of each month. They claimed they had been trying to get hold of me for months!!! I never received any messages from them not on my phone and not by mail. Now in July, I went to pay, and was told rent had gone up from $120.00 to $140.00. Again, no pre notification of change in rates. So now they have changed our locks to the unit and threatened to aution our belongings. May I mention, staff at the office are great, always kind and helpful. Management is rude, unkind and unprofessional to say the least!!

They rip you off with a bunch of extra fees that they don't advertise. Also they charge you $20 for a lock when you sign up.

Experience with public storage was a rip-off. Rented a storage unit from this place wanted to transfer to smaller unit. Already paid $185.00. Public storage wanted to charge me $26.00 dollars more for a storage unit that wad suppose to be $86.00 dollars.

The Kenisha, the agent on duty was absolutely AWESOME! It was very close to closing time, and she showed nothing but Grace, professionalism, and kindness. I didn't feel rushed or put off by her. It is because of her, that I would utilize Public Storage again, and refer others.

No idea why anyone would give this place 5* after a tour. I'd expect to pay half as much for what we saw around and inside the facility. It's falling apart, is filthy, elevators have certificates showing last inspection date in 2016, and our unit had rat poison in it. The guys in the office were nice, but I wouldn't call them professional; lazy is a better fit. If it's close to you, you are not worried about your belongings, and you can get a good deal... This place is probably fine. I simply don't trust it and got what little we had to leave in there out as soon as possible. I have no experience with the outdoor unit; only the indoor. We swapped to CubeSmart for a closer, new, clean facility with better lighting, security, and we're paying the same price there for a first floor unit near the entrance instead of paying the amount we paid Public Storage for a second floor unit all the way in the back. The staff at our new place are also polite and look like they actually are employed.

The service was great. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. Awesome customer service and always a positive atmosphere and willing to help. Will definitely use and visit this location again.
