Orangeburg is a small city in central South Carolina, nicknamed "The Garden City" and boasting a scenic setting to match. It's located about 37 miles southeast of the larger city of Columbia. Orangeburg was founded by a trader in the early 18th century and named for England's Prince of Orange. The town was incorporated in 1883 and now is a rural but modernized community.

Orangeburg is also known for its lush flower gardens at Edisto Memorial Gardens. The gardens are home to about 4,000 different types of plants, including 50 beds of roses. Edisto Memorial Gardens was created in the 1920s and has grown several award-winning roses over the years.
