Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 5016 W Reno Ave, Oklahoma City, OK

I was leasing a storage outside for my motorhome. They have plenty security cameras and yet nothing no one has called me my Cadillac converter over $2000. They stole off of my motorhome. This is awful business. Public Storage should’ve called the customers and told us what happened before we knew about it? I did like this place, but they fell bad to call customers when customers people was broken into the storages very awful👎👎👎👎

One of my storages got broken into and the insurance was pointless because I didn’t have receipts of my things in storage so that was a lost and I feel you shouldn’t be forced into having to pay insurance when it’s not even gonna help when things go bad

After you've had an appropriate amount of time to fill your unit; I think it was about a year, they will increase your rates by a third. Yes, my monthly payment went from $78 to $103; just due to corporate greed. Luckily I barely used my unit, so it's just a couple car loads. A 33% increase due to corporate greed is enough to move my stuff. But it's not that easy for most. Before you open a unit here, think about the cost of moving it all when your rates go up 33%. 7/20/2026: Just wanted to update. The management is great. Place is usually clean and swept. But I'm still having issues with rate hikes. I'm at like 130 for a small unit. They just keep increasing my rate.

As sometimes do my newly purchased motorcycle with less than 600 miles went dead, lights out, but public storage was there for me to store my bike to be serviced and secure store care for till shipping date. Have excellent security and service as one night I entered at ,9:pm to do some winterizing till the shipping maintenance but was locked in as it's not a 24 hr and had to at five thirty am climb out over the fence , later called why I blah blah blah ...yeah my bike is secure enough here to know at least who comes to get it best be top notch . Then comes the notice by text ten days into your newly rented unit that your storage bill is outstanding that it's January 2 and all rental fees are due by the 1st that you better pay or get charged late fees or worse oh my god lose whatever items like that $3000 or more motorcycle or coin collection you stored there. Cause public storage where you rent by the month doesn't care you just rented that unit 12 days ago rents due on the 1st now pay up.

The facility is decent. The app for the gate never worked tho. The reason i am only giving this place 2 stars is because in the 12 months that i rented a unit my rent was raised 3 times. The last month i used my rent was more than double what it was when i first got a unit. Thats rediculous for it to be raised that much in a year. They say that they are able to help change the rent back down after it is raised but not once did it ever go back down. After i moved out at the end of last month they are saying i owe for another month because they say i just got my stuff out yesterday. If that was true they would have turned off my access to the gate and put a lock on my unit to keep me from getting my stuff. But i got my stuff out at the end of last month. I owe them nothing. Beware of this place and their lure you in prices just to immidiatly raise them 2 months after you put your stuff there. They are offering the same size unit that i had for under 30 dollars a month. But they were charging me 80. It was 36 when first started renting there. Rent should never more than double in that short of time.

Just visited store on Reno to pay a payment and let Julie know what happened on Monday when the account showed we didn't have a payment until July 1st and hours later it showed we we late for June. Julie looked at the issue and explained what happened on it.. She was helpful the whole visit and smiled the whole time

Super friendly and helpful. We needed to switch to a larger until and not only did the administrator get us set up with the unit size we needed, but she helped up with the lock when we had trouble with it.

I didn't have to ask for a refund of my auto pay that paid my unit for Jan. 2026. Since it paid it ahead 1 month management saw this and immediately requested a refund before I noticed and called. They are great to work with.

Rate continues to increase. Been with them for 8 years and instead of rewarding long term clients, they continue to increase rates way too often. I now pay over $100 more per month than the original price. I can understand slight increaes but this is taking advantage. Will be moving to a different company, one that increases only based on what the average industry rates are, and its minimal.

Warning: Stay far away from Public Storage on Reno Ave! At first, the move-in process was quick and easy, and I thought this would be a decent place to store my belongings. Unfortunately, that changed rapidly. After settling in, communication became nearly impossible — the property manager stopped answering calls entirely. For about three weeks, I called repeatedly and left voicemails with no response. The only time I finally heard back was after I stopped making automatic payments — suddenly, they were quick to call when it came to asking for money. When I tried to speak to a supervisor, the property manager ignored to put me in touch with a supervisor or anyone higher up and kept demanding payment. I was charged late fee’s even though, I stopped making payment so I could get ahold of them. I went in person multiple times and no one was there. The lack of accountability is alarming. To make matters worse, their “Orange Door” insurance appears to be a complete scam. Most of my stored items were destroyed due to water leaking into the unit, and despite filing a claim for water damage, the insurance company reclassified it as “mold” — conveniently limiting coverage to just $250. After researching other locations, I discovered this isn’t an isolated problem. It resembles part of a systemic pattern across Public Storage facilities nationwide. They lure you in with a quick deal, then raise your rent after just a couple to few months while providing poor service and even worse customer support. I’ve leased storage units for years and have never experienced anything close to this level of neglect and dishonesty. There are plenty of other nearby facilities that are cheaper, cleaner, and far more professional. Take my advice — move your belongings elsewhere before it’s too late. You’ll thank me later.

Good at first but the prices after a year will not be worth it. Since first getting my unit my rent has doubled after a year. Due to demand for the units. Could not even down size for a lower price. Also don't bother calling the local location they never answer the phone.

Well I've had a storage here for over a year now and last time I came in my phone ended up dating. I couldn't remember my password. The lady at the counter didn't ask me for my ID. Just space number so I put My own red lockout lock on it and when I came back today to put some stuff in storage y'all put a sticker stating it belonged to y'all on there. I took the sticker off because the lock is scratched with M Taylor on it. Don't put stickers on stuff that don't belong to you and something you don't have a key to. It's not your red lockout lock. I put it on there because of my protection for my property. Start telling your property managers to ask for ID

Bc they've knocked it out of the park again. I've had some health issues pop up unexpectedly. Two surgeries. And, unable to work for a couple of months. That's stressful when you live paycheck to paycheck. Got behind on my storage. Julie Thomas(new mng), is a complete jewel. Every time I have spoke w her. I've gotten the most valuable information. She understands. Listens. She is compassionate. And, very knowledgeable of her job. I got more helpful tips out of her than I ever have anyone. You have to have a passion for what you do & people to result in the type of customer service she delivers. You would think it would be cut & dry. If you're familiar w storage rental. And I have been since 2014. But, I learned several things from her that were extremely helpful. She doesn't hear people. She feels them. She is why I'm staying w Public Storage from this point forward. Review#1: Dealt with storage units for 10 years now. Three different storage companies. Jessica. The manager is amazing. She demonstrates the best customer service I've ever received anywhere. She makes the whole place. Highly suggest it.

The person who normally I deal has a. very nice and warm personality. On my last visit, the guy was not informative when I asked questions about policies. I am unsure who the person in charge is, but I find her rather rude and dishonest. She needs a class on how to communicate amicably with customers because I am sure that I am not the only person she has annoyed.

Alert dont rent here..ive been at this storage for about 5 years and rates keep increasing,just recently was told rates would increase by another $41 a month,it would cost me more a month then a new customer,jessica is the manager and she has horrible customer service,last month in march i was desperate to downsize to save on monthly fees,i had asked numerous times over a period of time .i could never get a total cost so i did call and leave a message for jessica to return my call for a final price and she did not return my call after 3 days so i showed up on storage property and confronted her for not returning my call with final price,she said weve been over this several times,i wanted to move immediately to a smaller unit and my schedule for everything i was going thru would of only allowed a few days and now it was to late for me to move to smaller unit or vacate facility because of my time schedule,jessica was rude and disrespectful to me and she said i dont have to call you back and if you want price you have to be on property,i cant drive there when im busy and thats a lie thats why they have phones and the web site and property,thats 3 ways to do business so i ended up having to rent for another month in the larger unit i wanted out of.i called corporate to complain and i said i wanted to talk to a district manager and no one called me back except jessica called and was mad and said you went over my head and was loud and hateful even interupting me numerous times .and i said yes i did because you wont call me back,she has been hateful every since.this facility has poor security cameras,never had electric in my units always had to use flashlights,no 24hr access unless you hide in your unit at night,lots of thieft,gate was non working for over a month and broke down frequently,people living in units,homeless people hanging around facility,manager that picks and chooses to call customers back,has a bad attitude.sits in her car alot during work hours,several months back she was suppose to vacate an outside storage i had and she didnt do the vacate and i almost had to pay another month until i complained and it was finally resolved,jessica needs to be retrained on customer service and her job responsibilities.most reviews i read are good but i wonder how many times they had to deal with jessica.also back about 6 months ago i was having health issues and i couldnt drive to facility to make cash payment so i left numerous phone messages on how i could pay and it took about 3 days for a return call and I almost had a late fee,i have now vacated public storage completely and i will never use this overpriced under skilled company ever again,ive had alot of issues at this facility,i believe public storage corporate and facility manager jessica should be investegated and that i should be compensated for the last month rental for all the issues ive had.ryan is a fill in employee with great customer service need more people like ryan.I posted this review over a month ago and someone stopped my review and i got no reply so im having to redo the review to make others aware of this facility.update again,district manager called me and was hateful that i gave a one star review and she tried to bribe me when i said i wanted my last payment due compensated and she said if i took away my review she would consider it and i said i will not because my review is what i think and what i went through and that it should be seen by others,the district manager got mad and was hateful with me and then got off the phone abruptly without any promises and if you notice no one has replied to my review.this is why so many companys are failing today due to lack of customer service.we the customer are who pays their salarys,I guess they dont understand that concept.my review stands.public storage is corrupt and needs investigated.

I believe they robbed my storage and changed my locks, stole thousands of dollars worth of items. They were very unhelpful and didn't even submit my lock cut request, refuse to look at the cameras go figure. The first thing they claim is they didn't my storage was robbed daylight during opening hours. They don't even fix the storage doors after but can fix the office and the concrete. I have still yet to see any type of compensation from there insurance. I moved to this storage after being robbed and got robbed again. But they swear they don't know anything and that all of a sudden the cameras do not work

Me and my wife kept her car at the Public Storage for three weeks. It was such a nice and easy experience. The property manager Jessica was very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend using this public storage facility!

Use caution when parking RV here. Ours was vandalized. There’s no security or insurance that protects your vehicle when it gets broken into, because “I wouldn’t even know where to start looking on the video” to find the perp for a police report. But, they’ll give you a $25 credit for your troubles. It’s a $300 lock.

I’ve had my storage a few years and it’s never been an issue with security or privacy the staff is very polite & helpful the property is clean. The downside is they call if your one day late on payment & every day after until it’s paid ! Text, email, calls it’s a bite much & pricey I pay $135 & 155 if late for a small & they went up on the price after about a year into my lease But other than that it’s a decent storage. Absolutely amazing!! Due to circumstances beyond any ones imagination, my partner and I were unable to unload a 26ft Uhaul at our apt. When I rented the Public Storage building online, I chose the wrong size. Imagine my surprise when I found out. LOL Jessica, the CS Rep, Manager, Front Desk, (whatever her title) was truly wonderful!! She helped me figure out exactly what size I needed and then everything fell in place. Thank you Public Storage for being available and THANK YOU Jessica for all you did for me and continue to show it in every way. Your smiling face was a bright spot in our "nightmare move from hell". Keep up the good work!

This storage location is amazing! Last night I took my trailer from my parking spot to use today and the supervisor, Jessica, at this location called me this morning to verify it was me that took it. This is outstanding customer service and I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a trustworthy storage location!

I actually didn't rent a unit here. I just needed help. I went to the wrong location after a very long drive and the lady here was super helpful with looking up my account info and getting me a locksmith.

Prolly don't want my opinion of this particular storage facility, because i have not so good memories of this exact one. Had nothing to do with the professionalism of the owner though.

If you need a storage ask for Alicia best person for the job!

Wonderful experience with a very bright and cheery lady named Alicia! I am an elderly woman moving closer to my daughter when she suggested your storage units. I called and Alicia says "Good morning.. hope your day is going well, how may I help you"? I told her my situation and what I needed. She quickly went to work, checking the units available. Explained everything A-Z. Because I ask a lot of questions and was very patient because I'm hard of hearing. Within 30 minutes I had a unit! She helped make my transition from here to there a wonderful experience and such a kind person. Thank you!
