Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 4350 Forestville Rd, Suitland, MD

If I could give negative stars, I would. Staff: One sweet lady—love her. The other? Rude, talks over you, acts like listening is optional. Pricing: Signed up for a “special” at $179/month. Two months later, new customers get the same unit for $143. Surprise! Rate hikes aren’t small—they’re shocking and all of a sudden now i'm paying $241. Pests: Roaches wandering around units. Mouse droppings on my boxes. Really? This is a storage facility, not a petting zoo. App: They make you download it for everything. Worked once…then quit. Totally useless. Moved in thinking this place was fine. Reality: overpriced, unprofessional, and gross. Save yourself the headache.

Customer service with Ginger was great very knowledgeable Public storage should have every person like Ginger working there. I'm happy

My unit here was great, extremely clean and didn’t see any signs of bugs. Also very secure. I had one minor issue on my move out date but Janice at the front desk went out of her way to get it resolved for me, which was extremely appreciated!

My overall experience with public storage talking to Stephon was an absolute highlight of my day. Very good customer service skills very informative and my overall experience with public storage talking to Stephon was great and I appreciate it because by me calling and seeing if public storage does anything for workers that are not receiving paychecks and cannot pay their rentals I can’t believe that Public storage does not have anything in place for people that are working but was infected by the shutdown, this is a absolute disappointment to me Now I have to figure out how am I going to remove my items and put them somewhere due to this matter very disappointed but very very appreciative of Stephon. The main manger today Sunday Oct 19 2025 that run this facility had a real nasty attitude when I asked if it’s ok if I could park there while I do a job across the street she came off very aggressively talking to me as a child in a belittling manner which made me feel very uncomfortable and I was just asking a question very poor costumer service

Ms. Ginger was a great help. Selecting an unit was quick and easy. My storage unit location was perfect. The access entrance is very convenient and accessible to the loading dock.

I've been with this facility since it was Self Storage Zone, and the staff has always been helpful and professional. I would give 5 stars, but the restricted access hours—specifically not being able to enter after 9 PM—are a bit of a challenge for me. As a business owner, many of my projects wrap up after 9 PM, which means I often have to keep inventory and the rental truck overnight. Extended access hours would be much more convenient and better suited to my needs.

Review for Public Storage – 4350 Forestville Rd, Forestville, MD 20746 I’m a business customer who originally signed up for a storage unit with Self Storage Zone, specifically paying extra for 24-hour access—a critical feature I need to run my business. Since Public Storage acquired the facility, that access has been cut off without warning, explanation, or accountability. Over a month ago, I was locked out of my unit after hours while trying to retrieve equipment for an important out-of-state event. The keypad stated I was attempting to enter “after hours,” even though I pay a premium for 24-hour access. I made multiple attempts over five days to get help from the local site—no answer. When I finally reached customer service, I was told this was a “case-by-case” issue that had to be handled by the site manager. I spent two more days calling the site, and when someone finally answered, I was met with rudeness, dismissiveness, and absolutely no urgency. The young man I spoke with had no answers, offered no solutions, and actually told me to call Self Storage Zone—the company Public Storage bought out—which made zero sense. After I pushed back and reminded him that I’m being charged for 24-hour access I no longer have, he checked my account and finally admitted I was, in fact, paying more. His solution? “I just put in for a credit.” No plan to fix the issue, no attempt to restore access, and no offer to escalate to a district manager—even though customer service said that’s exactly what should happen. This is unacceptable. Public Storage took over, changed the terms, continued to bill me for a service they’re no longer providing, and offered nothing but stonewalling and weak excuses when I tried to resolve it. If you’re a business customer considering this location, don’t waste your time or money. You’ll get charged for services you can’t use and be met with disrespect and indifference when you try to fix it. This facility and its management have completely failed to live up to professional or ethical standards.

Run do not rent from them. The ladies in the office are rude. Never in my life have I had to encounter rude employees. I been in this industry for over 16 years and mgmt will lock u out of your unit if u are one day late. Oh, did I mention mgmt after 6months will go up on you beyond 5%. Ask questions they answer you like u stupid.

I would just like to say that the team at Self Storage Zone in Forestville, MD is BEYOND WONDERFUL! I have been with them for 1 year and they have treated me as if I were family! They are kind, welcoming, and make me feel valued. They have gone above and beyond for me and I will FOREVER be Thankful!! The manager is THE BEST and Shawnte represents him and the unit in the best way possible! The facility is Alway clean and secure. I Love them! I am so glad my valued belongings are in a place where they actually care about people!
