Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 2150 25th St North, St Petersburg, FL

Public Storage operates in a predatory and opaque manner. Communication is nonexistent, fees appear without explanation, access is restricted arbitrarily, and pressure tactics are used to force payment while customers are deliberately kept in the dark. This location appears designed to manufacture default, stack charges, and accelerate units toward auction. The conduct of the on-site managers, Katie Mae and Manny, materially contributed to this outcome. Information provided to us was inconsistent, misleading, and often false, and actions affecting our account were taken without transparency, notice, or written confirmation. Katie Mae’s behavior escalated into what felt like stalking and intimidation. She repeatedly called us, including as recently as this evening, to state that she would not provide access codes over the phone or in writing, that access had to be handled only in person, and that we were not permitted to send anyone to access our unit without her personal authorization because she “needs to keep tabs on who is on her property.” This conduct was controlling, inappropriate, and indicative of a disturbing power trip, not legitimate policy enforcement. Earlier, she approached us unsolicited to claim that another company, CubeSmart, was taking over and that storage units could be emptied “at their discretion.” This statement caused confusion and distress and was later contradicted. That interaction was merely the first in a series of hostile and destabilizing encounters. We are a military family, and the unit contained important and irreplaceable personal and military memorabilia. Despite ongoing efforts to resolve the account, the unit was ultimately sold for $50. This was not a customer service failure—it was exploitation. This review is part of documenting a pattern of conduct, not an isolated incident. Similar complaints can be found across BBB and Google reviews at multiple Public Storage locations.

Irma's was absolutely easy and awesome, she showed me the unit facility day we’re clean got me enrolled & fully insured in less than 40 minutes paperwork in hand & out the door! Keep up the beautiful work this woman deserve a raise Great customer service I recommend her 100%

I was helping my son find storage unit in St. Pete for when he moves there next month. I spoke with Bob and he was super helpful in determining how much storage he might need and all the prices associated with it. Because of Bob's great customer service we have decided to stop shopping around and are going with them.

I had a large storage unit that I needed to downsize to save money. I wasn't looking forward to the project, but Bob and Rolanda made the transfer ultra easy and I had all my stuff moved into the new unit within an hour. Would recommend this location, as the crew here are super helpful!

I had a couple hiccups with getting moved in because of the unit size was way beyond what I needed. But the guy that was there temporarily helping out from another location was able to accommodate me in a smaller more suitable unit so I appreciate that. Upon move out, Rolanda was absolutely amazing. I sent in a request & left a voice message. She called me back and we were able to get it rectified on the phone, she was very friendly, very patient and very proactive about getting to the bottom of it. I appreciate your professionalism and your over-the-top customer service and dedication to what you’re good at! All the best to you!

Public Storage is the absolute worst. We were perfectly happy with Extra Space and now I'm stuck with these guys. Nobody ever reached out to communicate with us when the lot was bought, and they're impossible to reach. It took nearly 2 weeks to reach someone (after I realized my storage unit payment hadn't come out), and even then she was snippy with me on the phone like somehow this was all my fault. If I could afford to I would've moved all my stuff to the Extra Space Storage closer to my house, but I'm trapped here. Don't get trapped like I am.

Rolanda is the only reason for giving 5 stars. She was very helpful in explaining the extra space to public storage changes. Otherwise it would be 1 star for the lack of communication from extra space before they sold. Very confusing for customers

Experienced no issues until they transitioned over to Public Storage. Horrible customer service.

If i could leave a zero star i would. I had a storage unit there for 4 years. Zero problems Eric was amazing there, with extra space storage, then public storage bought them, eric left. No body is ever in office to help, public storage took away the 24/7 access, they changed everyone's lease to the 1st so all the people currently renting there had to pay a month rent then a prorated portion, doesnt public storage make enough money to help out current customers and want to retain then,instead of charging them more money? I met several employees, all were nice, when they were actually there,which was rare,I had to drive to 3 different locations to find some one. I met the regional one day ,which when I asked about the 24/7,he profiled me and made me feel like I was a thief or something cause I wanted to come to my storage unit in the middle of the time. Also they were charging me an extra $100 for the month cause of that week from my old lease to the 1st that they changed, so I tols them i couldn't afford it ,and he made a joke as he was walking out" its only 100" yeah in the worst economic times the usa has seen alot of people in the usa dont have a random 100 a week later to pay a bill. So I was very unhappy with how he treated me. Another nice employee gave me 3 numbers to call for customer service, which one was titled" we care" 1-800 number ...they literally didnt help me out at all, nor showed me any care. Other than black and white you owe this now or else. Not a care at all ,never tried to help me out at all, never suggested anything to help me, not a hey I know you can't pay that hundred on the 1st ,maybe we can do this to help out,nothing at all ! Also went from 24/ to 9pm ,which they lock you in the gate after 9pm and have to call someone to verify you,and read lotsof reviews online about how they put you on like a "naughty list" if you do that a few times and change your gate access times or terminate your lease,now thats bs!! So now they pretty much forced me out of there and zero help. I will never go to another public storage place ever again after how they treated me and showed me zero help at all.

I had a unit when it was Extra Space Storage and cancelled it when it switched it Public Storage because of their mandatory insurance requirement. One star because my unit definitely had water come into it and I was not notified and I know there’s nothing to be done, but I was never informed about the risk of water damage to my stuff.

Well when I first started renting a unit from you guys witch was a 10x10 it was just $100 a month then after so many months it went up from 100 to 170 so I had to downsize to a 5x10 and now that I have been in the 5x10 for a couple months it went from almost $100 a month going up to $132 a month so again I had to downsize to a 5x5 now very great environment very friendly employees only problem I have is how the prices start so low and then after so many months it keeps going higher and higher and higher and higher that is my only problem if it was just a stick at One price I think you get a lot more customers

After looking at many storage faculties I stopped to check Extra Space at the 25th Street location. I had my unit from Aug 2024 until April 2025. This is a wonderful faculty!!! It was and is Extremely clean at all times. Eric in the front office is the nicest person ever !!! I

They hiked my storage from $80/month to $220/month. So I moved everything into my garage. I understand this is part of the storage business. But that is an ABSURD rate hike.

Honor your price agreement and stop raising storage costs! Between October 2023 and March 2025, the storage fee went from $180 to $280! Inflation has nothing to do with a storage unit, and they just raised the fee without notice! Although the unit was clean and the area was well maintained, the price increase was a major concern. The original cost was why we picked them.

Facility could use some work but all in all it’s a good place
