Sarasota Storage Units Near Kensington Park

I have edited this review to be fair to Frank, in the office. He is perfectly competent but has little or no control over rental rates. My original review was two stars (see comment below).
After I posted it, I was contacted by their corporate office. They offered to delay, but not reduce, the proposed rate increase. Thank you! Something is better than nothing.
If you’re looking for long term storage, be sure to factor in big rate increases when choosing a location!!
I will continue to look for a location that offers a better long term pricing policy.
Review posted in January 2025: I knew to expect a rate increase after a while but 39%? that is robbery. It's a pain to move but I'll do as soon as I can.
And, for what it's worth, the lighting is poor and the roll up doors don't stay all the way up.

This is a special thanks to manager FRANK: Me and my husband made a $255 mistake renting a storage unit online with a swing door 🚪 we couldn't use instead of a garage role up door we thought we had rented. Once we brought our mistake to the storage rental businesses' attention they agreed to cancel the lease and return our money in full. But in the middle of the transaction we decided to rent a much smaller and cheaper unit instead of having it returned to us when Frank the manager took over (after trying to find another unit the size door and type we initially wanted but he couldn't find) helped us get into a smaller unit we decided on and credited us our $255 toward renting the smaller unit paid up for several months until June 1. These people were very helpful and friendly throughout the hectic process of us (not them) initially renting the wrong type storage unit online with them agreeing to return our money to then us deciding in the middle of the transition to rent a smaller unit with the same money with manager Frank patiently working with us throughout the whole hectic mess we created for ourselves and this storage rental company making us a very happy couple that we picked this particular storage rental business to mess up with in renting our storage unit from and wish to give them all the stars in the universe for their patience with us and insuring we never lost a penny after mistakingly renting an expensive unit online we we could not use because of the wrong door size. Duh!
I went to Public Storage and Frank, the onsite manage EXCEEDED all expectations with assisting me getting me a storage for myself and my family. He is very kind, friendly, great customer service. I highly recommend this location for storage.

I have two units at this facility and have been a customer there for several years. It is well maintained, and I feel safe when I go there. I have gotten excellent customer service from all of their employees, and most recently from Frank. He is always pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. He answers my questions and offers to help me any way he can. Yesterday evening, I left a question on their voicemail, and Frank called me back this morning - today is the Sunday of Labor Day weekend! I had a great experience from this Public Storage on Beneva Road in Sarasota because of the amazing customer service given to me by Frank, the on-site Manager. He was proactive right from the beginning, called me to see if I had any questions and if I knew when I was making the move from California to Florida. He told me what to expect & when the time came for me to move, he made arrangements with me & PS to allow my POD- like container to be kept on site for a few days while I unloaded it. He really went above & beyond my expectations.
I just hope that some of these other reviews aren’t correct & that my rent doesn’t go up 39%!! That would make me VERY unhappy & I will need to let others be aware!!

I have rented units from several different Public Storage locations and have been pretty satisfied with each one for the most part. After renting from Tiffany I'd have to say that the one on Beneva Rd is by far my favorite. She went above and beyond while assisting me in getting set up with my unit and even helped come up with a solution to an issue I was having with transporting my stuff! She is awesome! I would definitely recommend renting a unit from here and from now on I will only deal with Tiffany because no matter what my issue is I know that she has, and will, always do her best to help me figure out a solution. Actual customer service which is rare these days.
Tiffany is the best. She is always kind and courteous and oh so helpful. She is always busy, cleaning something, helping someone or giving someone a smile with a neighborly and welcoming wave and/or a good morning/afternoon to greet a tenant when she sees them coming or going. But that is why the facility is always in tip top shape. Can’t thank her enough for everything she does for everybody there!!

I had to rent a larger unit (20" ) and was quoted a price but when I got there is was a lot more. I was paying over $450 a month for the unit and added in fees. They have been great and, since I had moved a lot into the new place, offered me to transfer to a smaller unit and credit the amount I have paid this month.
