this specific location (two businesses down from the actual main location) has only one camera at the entrance, and not in the halls where the actual units are in. Several units were broken into during the time I rented (including mine.) I asked when did this happen, and all they could tell me is that they weren't sure, as the units weren't frequently checked. Workers there mentioned it was frequent issue, and so did the police officer that took down my report. I moved out my stuff afterwards and found that on my move-out date, the unit next to mine was also broken into.
It was definitely a convenient location for me. The price was great for awhile & then skyrocketed because you're essentially month to month. I moved just last month & pulled my items from storage & found a chunk of them had water on the boxes. One box was so wet, it was dripping as I moved it. Thankfully that box was just Corning Ware but I haven't unpacked everything yet to see it all. I have insurance but I can't file a claim if a autographed Sharks poster gets destroyed, it's not a high enough value. While this issue sucks for me, I stated what happened at move out but yet no one said anything. So I'm assuming the leak isn't fixed, in that case I wouldn't recommend unit B12. Or if you do, keep everything to the right side. Overall the place is good, I've just had an issue with my personal unit.
Great place to rent, secure, clean and cameras all over and not to mention 2 ladies always on site cleaning with a nice smile and attitude. Annie and Adri are the best....a few months ago I was shopping for a place to store, when to most competitors and I have decided to rent here...September is my starting date.

I would give your on site manager 100 stars if I could. Her customer service was above and beyond. She listened to my concerns regarding the door and lock unit on my space. She took me to see other units, had me check the roll up door and lock unit before I changed spaces. She was so pleasant and personable. What I thought might be an issue, she made as smooth as silk. It is not often I run into such customer service. She is a huge asset to your company.

2024 REVIEW - DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. MY BUSINESS RENTED A STORAGE UNIT AND IT WAS ROBBED ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHER UNITS. THIS IS A HUGE OPERATION AND THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN. WE MET THE POLICE THERE AND LOCATED THE STORAGE UNIT ALSO ON THE SAME PREMISES WITH STOLEN GOODS FROM OTHER UNITS. NOW THEY ARE RAISING THE RENTS, DESPITE CAMERAS NOT WORKING AND BEING COMPLETELY ROBBED OF ALL MY BUSINESS AND OFFICE SUPPLIES AND WORKOUT GEAR. WHAT'S CRAZY IS THE AUCTIONED OFF THE UNIT WITH THE STOLEN GOODS FROM OTHER RENTERS THAT PROBABLY DON'T EVEN KNOW THEY HAVE BEEN ROBBED. THIS IS FAR FROM OVER AND I WILL MAKE SURE TO LET NEWS AND OTHER MEDIA VERY AWARE OF THIS FRAUD AND CRIME RING IN CASTRO VALLEY!!!!!!!!
I was out in CA. From NM - my sister was sick & since I planned to move back to CA in a few months, I packed some boxes & put them in storage in Hayward, Ca.
I only wanted a small storage, but it would be for a few months.
I got a cryptic note from PS that my storage had been compromised & I should go look at it. They knew I was not in state - I tried to send a text to them, but it was rejected. I couldn't get thru on the phone. I heard nothing more until an Alameda Co deputy had the concern to call.
I am rating this place as horrible. I wish i could give it a negative #.
There is a woman sitting in front of a screen & that is all. No carts, no locks where they should be & a really bad attitude.
We have been at Public Storage for over 10 years. Our unit just got broken into and my husband’s tools and other items were stolen.. They didn’t notify us. They didn’t call us. We only found out when we showed up today. We have no idea when our unit was broken into whoever did this had the code to get in their cameras should’ve been working now They are going to get sued
Do not put your belongings and valuables at this storage unit there’s no manager on the property the cameras And they don’t care about people breaking into your unit not only that there’s been multiple times. We haven’t even been able to get into our unit. We’re paying a significant amount of money for.

"Me robaron mis cosas en este lugar" fui sabado a dejar unas cosas y el domingo me comunicaron que mi unidad la encontraron abierta🤔 un dia recibí un correo de parte de ellos con mi codigo de acceso, cosa que yo no pedi! y que me pareció extraña, luego me bloquearon el acceso diciendo que lo hacían por actividades sospechas🤔 sospechosas de que!! y despues me roban. No hay camaras dentro va ser muy difícil con la aseguranza ya tengo el reporte policial, pero lo vamos a intentar, por cierto no soy el unico, cualquiera que tenga rentada una unidad le recomiendo que valla a revisar.
