Worst public storage ever. 1st unit didnt have the full lock so I was unable to secure my stuff. Called customer service was told to wait the next day to reach property management but property management was never there to assist either days. Ended up transferring units just to find out the unit was full of mud and puddles of water. It smelled like animals had been in there, pissy and disgusting. Aweful experience. Ended up requesting a refund. Will never use this place again

Absolutely the most disgusting and horrifying place I’ve ever been. I left my stuff in storage there for 2 1/2 years. It was over 100° with no working AC. They had a rat infestation problem. All of my belongings were eaten by rats or pooped on. It was a total loss. Do not store your goods in this rat infested hell hole.

Supposedly suppose to make an appointment but there’s never an option because the property managers never answer. Very unprofessional will never use this storage facility location ever again! I would give it zero stars if I could. This place is absolutely infested with rats. You can hear dozens of them around you in units as your trying to access yours, and the smell of rat urine is detectable even outside the building. I purchased a storage unit at auction here and the rat turds were so numerous that it looked like someone dumped an entire bottle of chocolate sprinkles on an ice cream cone they were so numerous and thick. Stay away for your own health. You can die from viruses caused by rat urine. Everything was soaked....a total loss
THIS JOEL WHEATON PUBLIC STORAGE LOCATION IS GREAT. SECURED SAFE LOCATION, ALL CAMERAS AND LIGHTING IS SAFE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RATE WAS SUPER LOW.....ALSO THE STAFF AND PROPERTY MANAGER PINKY WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. PINKY ASSISTED THROUGHOUT MY TIME THERE AND WAS ALWAYS AWESOME. I am very disappointed with my unit 6053. 3 days ago I was speaking to someone in the loading area. There were multiple broken glasses. By the time I got home my tire was flat because there was a piece of broken glass in it. I had to get it repaired the following day. It costed me $20. Last week 2 doors from my unit my neighbor asked me to come in and there was multiple dead rats. My neighbor that has multiple rats in unit wanted me to act as a witness and took a picture of me in the unit. The unit is supposed to be climate controlled but when I do come there it's always hot. There is flies everywhere. This is very unsatisfactory for me a a customer. I am paying to much money for the unit for it to not be climate controlled. I was contacted by the BBB but I didn't not get back with them. I am requesting a copy of the invoice so that I can review the charges that have been placed on my credit card. I've been bite several times by the mosquitoes. I should receive some type of credit for my tire becoming flat. I do have a copy of the invoice. I'm hoping I don't get any rats in my unit because of there is no seal above. It's also disappointing the facility does not have no dolly's. Your company has mislead and given me false information about the safety. I hope I do not have to post this information online or contact the BBB.

have been trying to get ahold of property manager but they are never there and never answer the phone.
I made the mistake of booking online. Do not book sight unseen. What they call climate control is not really. It was the open air at the top. It was the same temperature as outside. It was rusted metal. It looked disgusting in there. I was in such a hurry to leave, I didn’t even take pictures. I have two other true climate control units at the Public Storage at 10200 Main St. The units in there are in amazing condition compared to this dump. Go there. I was planning to move my stuff from that location to this one because it’s closer to where I moved to m, but there is no way I’m doing that now. I’d rather drive farther and keep my stuff in the Main Street location.
This place is very convenient to my apartment. Went in today to rent a unit and was very pleased with Jorge who showed us the unit and was very thorough and polite. We were in and out in a timely manner and started moving our things in today. Thank you Jorge!!
Edit: We had the unit for a year and a half. It was an inside unit (supposed to be air conditioned, but never was on). My unit and 5 others all next to each other were broken into. Apparently, the broke into one unit and climbed up the wall to the chain link fencing that is the roofing on top of the units. They just cut through the chain link and dropped down in to each of the 5 units. I highly DO NOT recommend this Public Storage its located in a very dangerous, crime ridden and shady area of Houston.

Have my cousin sharing a unit with me, a major rat infestation hundreds of rats running around, jumping from unit to unit. The smell of rat pee and poop is at an amonia level. All my thing now smell like rat pee, every thing is unsaveable. The furniture chewed up, wood furniture absorbed the urine, clothes, suit cases all chewed up by rats looking for food. Don't store your things here, it better to sell it or just throw it away. It is a health issue at this point. The new guy that just started was very rude on the phone, I spoke with him on the phone 12/30/24 very bad cocky attitude as if he doesn't want to be there. I can see him running every one away from public storage on 2603 Joel Wheaton Rd Houston TX 77082. Don't consider this place to store your beautiful things.
Rats Rats and more Rats! I am traumatized seriously! I have videos of them running around in the ceiling and they were big as hell! A whole family! Everything I put in the storage was brand new my unit was top tier clean but the rats were my only problem. Thankfully there weren’t in my unit but just the fact that they were so close freaks me out 🤦🏾♀️

Theresa was not only very polite and cheerful, she was also very helpful with everything involved with the renting process, taking the time to explain things, making sure I had an the information and details to move in and Theresa really helped make moving my stuff in and renting the unit with public storage such an awesome experience that I'm not only writing about it but I'm also suggesting that any and everyone in the Houston area that needs a storage facility to use this location and experience the best customer service around by an extremely sweet individual named Theresa Mukes--- she will absolutely take care of you!!!!! The storage location itself is a little sketchy however, the property attendant Ms Theresa is on point! I recently leased a space. There was a communication issue between reservation and actual property . She went above and beyond to solve the problem. She even stayed late to help me. My move in went smooth thanks to Ms Theresa.

This storage has been broken into twice since I moved my belongings in. The door has a code that only renters should know so it must be an inside job. We never get compensated for violators rummaging through our belongings and breaking into our supposedly secured spaces. This place is not safe to keep your stuff. Too many break ins.

I’ve used the storage facilities since October 2023, it is now May 2024. I must say Arty is an great employee, he is very helpful and reasonable. But my recommendation to you would be to use this facility for short term use ONLY. Accessing my unit now, all of my belongings have roaches and spiders and their webs all over them. I am so distraught because I could have gotten rid of my things And purchased new stuff if I known they would be like this when I return to them. I had a climate controlled unit, and it still felt as if it was a unit that was outside. the temperature outside was the temperature inside. The hallways smelt like dog food, amongst other things, and each time I needed to access my unit there was always a lovely roach welcoming me by the doorway and throughout the halls. I really need to speak to someone because they even raised the price of my unit on me twice and they didn’t even keep my belongings safe, Whether it be through climate, or away from pest.
Randy , the manager, was awesome! Demonstrated professionalism , kindness, and patience. He showed around and answered all my questions. I'm completely satisfied with all aspects of this visit. I I highly recommend this public storage location.

I can deal with a lot of things without wanting to give a 1 star, and I probably have a few things I could list here…. I’ll only list one. When I was moving out I needed to go to the office and I texted the manager the day before that my movers would be there to the office the next day. He said okay, and then closed early no warning. The sad part is we had already gotten a U-Haul and it was a relocation situation, so it put a large dent in all the arrangements I did. They gave me a $25 inconvenience credit. Great. I’d say it’s a bit unprofessional if you ask me…. Never again

I searched near by storages and saw an ad for Public Storage. I spoke with Alesia who was very helpful. She reserved a room for me to check out. Upon arrival my reservation was scheduled as promised. Alesia was a God send she helped me when I first went there..two days later I went and upgraded my rental size another young man helped me and when I tell you red flag was given when I had hard time locking storage to which employee had help nevertheless I got my items in I came back 2days later at 7:30am before the 100 degree heat set in I could not open my unit 😭😞 I tried and tried I called Public Storage they couldn't do anything 😕 but say wait till office open the door to office was opened but no one in side 😕 I'm hot and sweaty by now I just didn't want to pack all the stuff I had unpacked by myself because I'm a Senior with injuries so I called Public Storage customer relations again this time I was left in tears but Alesia was early and she took over and she helped me I had to put my things in other room until lock got fixed and she called the next day and I was able to get in my storage I wanted to say she went above and beyond to help me..I need a discount or something for my troubles ..

So unprofessional, I went to vacate my unit on Sunday at 10 am and the attendant verified everything was good and said you’re all set just wait for the email of your move out receipt , she didn’t send the email and the next day I receive a call from Javier saying I left a lock , which makes no sense if the attendant had done their job properly you think I would leave a lock and her telling me I’m all Good and to expect the move out email . The unit was reactivated on my account , lack of professionalism .. I followed the guidelines to vacate and I’m not paying any additional for your employees not following your procedures.

LaShonda was awesome. Helped me get set up with a storage unit & informed me well of my options and guidelines for renting a storage unit with them.
Public storage was great, however there needs to be TOW signs up over at the 24 access side. I'm renting a 10x25 24 access and the intelligent people going to the hooka lounge and O2 club blocked off the road with 2 cars diagonally. One on each side. I couldn't get to my unit. Had to unload my uhaul two doors down. Thank you people, it was so much fun. My neighbor that helped me is a lyft driver and they blocked her car and my uhaul in. Most of the vehicles parked there had no licenses plates or an expired temp tag, smashed rear bumper, 1/4 panel and lights gone. No head lights working, high beams on others. Nice to be blinded while unloading a uhaul.

I had 6 star service from from the Public Storage employees. The on-site property manager, LaShonda gave me customer service that I haven’t had over the past 10 years. The was efficient, answered all my questions with a glowing smile. She even walked me to my unit and offered a closer unit due to my bad hips. Thanks LaShonda. In addition, Alex was the corporate agent we spoke to on the phone to get information on the property. He also gave 6 star service.
