Absolutely unacceptable experience. My unit is covered in rat feces and smells like rats. This is a serious health concern. I’ve left multiple voicemails and have received zero response. Completely unprofessional. I’ve already scheduled my move-out and will not be returning. If I see an actual rat, I will lose it. Do better.

My units 0333 and 0239 went from $77 to $113 and no one answers the office. I was also charged several late fees that should not have been applied. I need this increase reviewed and the late fees credited back to my account immediately.

I had such a great experience at Public Storage thanks to Tiffany and Elvira. I accidentally used the wrong card for a payment, which created a bit of a mess on my end. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at RecNation due to what I consider poor management and questionable billing practices.
I have been a customer for five years. During that time, I have never missed a payment and have consistently complied with all requests, including providing proof of insurance whenever it was requested. However, the proof-of-insurance policy has changed multiple times, and there has not been a clear or consistent method for monitoring coverage or submitting documentation. Despite the lack of clarity and shifting platforms, I have made every effort to comply with their requirements.
When my insurance policy expired, I was never contacted or asked to provide updated documentation. I also never requested or authorized enrollment in their protection plan coverage. Instead, I was automatically charged for protection plan coverage without any prior notice. To make matters worse, there were no billing receipts or invoices provided for the January or February charges.
After noticing the first charge, I immediately called, left multiple voicemails, and sent emails—none of which received any response. When a second charge appeared, I again called, left voicemails, and emailed, and still received no response. Only after persistent efforts was I finally able to speak with someone. While they agreed to note my account appropriately moving forward, they refused to backdate or reverse the charges that had already been applied.
The lack of communication, absence of billing documentation, constantly changing insurance procedures, and refusal to correct improper charges reflect very poor management practices. I would strongly caution others to monitor their accounts closely if choosing to store with this company.
Unfortunately i was offered a promotion and rushed to provide a good review about my experience right after. Only to find out less than 6 months later my rate would be increased for both units for more than $100. I escalated my concern to Regional since the local Mueschke contact Rosa had confirmed she would honor my initial rate a few more months, but never made changes in system. I have been in communication for about a month now trying to get them to honor rates confirmed to me on a recorded line but am now not even receiving a call back from anyone. I would encourage anyone using this location to hold off on submitting a review for a few months, so the same click and bait tactic isn't done to you. It seems their promotions are a hook and if you read your contract before hand, they are able to increase rates at any time.
I am beyond disappointed with my experience at this Public Storage location. I rented a climate controlled unit for six months, only to find upon moving out on January 2nd that my entire household's worth of belongings was covered in rat feces and urine. With furniture and items also being chewed through.
This isn't just a matter of property damage; it is a severe health hazard. The building itself is clearly infested, as I saw other units with the same issue and rat droppings throughout the hallways. The bait traps I saw were neglected and stuffed with leaves, showing a complete lack of maintenance and negligence on the property's part.
What is worse is the lack of communication. I was promised a follow-up from the property manager shortly, yet it has been days with zero response. I have left numerous voicemails and have now had to escalate this to corporate just to hopefully get a word from a district manager. I am still waiting for a resolution regarding the safe removal/disposal of these contaminated items and full reimbursement. Save yourself the headache and the health risk. Do NOT rent here.
Terrible customer service. Office/store always closed. Can’t get a hold of no one when calling. Gives us the run around. Paid for unit and can’t even get in. Homeless problem. Worker only showed up to close and didn’t assist with the problem. Gave us multiple units and none of them were able to open.
Moving is always a nightmare, but Tiffany at Public Storage was the bright spot of my day. I was stressed out and unsure if my furniture would fit in a 10x10. Tiffany took the time to walk me to the unit, gave me some great packing tips, and even helped me find the best deal on moving boxes. She turned a stressful afternoon into a smooth experience. Store your things anywhere but here- literally anywhere but here. You can hardly get anyone on the phone and they do not follow through with what they say they’re going to do. If you do catch someone on the phone, they are rude. They charged the incorrect card after they were supposed to change the payment method and charged late fees and put a black lock on a unit without any communication and- even though they made the mistake. We have used public storage at other locations before with no problem. The staff here seems to be the issue. We had a death in the family and their info and payment info was on the unit and even after changing it with them, they charged the account of the deceased and are charging us the late fees and lock fees for their mistake. Even under the circumstances they are rude and do not care. Completely insensitive on top of not correcting their own mistake. Happy to speak with management about the issue as well but again, it’s hard to reach anyone.

If I could rate zero stars, I would. This is my first negative review. Public Storage had to earn it!
This has been the WORST customer experience we’ve ever had with any storage company EVER!
Zero accountability: On-site staff have no authority to resolve issues (even though customer service claims they do). The district manager, Mario, hasn’t responded to a single email in over a month. Employees are trained to deny, deflect, and dismiss.
Excessive rent hikes: Our 15x15 unit went from $375 to $590 in less than a year.
Rodent infestation: Rats infested Building 2 and destroyed many of our belongings, including antique furniture. Public Storage stonewalled us, passed us around to different people, and ultimately ignored us.
Insurance scam: Their so-called insurance is useless. Online claims didn’t work, phone lines were endless hold times with no call back, and even if successful, the payout would have been only $150.
We’ve rented storage for nearly 20 years across different locations, and this Public Storage is by far the most disingenuous, neglectful experience we’ve ever had.
Their business model seems designed to exploit customers: raise rents, ignore problems, and dodge responsibility.
As the largest storage company in the U.S., they think they can get away with it—and they do. Don’t let them do it to you.

Public storage is very lucky to have her as an employee. She said I could call her anytime I had a question. I felt very secure storing my stuff at this public storage location!

If you need assistance and have not been able to speak with someone, Rosa is their star employee who contacts you. She is very professional, thorough, and a great listener. I had a few issues going on which she managed to solve perfectly within a timely manner.

Have had a small space here for 4 years. Close to home and easy access for retreiving our year-round holiday items. The facility is always kept clean and secure. Spoke with Cory today and he helped me take care of some business related to our account. He was very professional and friendly, and called back promptly with answers. Cory is a great addition to the other wonderful ataff we have dealt with at this facility for years.

I rarely use storage units due to.previous experiences with unrelated storage companies, but this one has me impressed. The assistant manager, Ariel, gave me the upmost respect and professionalism I've ever seen within a company. Her exceptional help and knowledge to assure the safety of my property and proper instruction has ease any worries I had. Thank you, Simply Safe Storage for employing such competent, knowledgeable and pleasant staff to help my accommodations.
We utilized Simply Self Storage for a little over two years and our experience was great. We only stopped because we no longer needed to unit. The property manager Joe is wonderful and even personally called us once to handle a payment issue after a card was replaced so we could avoid any late fees.

After renting 2 storage units for the past 13 months my disappointment has continued to grow. From the time I started renting until now I have been the victim of several price increases. These price increases have a combined percentage increase of 35% in 13 months. The dollar figure increase is 67.00 which is only 12.00 less than the amount I was paying per unit when I moved in. I assume this is why they do not have you sign an annual contract so they can without reason increase your rent as other units are not occupied or fees are not being paid. It does not feel good knowing that a company will penalize the ones that utilize their property and pay their rent every month without delay. Very Unhappy. I will be removing my items in the next 60 days and storing them in my garage and on my families property. A little less convenient but free. Had 0 Stars been a choice I would have selected it!!!!

Simply put, this location has everything you could want/need in a storage facility — safe, clean, easy access and a helpful, friendly staff willing to assist with any questions you may have. I wouldn’t consider storing my things — valuable and otherwise — anywhere else.
