Adding to this review to confirm that Public Storage has done nothing to address the smell in the basement level of this facility. I have received not one response from the facility or corporate on actions they plan to take to address it. There is a huge problem on the climate controlled basement level at this Public Storage Facility where I've had a unit since January 2022. A noxious chemical smell permeates the floor and inside my unit. The items I have stored there have now absorbed this stench. I have notified Public Storage through multiple means: the onsite staff person, customer service chat line, corporate-level customer service P.O. box, and regional managers. Not one person has contacted me to follow-up and no action has been taken. I would steer clear of this facility.

I was able to book a space while out of state, thanks to the support of Arturo! He was able to provide a clear answer to all my questions and uncertainties. I definitely recommend reserving a space at this location.

I came today to look at some spaces. This is a very good storage place. I had no issues with the unit, the company, the location, customer service, the staff, etc., even in the times I accessed on foot (no pov- use rental cars). I had one incident where I got locked in after hours in 2021, which was scary, but customer service assisted me and the staff called me the following day and took note to avoid any future similar occurrences. I would use them again in the future, if needed.

I highly recommend this location. I was fortunate to have been assisted by Mike, and am happy with the level of service I received. Not only was Mike patient with my many questions, the check-in process very smooth. Prior to meeting with Mike, I met with Ben the prior week, and he, too, very patiently answered my questions.

Horrible. We have had to change units three times because of MOLD in their so called air conditioned space. The turnover rate of their front office staff is deplorable. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

For sure, everyone has a "bad day" from time to time. However, when the same person consistently misses the mark regarding public service, someone must bring attention of this to corporate management. For over one year now, I have been doing business at this location. I would like to believe the front office employees and myself would have developed excellent repor by now, unfortunately that is not the case here. I do not desire to write a book about this matter. However, it appears some corporations have assumed the position of "MASTER" while the "PAYING PUBLIC" IS SERVANT... After a hostile encounter, I found it necessary to take an additional dose of blood pressure medication. Every employee is the "FACE" of the business. And, yes, one bad apple can spoil the whole lot... Sincerely

We are very happy with the size of our storage unit. Ben and his associate each made the time to show me several units during three visits. They were very patient as we worked out our needs. This Public Storage location has a great feature which allows you to park inside (under cover) near the entrance and elevator, which is a real plus when it is raining or snowing.

All public storage close gate access at 9 except this one in silver spring closes at 6pm , we had to stop unloading at 6pm so,.had to pay the company to come back the next day to finish put our stuff in the storage 😀, that's inconvenient and more money they need to get with the program

This was my first time using a storage facility and Ben was incredibly helpful in explaining everything to me and assisting with my move-in. The building is easily accessible and did not have too much traffic coming in and out. My unit was ready for me within minutes of renting online and I am very pleased with the experience! I highly recommend storing here.

Good location, customer service when available and facility. Only issue would be the hours of operation as they close at 5 or 6 pm most nights. I’m sure there’s a reason most likely for public safety. But it can be an inconvenience at times especially for normal 9-5 workers. Overall a great location!

Had a good experience here. I was in a rush and called to reserve a unit 30 minutes before they closed. The check in date for the unit wasn't until the next day but they let us come in a day early. Ben was very helpful. The units are clean and easy to get to.

I just recently rented a storage unit at this facility and had a wonderful experience with Ben, the property manager at this site. I had a few small issues with my rental at the beginning (not Ben's fault), and he went out of his way to help resolve everything. It was extremely clear that Ben cares about his customers and making sure that they have a good experience at his facility. I cannot recommend him highly enough. As far at the facility goes, I was always able to access one of the covered parking spots and the free use of the moving carts was a huge help. My only wish is that they kept the gates open a bit later into the evening. I would definitely rent from here again if I have any future storage needs.

Would love to have a map of the space since unit numbering is weird. Had to ask for a cart which was readily provided would be nice to have them in a central location. Nice assistant.

Very frustrating location. They never have dollies available for use moving boxes. Manager stated that they don't leave them out over night because one was stolen (okay thats fine). Problem is there are never any dollies available during BUSINESS hours and the manager (who is incredibly polite when actually around) has been nowhere to be seen the last two times I have been to the facility (both visits have been between 10 am and 1pm). *I even waited until the little 'clock' on the office door said he would be back and no one ever came back.... If dollies are not safe from being stolen due to no manager around and no cameras, then why should we feel that our actual belongings are any safer? I have a few more trips to make to this place, if there is an actual employee there next time I go I will update this review.

I've had nothing but issues at this location. I had three units in this facility and I used it for one of my businesses that operated in downtown silver spring before covid. Unfortunately the place has gone downhill (dirty, closes early, rats, mice, and insects) and the management has gotten worse and worse. The manager Ben continues to make up his own hours and harasses customers who need to get into their units. I asked for the district managers information, but was refused the info. I was literally yelled at and screamed at by the manager on several occasions. I eventually moved all my stuff out on Easter Sunday and Monday. I couldn't take the constant unprofessional and inappropriate actions by the on site manager. I have used the tech road and laurel locations without issue, but this one has to be the worst. I have the manager on video screaming and cursing. But I am. It sure who I should report this issue to in the company. They should know who they have in control at this location. They are loosing money everyday. I literally spoke to three people moving out for the same reasons.

Went to public storage last week to buy some moving supplies. They didn’t have everything i needed but i was still able to get the job done. Clinton was the guy who helped us. He was a friendly person. Tried his beat to accommodate for us.

Large corporate chains unfortunately often lose sight of the importance of customer service. Highly recommend American Self Storage over this Public Storage Location. Public Storage would not allow us to access our storage unit after driving two hours across state to drop off items. The employee attempted to contact his District Manager but would not allow us in despite the fact that we had a mattress tied to the top of the car. He was unphased by the fact that we could not drive two hours across multiple highways back to our location and delay this drop-off, especially with the winter storm that will drop at least 5 inches of snow over the next two days. American Self Storage came to the rescue for us. Awesome customer service, extended storage hours, an after-hours hotline for questions or concerns, and it is a locally-owned business. Within 10 minutes of speaking to the rep we were able to access our storage unit and move all of our belongings. Wow!!! Thank you American Self Storage, you gave us an incredible customer service experience after having an awful exchange with the employee at Public Storage. You literally saved the day for us and we greatly appreciate all that you did. I hope this review encourages others to consider using American Self Storage's facilities over Public Storage. Support a local business and have a great customer service experience!

Easy sign up online. Relatively easy enter and exit of facility. Only blocks from my home. Only three stars because a storage facility with hundreds of units has ONLY ONE hand cart for moving stuff between car and locker unit. Come on.....makes the experience very poor and the value very low.

The manager, Sydney, is wonderful and Public Storage is lucky to have her! I had an issue with my storage unit fees but when I approached ,Sydney about it, she immediately set to make it right. She is professional, helpful, understanding and so pleasant. She, along with Brad the regional manager, helped to make a stressful situation (not of her making, it must be said) less so. I am so impressed on how she followed up with me to make sure I knew what was happening each step of the way and I truly feel that she has done all she can to make sure I am happy with the outcome! Marcie, Marcie, Marcie: she is thorough, knowledgeable, helpful, professional...need I go on? She gets 5 stars! The facility on the whole has it's shortcomings, i.e. gate malfunctions, number of staff, elevator and stair cleanliness, et cetera, but given that our needs were minimal, it worked for us. The prices are generally competitive provided they are running one of their 'first month free promos.' I hope this helps.

I’ve been a public Storage Customer for about 7 years. I’m a high strung-high maintenance customer. Over these years I have had some some “not so good” but lots of “really good” experiences specially after Jalonda came on board working with Fred. Even though she and I locked horns on the first day of working together She has proven to work in concert with Fred to make sure that a tight ship is run and a friendly face is always present. I recommend this location of Public Storage. I also recommend that because of this teams professionalism there needs to be proper honor and recognition of such. She is awesome this facility will miss her when she leaves. This facility has been a turn around with her being here and making sure the property is clean and customers are happy.
