It is expensive and no one is ever there. You have to wait a day to get a call back. I am trying to add someone to the account for the app and it's not letting me. It's a flawed system that's easily taking money from us.

The front security gate is broken and always standing wide open. Dozens of units are robbed every month. Cameras are almost always “broken” and the staff do not care. Do not store your belongings here unless you want it to be stolen.
The gate has been broken since we got the unit last month. I went to the unit today to find our unit was broken into, but was relocked, so we don’t know if any of our belongings are in there.
Worst experience. My unit was burglurized before I even finish bringing my storage in. I was put in the very back where they knew there was no working cameras. Chanon is rude and dishonest. I believe she had her friend break in to my unit. She also would not refund the extra months I paid and she stole a hundred dollars from me. People go elsewhere or you will regret it. Do not store anything with this storage facility. Their cameras are painted over and they knew this but said nothing to me. I picked this storage because their web site said on-site manager and video surveillance both are untrue. The gate some nights is wide open all night long. Chanon acts sweet and has most people fooled. There is an investigation ongoing will keep you updated.
Josh helped me set up my storage unit account and he was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I cannot say enough good things about my experience at this location.

I just had the worst customer service from MANAGER Channing at old Broadmoor public storage. So rude because she got a 5/10 rating at her facility because people weren’t following the rules of one car per gate opening and the walk in door being propped open. She was exasperated with my rating saying she can’t stand by the gate all day long, she’s really busy because she’s been gone for 3 days. I asked if she was going to be calling the individuals that did this…she’s apparently too busy from not being there to make sure the site is kept safe moving forward. I told her she was being very rude. She hung up on me, a paying customer. Public storage really needs to do better. Public storage needs to listen to that call if it was taped, Channing was completely inappropriate and her behavior was completely unacceptable.
Ive been storing my belongings here for a couple years and have had Zero issues. The staff is amazing. Jenn is always there to help me when I need something. I highly recommend this location

Review For Service Members:
If you want a storage unit that cares about security, that has clean units while you're deployed, or will contact you when there is a suspicious occurrence with your unit; DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE. God help you if you do.
Where are a couple examples from my experience with Public Storage.
1. Both units were broken into. Will they provide me an incident report? No. Will they provide video surveillance? No. I have a recording of the site manager stating those cool TVs in the office are only "to show customers" that there are security cameras. Not that anyone actually uses them.
2. I returned from a 6 month deployment to find BOTH units with different locks that I did not place on them. If I was born without hands or feet, I could still count on my hands and feet the number of times they contacted me about replacing my locks. They contacted me a generously ZERO number of times. One of those locks THEY PLACED ON MY UNIT THEMSELVES.
3. There is no direct line to any customer service representative. If you choose to store your life long belongings with Public Storage, I will help you figure out how to contact their customer service because every number they claim is a direct line does not actually direct you to customer service. I know you will eventually need to contact them. First, call that silly number that says "contact our customer service". It will give you only an option to know about your units you pay them for or to contact a sales man. Unfortunately, yes, you have to ask a sales man to transfer you to customer service. Bada Bing, bada boom. You got customer service. Takes an extra 5 or 10 minutes to do so when they hide.
4. They have left the gate open for the past 3 weeks straight as of this post. There is zero security to enter. I cannot imagine it takes three weeks to fix a gate that looks like it was bought at Home Depot. To each their own.
5. Driving on the entire property is the equivalent of off road mudding. It's dusty and dirty everywhere. There are bumps and pot holes that make driving through a sand dune feel more developed than their property.
Here are a couple pieces of advice in order of priority for anyone considering renting here.
1. Find someone else to rent storage space from.
2. Don't place anything in your unit that is more valuable than a piece of printing paper.
3. Expect public storage to take security as serious as your grandma's neighborhood library box.
4. Read your insurance policy carefully and enter their contact number into your phone contacts. Public storage will NOT help you make a claim. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with their customer service asking for assistance with that. The ONLY thing they did was provide me a contact number I already had. The insurance company is quite nice though. 5 of 5 stars for them.
God bless the troops. Please find someone else to store your stuff.

This storage facility is not secure. They have been experiencing repeated break ins and made no improvements to their security. The cameras are often down and the front gate is broken and often left standing wide open at night. When management was made aware of the failure in the gate, a missing part renders the gate useless, nothing was done about it.

Needed to find a unit that was clean , secure and affordable and im glad i chose this location . This place is much better than my last storage unit . Its always clean , its very secure / safe and i never see sketchy people trying to sleep in the units . But i think the best part of this place since i came there has to be channing the front desk person. She helped me with finding the right sized unit , get a goid rate for it and even suggested a few good moving companies to help me at a mucher lower price than what i was originally gonna go for . This place rocks!

I will give four stars for the place on old broadmoor road. The safety and great personality at the front desk not only showed me great hospitality at every storage unit, but even though the security storage's computer and transaction system needs a huge update, she was able to go "old school" and enter numbers manually. I particularly didn't like that part of our transaction. So I would hope in the future you as a company update your system to make it easier for not only the customer but your employees. That's my only complaint. Other than that, great spot. Thank you for your services and wonderful staff.

So happy public storage bought this place out. They are redoing all the correct measures to insure this place is nice and secure. Love the staff , great group of people doing the best they can. Been working with public storage for many many years and they are a bunch of help . I've needed bigger units at times and they've handle it right away. Great job looking forward to doing more business 👍
Excellent storage experience! I didn't know that the unit comes with a FREE lock and key!! And I didn't know that it has an awesome light!!! I love this place! The staff is great too!

Rent increased by 20% with no notification. CO State Dept notified. Spoke to the property manager, she stated she could not access my account, she gave me a number to call for customer service. She verified there was no notice of rent increase.
Called the number, it has no option to speak to anyone or even file an issue. Came in, spoke to her in person, she repeated multiple times, “she did not know why, that’s the number they gave her”, she absolutely did not know why it didn’t work. Gave me a new number to call without ever attempting to help me solve the issue.
Continuing to escalate.

Marie is terrific. There are other unrelated storage facilities closeby which are sketchy but this one is always very clean, well-directed, well-maintained, and safe. I am always impressed. Long term user here...the facility changed ownership a few years back but the quality has been maintained. The present manager Marie is wonderful, and now Becky.
Sadly I recently found out that the average rates for 10x10 storage locally run $80-160 and this place is charging me $250 for this outdoor though I am a long time faithfully-paying user. I also had a truck and two men ready to move me in April but when my unit got hit by someone's moving truck in March my unit's door wouldn't open (after I paid for all of March due on the first and even April as they said it would be fixed but wasn't - but the owners comped me August for the April payment). When the corner outside (not on the inside as that moving truck hit damaged the inside wall which Marie saw) was fixed in midJuly and the door could finally be opened my friends had already PCSed. I am in my 70s on limited income and now have to pay to move my things out of this unit now, so trying to do it on my own mostly though I cannot lift some things. My own car was hit while parked downtown so being repaired most of August as previously scheduled through my insurance, so I was without a car for 3 weeks August due to the difficulty of getting the front bumper part, further complicating me doing this move on my own when this unit was finally open for my access again. I have found a place that will give me the first month's rent free, is climate controlled indoor with good hours and monitored & locked for only $126 for the same 10x10 space. Am going to move this month though have to pay the $250 for September after I asked if I could pay their current rental rate rather than what they charge me for September while I finish leaving, but it was denied. ADDITION: They billed me $300 for September' rent (which I paid as trying to move all by myself) ...sigh. Guess they don't want me to stay.

IMO, This location is unsafe! There are homeless living in the units; conducting drug deals in broad daylight.
This location sits directly between an assisted living center and a grocery store. The property has the only sidewalk in the neighborhood — The sidewalk only runs the one side of the street on their property. Unfortunately, they don't remove snow and ice in the winter, or weeds in the summer. There are 4 foot weeds blocking the sidewalk. Elderly/disabled residents are forced to walk or drive their rascal scooters out in the street with cars racing past them to get to the grocery store.
This location has been a burden on the neighborhood since Public Storage acquired it last December.
I've spoken to the manager and I've called the corporate office, and only been able to speak to representatives that don't have the authority to speak on it. They've been unable to direct me to somebody who can.
At this point, the neighbors and I have resigned to submitting code violation complaints to the city to have the snow, ice, and weeds removed. The city will resolve the issue at this location.

Recently was taken over by Public Storage. They did not notify tenants within a decent amount of time (2 weeks after taking over). Payment was setup for autopay but because PS took over the original company, payment never came out, and even though we never agreed to, nor signed a lease with PS, as well as have a letter from them that we didn't receive until the end of December (after Christmas), they are trying to say our 82.55 payment was due back in Dec. still. Even though we have a letter saying that our first payment would be moved to the 1st of Feb. they are still trying to say we owe them almost $500, late fees, etc. even though we already removed all of our items from our unit they are still sending us lien notices....um, good luck making any money off of a unit that has NOTHING in it. Not to mention, the whole reason we selected the facility we chose to begin with was for 24 hour access b/c I'm disabled so cannot be lifting things and my husband works odd hours. Public Storage took over and WITHOUT NOTICE, 24 hour access was taken away immediately. Horrible, horrible, storage company! The fine print in their contract (which we NEVER signed or gave them permission to alter our contract signed with the previous company, like they did) says not to store anything valuable (then what's the point of having a storage then?) And what their insurance actually covers, and the amount of what it doesn't cover is freaking bogus. STAY AWAY from Public Storage, this company is nothing but a corporate con artist that likes to screw their tenants over. If you really need a good Storage place in the area of Colorado Springs, then go to StorQuest in Fountain and talk to Justin. We got a unit twice as big for the same price, also climate controlled, less shady, with an actual security gate, and not wooden stick like PS, and it has 24 hour access. Plus the additional perk of customer service being available 24/7 should something happen during closed hours of the office should you need help with anything. They even have someone who is on call that could come to the property if what you need help with requires such assistance. Just stay away from Public Storage.....worst Storage company ever.

Just started renting a storage space here a little over a week ago. So far it's been exactly what I expected. We dealt with Brandi while signing up and she was great. She's very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about not just the unit but the area as well.
Read the contract. These people are predators and push you to not read what you're signing. Don't do business with them, they are already overpriced anyway, and they make themselves unbearable in the expenses after a time.
The Store Manager, Brandi, was a delight to work with. The paperwork process was uneventful. Only downside was that the paperwork seemed endless. I could have grown a beard before the initialing or signing documents was finished. But that is business. Our conversations got us both laughing - it was a cool experience from start to finish.
Our experience at Security Self Storage was absolutely wonderful! Brandi, the manager, made sure we were completely taken care of. I knew what we stored was secure. This is my best experience yet with a self storage place. And…it is so clean! Security Self Storage feels safe too. Thank you!

Great people, good prices, however in the summer months there were black widows in my unit. It is Colorado and they are native so it wasn’t a huge deal.
