I am writing to express my serious concern regarding a storage unit I purchased through your auction website for resale. While I understand the inherent risks involved in buying liened units, this particular situation was exceptionally problematic. Upon entering the 10x30 outdoor unit, I immediately noticed a strong smell of mold and rust. It became clear that the unit had been significantly flooded, with water marks indicating the water level had reached knee-high at one point. I was informed by a storage employee, as well as several other individuals, that this flooding was a known issue. Many items that appeared new and unopened were completely destroyed by water damage. Despite the extensive damage, I proceeded to empty the unit. Between the labor, the unit bid, and dump fees, this became a very costly endeavor. It appears the original owner may have been attempting to seek compensation for the water damage for months, a fact that seemed to be common knowledge among the storage facility staff. When those attempts ceased and payments stopped, the unit was listed for auction without any disclosure of the severe water damage in the description. Furthermore, I discovered a hole in the back of the unit that allowed sunlight to pass through. Given the unit's location directly under a hill, it seems probable that water regularly entered the unit during rain. The fact that this damage was not repaired and the unit was still listed for auction, despite its known condition, is unprofessional and deceptive. I have been attempting to contact the storage facility for the past two weeks, and although the manager eventually called me, I have yet to receive a clear explanation or resolution. I urge buyers to exercise extreme caution with outdoor units, especially those located in the back under the hill, and to be aware of the practices of this particular storage facility.

Horrible! Prices raise dramatically every six months and no one is ever on the office and they never return calls.

For better or worse,I have had MANY storage units over the years. This Public Storage facility on route 6 in Mahopac is heads above all the rest! Erica has a great smile and was super friendly and helpful.

Public is not what it used to be. All they care about is the mighty dollar. Not their customers or their employees. They rope you in with temporary lower rates and jack you up quickly! I'm not speaking of their promotional free month specials, I'm speaking of the monthly rates. You move in and 2-3 months later they raise it, after you moved all your stuff in. Then they raise again, and again, and again......until you move out! Sell your stock if you have it!

This place is fantastic, it's clean and organized. And the manager, Angela did an excellent job to accommodate us. I highly recommend this storage facility.

John went above and beyond to help me last minute when I arrived and the movers said the 10 x 10 unit would be too small. It was two minutes before closing but he was able to find a larger unit that wasn’t available on the website and book it in under five minutes to save the day. Thanks again, John!

Do not go further looking for the best storage facility around. Public Storage in Mahopac NY is the best of the best. They helped us out with a complicated situation and what a pleasure to deal with. From Management to Customer Service, I would never ever go anywhere else. Thank you Mahopac Public Storage. You rock!!!!!!!

I'm not thrilled about the price increase but the facility is clean and easily accessible. The staff on site (John & Nick) are very friendly and helpful.

Constant security checks are done. The location is very technically beneficial with an app for access 24 X 7. I highly recommend John and this company and location
