Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 2801 K Ave, Plano, TX

i reserved a unit here and immediately regretted it. The unit I was shown was in terrible shape with spiders, insects, water damage, and a ceiling that looked like it had been falling apart for a long time. The whole space felt unsafe and completely neglected. I never used the unit, yet they still charged me forty dollars. I reached out the same day and asked for a reversal, and after four separate complaints I still have not received my money back. The whole experience has been frustrating from start to finish. I would genuinely encourage anyone considering this place to look elsewhere before trusting them with your belongings or your money.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! kristie is amazing she took control of this situation and made it right . she recognized me as a good customer and that means the most so thank you kristie i extremely disappointed. unfortunately the way i get paid i cant make the storage payment till my check on the 24th. ask somebody after 6 months of making the payment on the 21-24 and every month i pay all the fees and never say anything . i ask if i could some how adjust my payment date they said no . so another 10 months go by and i continue tho pay it exactly the same way my rent is 162.00 and i pay 282.00 becsuse of the fees and never complain . that’s just the way it is . till this month i paid the 282.00 like always but then i get a letter saying i owe them 296 .00 or tgey auction my stuff on the 24th. the math doesn’t even add up . abd by paying all the fees brings me current every month . then tomorrow they tack on fees and it will be 340.00 how is this even fair . they have made a extra 120 from me every month for over a year . they should love me . i always pay , i’m never there , i don’t complain and they make a extra 1500.00 a yr from me . i’m not even complaining about that it’s the fact they are double charging me on fees i’ve already paid and lien on my unit when i’m current because nov grace period with no fees is today .

MAY 3, 2025. I have been a long time customer of Public Storage for many years at different locations. I met Kristie Oct. 5, 2024. She is very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I know some places only have the self-serve kiosks. I prefer to pay in person to a human being, and get a confirmation receipt printed out. Kristie processed my payment today, and answered some questions I had. Thank you very much for everything you do. Great customer service!

I shopped around at a few storage centers and decided on this one (2801 K Ave). Kristie is friendly and helpful, making the process of renting a unit easy. I appreciated how clean and well-maintained the facility was. I feel safe leaving my things there since they have good security measures in place. I definitely recommend checking this one out. Hey I have been using the facility for over a year Kim the manager has been polite and respectful. If I wasn’t moving I would keep my stuff here longer. I strongly recommend this location!!!

Storage unit got broken into twice. Hardly ever see an actual attendant there, come to find out shifts are usually 4-6 hrs only meaning majority of the day unsupervised. Door to the climate controlled units upstairs doesn’t shut all the way meaning someone can just try the door and get in. Cameras are in that area but multiple blind spots plus second door to area on opposite side has no handle on outside but can still be opened internally. The second time unit was broken into they stole about 4K-5K in jewelry, thought it’d be okay since I had insurance; however what they say when offering said insurance is that it covers anything stolen that was in unit though fine print says jewelry, watches and things of that nature aren’t included only house wares. So now I’m screwed and can’t get back family heirlooms plus still have to pay for unit that anyone can get into apparently. Save your time, money and heartache and go somewhere with better security and personnel present at all times

The property manager at the nearby location (Kimberly) was very helpful getting us all moved in. The location was convenient and we got everything moved in quickly and with no issues.

I would like to express my gratefulness to Trish that works at 2200 Avenue k location and Kim at 8201 Avenue k for going above and beyond to help fix a dilemma regarding a rental space. Both ladies were very polite and knowledgeable. I haven't had that good of customer service in long time. It's nice to know that there are still some exceptional customer service representatives out there. Again, can't express my thankfulness to them!! Hopefully they move up in your company because they know how to get the job done!!! 10 stars each!!!

There are no people at this location. Only a computer to process your payments you have to drive to other locations to complete payments or to get access to the building. Plus, they never pick up the phone if you call. Worse place ever. Definitely not recommend

Unable to get all my units under one acct number so I can manage my acct info. As a result no one is able to change my address on one unit. Was given a $25 credit, but no assistance with problem. Regretting my choice in Public Storage.

A mixed bag: the staff is helpful and the grounds are clean. But within six months of rental, OUR RENT WAS INCREASED BY ALMOST 30%, without even a notice. We moved out!

Great place to storage

IF I COULD GIVE THIS COMPANY ZERO stars I would- What is point of paying for a parking spot to keep a trailer at just to have it stolen? Not a single person works at this location now just a computer stand, if you leave a VM and MIGHT get a return call and to be on hold over 45min with the line provided, with zero resolution. Only informed that our trailer was stolen from the tow company billing us daily to keep it there on top of the public storage fee paid- I NEED SOMEONE FROM CORPORATE TO CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY before we send this to legal.

I am so frustrated with this place. I purchased a storage unit last week and could not get into it because the latch does not open. I called the property management immediately afterward and left a message. Its a week later and I still cannot access my storage unit and have heard nothing back. So I figured I would go on line and see if i could get some help. The chat folks gave me a number to a different property manager who didn't answer. Then I tried to cancel and just get my money back and the Chat people told me I needed to talk to the property manager about this and they could not do anything. But they did manage to give me another phone number to an answering machine. I feel trapped and this company is doing nothing to help me in any way shape or form. if I don't get a phone call back I guess I am just out of luck until someone calls. I will never use this place again.
