This Public Storage in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn is located near Route 27, more commonly known as Linden Blvd, and the Belt Parkway along New York City's Jamaica Bay. It's also within two blocks of Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway Station of the BMT and the L train, so catching public transit here is a snap.
Offering more than 1,600 units in a variety of sizes, and featuring both indoor and outdoor, drive-up options, this self storage location in Brooklyn is perfect for everyone from students and young professionals to families. What an outstanding experience by Anniall & Donovan… I had to make a last minute reservation for a large storage unit and Anniall walked me through every step of the way… Even assisting me to complete the rental agreement through my phone.. for some reason I little to no reception and went outside to complete the documents… Anniall waited with me outside despite the cold temperature and showed me how to access the gate.. Such a gem and stellar customer service…The manager Donovan was also very attentive and helpful assisting us… truly grateful and highly recommend this location!

I wish there was a 0 stars option. This is the worst storage facility I have ever stored with. The staff were unhelpful and rude. Me and my mom were stuck in an elevator for an hour waiting to be helped by staff only to find out the elevator phone didn't work an they were fully aware it needed to bed fixed. We also waited an hour to get my drivers license back from the front desk, when a worker clearly saw us and was ignoring us. The property manager is unresponsive so if you want to get answers don't expect any. They also falsely charged us for a unit we never used or look at. DO NOT STORE HERE. Your life will be a living hell.

OMG!!There are rude ladies that work there. Very unprofessional at this location. But thanks to the ALMIGHTY above I went to PRIME Storage down the block. Easy going and the workers at PRIME STORAGE was very kind and PLEASANT.
There is no light in my space so it's quite an inconvenience to me when the automated lights in the hallway doesn't work. I understand that it's a space that has many different individuals items but the rodent problem is atrocious. With all the money that is being paid I expected better coverage for my items. Now I have to consider the disposal of some items.

To all and sundry BEAWARE! Stay away!Not only will you be verbally abused by staff, you will be gaslit to make things seem like it’s your fault. Our unit was broken into all tools for work stolen! We have no tools for work!! No one contacted us No one has answers This emotional trauma is life altering! The claims of 24hours security and monitoring are bogus’ The manager Donavan know more than he pretends not to. He was able to give the police footage of only the entrance of the facility but non in front of the actually unit. He will say someone is reviewing the footage but in actuality it wasn’t been done. If you use this facility you are risking serious damage to your mental health!
I was satisfiying with this public storage but they forced us to pay for the month that we are not using, also with extra money. I will never recommend it to anybody.

It was my first time renting a storage unit. The lady who helped me seemed like she did not want to be there. Nevertheless, she showed me the storage space and as we were walking out, she held one of the heavy metal doors for the "both of us". I'm saying for the "both of us" because it really seemed like she held it mainly for herself. And my ankle painfully got caught under it as it slammed shut. Then, without any apology or acknowledgement of what happened and the excruciating pain I was in she hastily asked me to fill out the paperwork. I limped back and forth just to put my stuff in storage. Honestly, a little kindness goes a long way. There was no need to rush like that since no other customers were present. I even asked for an ice (or anything) to which she replied she didn't have anything to help. I will never be renting a storage unit from this place again.

In the late spring I was looking for a storage unit and I found this one for a good deal. This storage facility it’s a bit tricky since looks clean and great prices. The only reason that I give them 2 stars is because no one has broken in to my storage. Otherwise I would give it 0 stars. The management once I mentioned that I had a mice and rat problem in my storage units he just mentioned that he could put us in a waiting list to get the same size storage unit. Weeks later I received a note from public storage. That my insurance in the units were changed to a one that don’t cover varmit pest. So I didn’t had a chance to make a claim so my winter looks very cold a north face my Canada goose Jackets went to the garbage and I was left with no winter Jackets it very unfortunately that greed goes over a customer service.

Its horrible rat infested a lot of damage to your belongings no one come to inspect the damages even when informed locks changed without notification had to pay $95 to locksmith then have to buy another lock
Even though the people at the facility are helpful once you have to sign up I will never choose public storage again . They false advertise .. so it's not truly a dollar to start.. read the fine print. Also they do not work with you as a customer if you happen to miss a payment .. ESPECIALLY during this time of a pandemic.. there is no understanding or help .. they are quick to auction your things. Never again will I choose them for storage .

My first interaction was with Tatyana over the phone, she was extremely helpful and patience answering all my questions, even called me back to answer a question she wasn't able to answer right away. At the place I had Donovan as my move-in coordinator and he was fantastic. He explained everything in detail and was also very patient. He was tremendously helpful especially because my phone ran out of battery and I couldn't call a cab, the place was about to close but he still took the time to help me getting a taxi. He was a live safer! Security seems solid and you only get in with a code, through the main gate and to the floor where my unit was. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because of other customers, no one was wearing a mask and I witnessed two guys getting very aggressive with the staff, who I have to say handled it perfectly. Again, the staff and location would get 5 star but because of customers there I only give it 4.

Dont store your stuff here i had a horrible experience closes at 6pm they ran me out turn off doors immediately total disregard for social distancing. I asked the young man galij to call the manager several times as his coworkers giggled and mocked me asking each other what manger gonna do. He only called the manager after i told him he was too close.

The location is alright. The people are adequately helpful. My problem is with the company (PS) overall. I don’t like their crooked policy of charging for the entire month despite when you start or end your service. (That’s why I moved my stuff back to uhaul.)

My experience started off a bit rocky because I didn’t realize that the deal I had reserved was for a locker as opposed to a true unit. Yulandah was the one to help me and she was AMAZING. I was working on only 4 hours sleep after driving my things to the city, no food, no coffee. Yulandah was patient and helpful to explain how she would transfer the rental unit to one that would work for me. She understood my frustration and I owned that it was my error. I’m the end, I have a unit big enough for all my things and no stress so I can take care of my business until I need to move things out of storage. Thank you Yulandah!!! You deserve all recognition for taking care of things without being unpleasant.

AVOID THIS LOCATION! My first time using a storage unit, and i will never ever use one again. My bike was STOLEN out of the storage unit, and I only used it for 1month. Also, my car lock disabled whenever I parked in front of the unit. I tried, locking it with my key, no luck. I tried pressing the lock button on the door, no luck. I had to physically push my locks down in order for my car door to lock. Please be safe! A lot of scam activities occur at this storage unit, and that’s the last thing you would assume since it’s right around the corner from a precinct.
Try to open a unit at this location the manager said they don't take the ID I hv n it's a government Id.i went to a different location n they told me they do take my id.so I went back there the nxt day n the manager put notes in my reservation trying to make it hard for me to get a unit there.

I was trying to talk to the woman located at rockaway avenue site about my unit, and she's not helping me. My unit was supposed to go into auction today at 2pm,. I was getting my sister-n-law to pay it for me. She calls them with my information, they tell her to have me call to discuss payment options. I calls back, she claims I'm not in the system but when I check my account its still there. Then she tells me my unit is already in auction, but I called another public storage and they told me its a process. My children had so much personal things that were close to me and this lady act like I'm nobody. I've always paid on time and I feel used. The lady name is Ashley. Would not recommend Rockaway site at all

But once I entered the store and was fretting by all the employees behind the desk I felt right at home... those guys knows how to treat the customers!!!!!!!!
Don't trust fresh and new fake reviewers ! Here is the feedback on that particular location at 1250 Atlantic Ave. Staff are great but place is grossly mismanaged. Expect a thin metal walls and occasionally locks damaged or braked, for which management will ask you to carry insurance!!! How sick is that!!!Don't rely on prices advertised, because they going to be changed within 3-6 months on 20-30% higher.I moved in less that a year ago and had my rent increased twice. Had to moved out from 10x10 to 5x10 and those people will not leave you alone with peace of mind for upcoming monthly payments.Have another "increase" in less than 4 month from last relocation. Other places offers guarantee for no increase of rent for at least a year, but not this one. If you decide to rent anyway-demand annual contract ! Overall , I'm NOT recommending to rent space in this particular location.

I visisted the property with my mother for questions about het bill. All it took was an email and problemed solved. Very busy and crowded on the weekends. But you can still get what you need completed. Storage personnel are always nearby to assist you. Dolley's and hand trucks are always nearby to assist you with moving your items in or out. Brooms and dust pans are always nearby too. Room inspection and checkout was quickly completed. My family and I left totally satisfied and happy.

I've been utilizing a unit for a few months now, and the service has been very subpar, thus far. Communication between management and customer has been poor, nothing as advertised, prior to renting a space. I'm renting and storing valuable items in a unit, one day i stopped by my unit, and I find my valuable items covered in a tremendous amount of dust, when I asked the front desk about the large amount of dust, i'm told managment sent an email about informing everyone of construction conducted, an email I never received, weeks later my keys to my unit has been changed without my knowledge and again front desk knows nothing, and says I was suppose to receive an email informing me of locks being changed, and again no email informing me of any such thing. As I was going through my unit last week, I brushed the hand across my unit and, my finger was sliced, causing a laceration on my index finger, apparently whatever was done to my unit without my knowledge, the job was poorly done, and now my unit is very hazardous. Under a year and yet a handful of issues already. Looking for quality service you won't find it here.

My husband & I rented our storage unit in 2015. Has been paying $300+ on time every month. We went to check on our unit last week Sept 8th. Every thing was rat bitten, rat bitten, rat bitten, huge rat feces littered our entire unit. We asked that management have someone clean out our unit & close our account. We are going around in a circle trying to get help. We were told that the management will not send someone to clean out our unit. We have to go in there ourselves, where the rats are, & clean it out. The supervisor was hardly helpful. He told us to file an insurance claim. He said there are dumpsters at the storage site that he will allow us to use as a courtesy, but we have to go into that rat infested unit and move our stuff by Sept 30th. Its obvious that this facility does not employ the services of an exterminator. This experience has left us disgusted beyond disgusted! I will advise anyone...do not use this public storage!

Terrible and dirty. Bird poo and mice traps everywhere. Not enough space to get your furniture to the elevator. The hall ways are small. Very tight. Girls are always talking and not very friendly or helpful.
Went in about 3 months ago because my family and I were in a need of a storage unit fast but we wanted something affordable. They help us out with everything they even made us laugh as well especially being that it was a bad day for my family and I. While helping they gave us tips on what to do to keep our stuff safe and not getting damaged. Every time I stop by they are always smiling and nice. Great staff

I came there a few months ago and she made it so easy for me .. never had a issue and she does a very great job in my eyes. Whenever I'm there.. I always see her greet the customers.. any questions that the customers has Tracie is able to give us the information we need. Tracie keeps a level head when dealing with difficult customers.. she don't lose her cool .. and she still keeps it professional... trust me I seen people getting reckless and she still manage to get the job done and keep calm. Moving is frikkin' stressful! I walked in to this location and I was already irritated, but Tracie and Keyanna were so cool man. They were calm and explained everything clearly with out being condescending. I was so appreciative. My girlfriend Ashly and I still talk about it. So here's my shout out! Impeccable service. Also.. as far as the facilities are concerned, we got an adequate space for the belongs, there was no occurrence of mold or bugs, and we were provided with the dollies that we needed to move things in and out of the location. The price I think was great but it was only for a month which is really all the time that we needed.

I decided to move to Texas and visited the public storage up the block from my apartment. I have visited the location about 5 times bc I didn't know how many boxes I actually needed. The staff was very nice and helpful with disclosing the deals they had on buying boxes in bulk. However, each time I visited they were nothing short of respectable and professional. Very nice!!!

I really wish I could give zero stars. Firstly they don't tell you about raising your rates every 6 months, and their excuse is property taxes go up so your bill goes up without any notice. My bill was raised twice, how is such a practice legal? I read the reviews but I was in such a bind and I believed I'll need my stuff within the year. Anyways BUYERS BEWARE!!! You've been warned.
