I called today and spoke with Keli who promptly answered all of my questions regarding a storage unit. Keli helped me to feel really comfortable with this storage unit as I have had so many other poor experiences at other places. As soon as she answered the phone she was ready to assist me and answered all of my questions. When you call, ask for Keli! She is such a great help!

It’s 1:41 pm Thursday and no one’s here I’ve been coming up there for the past 3 days now and nobody is here when I come to the storage me and others sat in the parking lot for over 20 minutes and customers service doesn’t seem to be helpful at all

I attempted to access my storage unit at Public Storage on 5180 Dort Hwy on Friday at 4 p.m., but the gate would not open. I tried both entering my access code and using the app, but while the system would acknowledge me, the gate simply would not budge.
To make matters worse, there was no staff on-site, and when I called the listed phone number, I was routed to a call center in the Philippines, where I was told that the gate was broken again and that the owner had already left for the day at 1 p.m.—meaning I was out of luck until Monday.
The main gate has a large sign stating operating hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., yet I was locked out at 4 p.m. on a Friday with no way to access my unit. If the facility can’t honor its posted hours, they should at least notify customers when there are access issues.
How is this acceptable for a business that people rely on for secure and timely access to their belongings? A storage facility should prioritize reliable access and customer support, but this location seems to fail at both.
Would not recommend unless you’re okay with being locked out of your own unit without notice or assistance.
This is by far the worst place to consider storing your belongings. There is no staff there at all to stop anyone from stealing your things, it's very easy to look into other storage units so people can be nosey and look through your things even if locked. No cameras inside the building to help protect people's belongings. Every time I called when tried getting my things, they were very very rude and unprofessional people when you could actually get ahold of someone. The will spin you around and around but they will not help you. They just want one thing, money. IF YOU COME HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT! THEY ALSO CHANGE THEYRE PRICES NON STOP SO YOU WILL NOT BE PAYING WHAT YOU AGREED TO IN THE BEGINNING. This happens to every customer that comes here!

Yesterday (1/4/2025) I stopped by my Public Storage to get a print out showing that I paid this month storage unit since I didn't get an email but the public storage app showed I paid and the next bill reflects February 1, 2025.
The PS Staff Employee "Editha" assisted me and printed out the receipt showing they received my January 2025 payment along with my confirmation number.
I must thank the owner/manager at the Flint, Michigan on Dort Highway Public Storage for hiring "Editha" for this position.
She was very Professional and knows her job, she's kind and helped me with what I needed. She smiled as I entered the office area and that made my day. 😊

Erica was wonderful in the process to rent my unit. Facility is nice, clean, well lit and love the app for convenience.
Customer service did refund the admin fee after I cancelled on the original phone request… Signed up for storage only to find out they are not 24/7 access. If you cancel they will keep an administration fee. Literally on the phone they are professional but Beware you won’t get the admin fee back normally.

They do not care about the customers. I’m paying nearly $200 a month for a weathered unit just to have all my things be ruined by water getting in. All my kids things have black mold on them. I called And didn’t get in. I’m sorry didn’t ask what unit said. I can’t use their dumpster for my large items. I needed to figure it out myself and take it up with insurance. Anytime you actually tried to go to the office there’s nobody working, the doors locked, The gate has been open several times just letting anybody in. The list goes on. If you’re looking for your items to be stored in a safe place, don’t even consider this place.

Hi everyone I suggest never use public storage the do not care for the customer they only care for the money It's been 3 months since I had light in my Unit they said I don't need lights just pay for the space and not for the light they don't care to fix it And every 2 months it changed the price 30 now $50 higher than when I started.
Great place great people just a messed up company your payments are due on the 1st that's okay but when you make a payment on the first and move it out on the 6th you still have 23 to 24 days left you're not getting no money back just accept it cuz that's the way they are

Great Experience! At dort hwy public storage, the lady was very sweet and offered to show me the space I’d be renting. She was very informative and the process was easy peasy!
I am very disappointed with Public Storage. I went to my unit last night at 8 o’clock came back at 9 o’clock. The Kia said see manager, so I was unable to get into my storage unit to move into my home las. Our bill is paid Iand it was the 1st of August . So I was unable to move in with my belongings .the kiosk said “Store closed, see manager” I’m waiting. For them to open to rectify the situation. My frustration is immeasurable!!

I'm very disappointed with this Public Storage. I was a Public Storage Customer in California and Florida and always had a small unit and got the First Month "FREE" and I'm here in Michigan and was told my First Month is not Free though their Website shows " FIRST MONTH FREE" and YOU ARE FORCED to sign up for their Insurance if you don't have Insurance.
There is a waiver that you can sign declining their Orange Door Insurance yet they fail to tell you that. It's all about making money.
In the past I've always referred people to Public Storage for their storing needs but will not refer anyone at this site due to false advertisement and forcing people to buy their insurance.
Enough said.
