Rakita has been very sweet and helpful both times I have spoken to her. But the office is staffed less than half the times I was here during business hours. I got a storage unit in the upper level and it gets very hot and humid during the summer. On the other hand, it is relatively decent over the winter. Plus, as with other storage spaces, they will increase the prices after a few months and again every few months after that. If I were to do it again, I would rent a spot for the non-summer months if possible.

My friend needed to find and use a storage unit within 24 hours. she was moving from a house to a small apartment and all the things she had left to move (by professional movers) wouldn’t fit in the apartment. Public Storage was very helpful. everything has gone very well the past six months, and now we are slowly getting her things moved out. The space is nice and temperature controlled as we sit in there and get things sorted.

This was my first experience using a storage facility or should I say inquiring about it. The staff there is great and very helpful. Don’t be to go to them with a problem. I was having a cash flow issue sometime back and the staff was really good about it which is not what I expected. One of them gently reprimanded me by encouraging me to communicate with them more. Great point!

I’m giving 4 stars because I needed last minute storage and I wasn’t familiar with the process. So I called first and spoke with a Miss Rickeda. She answered every question I had with clarity. So I decided to move forward with the process. I came to the location and I doubled checked some of the questions I had already asked and she politely answered them again. Outside of Miss Rickeda pleasant demeanor and amazing customer service I noticed the cleanliness of the facility and the unit I used. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the location isn’t the best especially because of the lack of parking. If and when the time come again I will be using this location again based of my experience.

This location did a bait and switch as well as charged me 2 late fees in a 2 weeks period for a 5x5 unit. I have been unsuccessful in reaching the property manager who has yet to return my calls. As a result, I was obligated to address my concerns to an incompetent and contradicting associate who wasn’t interested in rectifying the issue even after I presented him with an email confirmation supporting my claim. The associate was very condescending and dismissive.

FRAUD Alert!!! I cleared out my unit, they told me I had settled the bill and then immediately (7 days later) sent a bill to a debt collector for $247 but then notified me through the debt collector that they would be willing to settle for half that amount. I had auto pay set up on the account to cover all the bills. If it had been a legit claim they could have put it on my monthly statement. I never received any notification of this bill or what it is for. This is a completely unacceptable business practice.

This place has recently changed management. I have been a customer here for over three years. Until the new management took over the best thing that I could say is that my stuff was still there every time I visited. The new manager is actually focused on customer service and is usually on site. Its not cheap but it isn't as painful now that the manager actually cares if you are happy.

Ms Rickeda was so helpful, informative, and professional. I really, truly enjoyed my experience with that young lady. Please, if there was raise in pay, she needs. Thank you Rickeda, again. 🙂

The online registration & payment process was very easy, and when we arrived, Rafael, at the front desk was very helpful. He explained how to use the access keypad, showed us where our unit was located & how to lock and unlock the unit. The unit itself was clean and bright, and the perfect size for all of our belongings. Thanks again, to Rafael for everything! I highly recommend this location.

BEWARE!! RESERVATIONS ARE VIRTUALLY MEANINGLESS!! I have been a Public Storage customer for 16 years (huge mistake!). I recently made a reservation for a storage unit at their Bethesda, MD location as part of my relocation from Atlanta to DC. I reserved the unit several weeks prior to my move. The local personnel at the facility called me several times prior to my move in date of July 16 to confirm and reconfirm that I still wanted the unit. I always spoke to them confirming I still wanted it. We agreed that I would stop by the day before my move in date to sign the paperwork. On July 15th I get a call from the site manager, Rafael, asking me if a I still wanted the unit. I responded “yes”. He said well we don’t have the unit, we rented it to someone else. I was shocked to say the least. My movers were arriving the next day and I no longer had a place to store my belongings. How could this happen? Rafael provided a couple of different explanations. First, I was told that a new employee had rented it to a walk-in customer and did not check first to see if the unit had previously been reserved. I blamed this mistake on Rafael’s inadequate training of his new employee. After I suggested that he should have better trained the employee Rafael told me that actually reservations don’t reserve the unit, only the price. So think this through. I have a reserved price of around $300 per month but no storage unit. How does that make any sense? What good is a guaranteed price without a storage unit. He tried to point this out to me in their fine print but it was totally irrelevant. Then he blamed it on the company policy to ignore reservations. After clearly seeing I couldn’t get anywhere that made sense with Rafael, he referred me to the district manager, Ehdaa Musaitif. I called Ms. Musaitif and left a voicemail to please call me. It’s been several days and I have not received a response from her. I had reserved a 10 x 20 unit. Rafael said he did have a 10x10 unit he could rent me for the same price as the 10 x 20 unit. I guess this is where the guaranteed price comes in. You can rent a much smaller unit for the price of the larger unit you thought you had reserved. In the end I decided to rent from Cube Smart. They have great reviews and their pricing was better than Public Storage. Of course most companies have good reviews so long as everything goes well. It’s when there’s a problem that you get to truly see the real culture of a company. In the case of Public Storage, it’s not one that I’ll ever do business with again. I just don’t trust them.

Changing my 5 start review to 1 star review after 2 years of storage Mice turned my storage unit into a weekend spa for their friends and family. Urine and feces EVERYWHERE. All of my things that weren't in boxes were ruined including a beautiful couch, a custom-made $800 west elm chair, a queen mattress and box spring, ... the list goes on. Public storage couldn't have cared less. I had their "insurance" but as others have stated, they only payback $250... a joke. Worst experience ever. This location should be shut down for public health and safety violations. Super convenient, clean, & secure, plus friendly and helpful staff! I did a 6month cost analysis for 30+ storage units around DC and the deal I got here was the best out of all others.

What a bargain! Prices have gone WAY down lately, and Ralph (a.k.a. "Raphael") was super helpful! My only regret is that I can't give ten out of ten! Five "outta" five will have to do!

I am using the storage to store some boxes as I move from out of state, and find an apartment. Rafael's service was exelent. He took me to the unit prior to signing my contract and made sure that I had enough space in the ordered unit, that the lock was working fine, and that the unit was clean and ready for use. Cheaper that extra storage and bigger

The place is OK. They really try to sell you their products, which is annoying. Also, the office is closed very frequently (or at least the front desk guy isn't in there), which means no dolly is out - frustrating.

I have been using this storage facility for 3+ years, and highly recommend it. I recently lost my locker key, and Raphael, the site manager, and Taha were able to assist in the quick and safe removal of the existing lock and relocking of my unit. Couldn’t ask for a more helpful and resourceful staff.

Been storing at this place for years. Always liked it here. They recently remodeled and painted it, looks great. Can't be more pleased with them.

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! It is filthy and rodent infested!! My stuff was destroyed by a rodent infestation. I lost over $2000 of my stuff. It was heartbreaking to have to dispose of my 3 year old daughters gently used things as I was saving them for my next child. Chicco car seat, Uppa Baby Vista Bassinet, Ergo Baby Carrier, Pack and Play, Puzzle Mats, BoConcept Dining Room chairs, speakers and other things. I was convinced that a huge and power company like Public Storage would have some honor and decency and cover the expenses of just replacing the things lost. This is not too much to ask considering they make millions! $2000 is peanuts to them! Public Storage did not. They said they do not cover vermin and so too bad. They said they will only do a payout of $250 which is an absolute joke adding insult to injury. I then personally wrote to Debra Wright (Communications Director), John Reyes (VP and CFO), Joseph Russel (President), Ronald Havner (CEO) pleading to please just help me replace my daughters things. I finally managed to reach Mrs. Wright over the telephone and she said the same thing that nothing can be done. Can you imagine? These executives have no shame. I now rent at Cube Smart and seriously it is great! Their facilities are spotless and so I am confident my stuff is safe! Please DO NOT RENT here as your stuff will be DESTROYED!

I had a great experience here. I pulled in with my giant truck and I was grateful when the manager was helpful about parking it and how best to access the unit I'd rented. I also bought some supplies, and was easily able to return the mattress covers I'd bought but ended up not needing ... if you're considering this place, go for it!

I had my storage area for 3 months. Very clean, easy move-in and easy move-out. The staff was great! They were courteous and very helpful. I would use them again.

My vehicle broke down in Bethesda MD and not even being a customer Nick at Public Storage assisted me. Over 2 hours I waited for a tow truck and he gave me access to charge my phone, a bathroom and was truely helpful on a difficult day. Thank you. I will recommend Public Storage from now on to anyone I know.

I have had a excellent experience with public storage. Their storage is very clean and always secure. The manager who runs it Rafael is very nice and professional with his approach. I will definitely be using public storage in the future.

We are customers at the Wise Ave location. I like the convenience of the location and the fact that they worked with me when they over booked rental units. My only complaint is they do not have the extended access hours that other locations have. It’s hard to make it there by 5:00 and 6:00 with working. Other locations have access hours til 9:00.

I have never seen a place that could careless about there customers. Ants are crawling all over my stuff from a crack in the foundation and not one person with this company would help us. My stuff is covered in ants and I have not one to help. DO NOT PUT YOUR THINGS HERE. They adjust the prices and are less then helpful. Worst company ever.

The fact that an employee told me they are too busy to call customers back is complete bull crap. I have been a good paying customer since Jan 22 and my rent went up July 1 with only being notified June 13 is also crap. Then I'm told the original person that I signed up with that told me my increase would be no more then $10 is also a lie. It went up from $183 to $216. The general manager is also a joke. Still waiting for a return call from him. I am looking elsewhere for storage now and WIll NOT PROMOTE them for free anymore.

I utilized the storage for four months earlier this year. Christy the property manager was professional and very helpful throughout the entire process. The location is easy to get to and the facility is clean. I would recommend this location.

Christy was incredibly helpful and very responsive. I ended up using a different location, and she transferred my reservation with detailed notes to make sure I'd be well taken care of.

I recently moved my things into the Public Storage in Bethesda, and Christy made the transition so easy and smooth. She was able to complete my reservation while helping my movers to get on the elevator to move my things in. She was so helpful and friendly, and I wouldn't have been able to do this without her.

I'm in the middle of moving to the DC area and needed a quick place to store stuff as I shuttle back and forth to home. I was able to catch an early flight home because Christy at this site was helpful and efficient. Good customer service is rare in this world. Thankfully I found it here.

So my parents have decided to sell the house and I needed to get all of my extra things out of the house and put them in storage, I have never been to a storage facilty before so I had no clue of what to do...I was greeted by a warm smile from one of your employees at this location named Christy, she was amazing and extremly helpful to me, espicially considering it was my first time doing something like this...she went above and beyond to help me and exemplified first class service, it was such a breath of fresh air to receive this, considering how most companies nowadays get comfortable and forget that great customer service is one of the major keys to the success of any business...If I owned this company, people like Christy deserve to be in management, because they actually get what it takes to make customers want to continue to use your services.

Francis was quick to get rental paper work done and helpful with my questions. Great location, clean and I like being able to unload under a covered area but wish with dollies were more accessible outside of office hours. Other than that, I was very pleased with my experience. My check out was very efficient as I closed out my storage unit. Christie, Francis and Katie always were pleasant and professional. Renting a unit from them was a good experience for me.

The girl who works there is super helpful and totally personable! I have had nothing but positive experiences every time I've gone to my unit! Christy is always cheerful and professional even in the middle of a snow storm! I feel safe going to my unit as a single woman and it's always well lit and maintained!

If you are a college student trying to figure out where to store your things for a month or two, then public storage in Bethesda is the place to go. Their prices are reasonable and Christy is amazingly helpful.

Manager Christy was extremely helpful, both on the phone during the reservation process, and with each visit to the facility. The storage space is ideal for our needs and most reasonably priced compared to other storage companies in the vicinity.

Went out to the Butler Road Public Storage facility on the weekend. I was not sure what to expect. I am happy to report that it was a very good experience. Christy helped us and was very friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are very clean and convenient and the entire process: viewing the unit, reviewing and signing the contract, and setting up auto pay took only a few minutes. I highly recommend this Public Storage Butler Road.

Butler Road location is very convenient with easy access covered carport parking for easy moving in and out in the rain and Francis is very knowledgeable and helpful with all storage needs.

I would give this place more stars if it weren't for the consistently bad experiences my fiancée and I had with the guy who works on the weekends - Francis - each and every time we went to our storage unit. I met John today and he is very kind and helpful, and the facilities are nice. They have free dollys you can check out and use and they have a roof over the parking area so you don't have to move in the rain (which came in handy today). However, my fiancée and I dreaded going there and always left in a bad mood because Francis was consistently rude to us, no matter how friendly we were, and not helpful even with the simplest of things. And it wasn't as if we were difficult or needed any extra help with anything. Even the most basic question he would act as if it was a huge inconvenience to him. I would be friendly, smile, say please and thank you, ask him to how his day was going, and even wish him a good day when we left, and he continued to be extremely rude. I have MANY years of customer service experience and he displayed exactly the type of behavior that turns away customers and would get him fired anywhere else. And oddly, I saw him bring quite friendly with another customer, a man... So he's capable, just selective. Again, behavior that turns me off completely. I wonder if his supervisors know because if they did, I would be surprised if the kept him around. Sadly, this is why I had to rate this place so poorly. If you plan on only coming to your unit during the week, then go with this place. But if you plan on coming by during the weekend, I would suggest going somewhere else if you want good service because Francis will give you below the minimum and will be rude to you on top of that. Unfortunately, I would never use this service again.

I used the Butler Road Public Storage from about 2005 to 2008 to store books, mementos, and papers from my law office, until moving the stuff to my home, and was quite pleased with the clean, safe conditions and with Nikki the manager. Thus this July 2015 when I sold the house and needed to re-store the stuff, and lots of other stuff from the house, during the interim to move into a new place, I went right back to the same place, for two-months' storage (I'm in the process of moving it all out now). It was just as clean and convenient and safe as before, and the new manager Francis (Nikki has retired) was prompt, friendly and efficient. The range of packing-supplies on-site is much expanded since 2008 and comes in very handy, and the prices for the stuff are as good as Home Depo. Highly recommended.
