This was my first time renting a storage space and Kevin made it easy and understandable.
I asked for a first floor space instead of the third floor space I rented on-line. There was one available.
Kevin walked with me to the new space and explained everything I needed to know. He gave me his office number if I needed anything in the future.
This was a very positive experience and I'm thankful that Kevin was working today.
Kevin has great customer service, and was very helpful and respectful, the property looked cleaned and safe.

This going on elevator issue since SEPTEMBER 8 2024 DO NOT RENT here the elevators do not work i called hundreds of time to the DISTRICT MANAGER dawn cruz and she only answered only one of my calls called regarding the elevators issue she only said aomeone will come out all the storage renters are all upset saying that the employees are always saying we’ll get it fixed tomorrow. Someone will be here tomorrow never happens. No one shows up. You have to go through the stairs the back stairs the manager does not care. all of the renters are all MAD

You can’t find carts . They do not have help on site after 5pm. The restrooms are locked by 6 pm but they are open until 10 pm . I recommend this place for years but lately I have been very disappointed with to much automation. That does not always work .

Cons: Place has gone downhill since the public storage acquisition. Prices keep going up too. I’d switch storage unit companies if moving a ton of stuff wasn’t such a massive pain.

To have slimmed staff down to a single person), which wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t make it so you needed to sign out carts now. So now I’m standing here outside the front doors hoping anyone is actually employed here so I can move things to my storage unit.
On one occasion I heard screaming from another storage unit and found someone (who was living in their storage unit) accidentally locked themselves inside it. The staff were notified and I assume that person was evicted.
For the pros: place is clean and seemingly well kept, when there is staff, they’ve been nice and accommodating. You need to punch in your code at every entrance/elevator so things feel secure enough.
I came in not knowing what size unit I needed, I was helped by Kevin , he took the time to show me different units, and I was able to get what I needed , he helped me out step by step and I was able to leave as one happy camper ☺️ Thank you Kevin for your patience and help.
I’ve been with simply storage for a few years now and also been here now that it’s public storage and never had and issue with the switch, but this is a review is about DALIA who called me back & was very professional and had positive energy getting my situation resolved which she solved in 5 mins because Kevin who I spoke with days before couldn’t help me and he wasn’t rude but very sarcastic about my situation & we were on the phone going back and forth about it for 26 minutes but thanks to DALIA it was solved in 5 mins & it was so simple.

Just closed my last unit had 3 of them the past 2 years from our move from NV. Public Storage made it easier for us to add more units as we needed, this place is secured and clean with friendly staff. Hopefully won’t need another storage, but if we ever do need one I’ll come back to this place.
They ruined it so fast here..... Public took over and orange paint that's all... Support and staff are gone , no lights on upper floors and elevator broken over a month.... This is a cash cow for public little do they care.... So bad it has become so fast... Warning warning. Warning stay away from this chain and this location ... Really bad situation worse every week

The Laguna Woods Public Storage is the best storage unit I have had! Guy (the property manager) runs a very tight ship!! It's immaculately clean inside & out (including the bathroom)!!!
I got a great deal on a 7'×3' storage unit for only $44 a month. This place is climate controlled, spotless, and the manager (Guy) is a great human being that takes pride in his work and in the property. The apartment we were meant to move into told us that our unit was not ready and that they did not have a place for us to store our belongings so we had to get things figured out. Kudos for the assistance of Alicia and Dalia, ensuring a satisfactory experience and optimal management of our units. The customer service is at the ready to help, with attention to detail!
The building is very well maintained, secure and accessible. The hallways are well lit, with room enough for two carts to pass. There’s restrooms open on the first floor during office hours.
Secure parking for loading is available on the north and south sides of the building, with easy access to the elevators.
Every since public storage has taken over this place SUUUUUUUUUCKS!!!!!!!! I feel like the NEW staff aren't diligent or as hands on and nice as the old staff. Alicia is GREAT & we're glad she's still here. I will and cant wait to leave here! I'm currently sitting In the DARK, ELEVATORS STOPPED WORKING & LIGHTS HAVENT CAME BACK ON!!!!! IM ON THE 3RD FLOOR STUCK. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE PUBLIC STORAGE HAS TAKEN OVER. I already had to address the new staff because they were HERE and still didn't keep up or know what is going on. So now we're all sitting in the dark with all our
stuff in the halls on the 3rd floor!!! And there's NOBODY TO CALL FOR THIS EMERGENCY!!! Can't wait to leave!! Don't waste you're time calling the NON WORKING number on the door!!! Definitely looking into a new storage. This is unsafe and weird that the have no stand by manager or emergency line for help if we need it. Oh and it's flooding outside 🙂 260 and up for this isn't worth it✌🏽
My wife need to leave since new owner Public storage raised rates 30% immediately after acqusition. If Simply Safe can give me an agreement to retain my old price I will happily stay.

Simply Self Storage was great. Went from $90/month to $130 in 18 months. After they got bought, it shot from $100/month to $130 in a new agreement.

Went in to look at a unit vary clean Alicia was amazing and truly helpful.
Storage unit was broken into last year. The chicken wire above (has to be this way for fire safety reasons) does not secure your unit. Lot of druggies wander in, jump up and cut the wire then take their time stealing all of your belongings. If you risk storing anything here, make sure it's nothing valuable. They won't review video footage either.

Simply Self Storage is an amazing storage facility! Everyone in the front office is so helpful and kind. I have three storage units with this facility. They always have great promotions and make sure you get the best deal. The storage units have air conditioning which makes it very comfortable to move things around. They also have carts that tenets are able to use to move their stuff. Best part is that Simply Storage stays open till 10pm their office closes at 6pm, but you’re able to move stuff till 10pm. I’m so happy I came to simply storage my experience here has been nothing but wonderful!

I can’t believe I wasted over 3 years paying the public storage place right down the street from here , i ended up getting not just a bigger storage unit here from what I had but also 45 $ cheaper . I’ve only been here for a few months but I can tell the great vibe that Eduardo and Alicia bring to there customers , love the fact that the every time I’ve been here there has been always a push car for my stuff to take on, bathrooms are always open and it’s very clean inside and outside . This storage stuff in California well they should be ashamed of themselves! And don’t worry simply self storage I will be taking my stuff out soon. This will be the last month. I pay you that ridiculous amount when I know people in other states that pay $50 for a storage bigger than the one I got with you. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Signed up online. Received a call an hour later from a very helpful employee, completed the lease in office with Kat, who was super helpful and pleasant. All in all a very positive experience.
I have had my storage unit only for 6 months and they are already raising my rent by $35. Use caution before renting with them; they'll nickel and dime you to death!
UPDATE = Well, one of my storage units was recently broken into and due to the fact that there is not proper security, or cameras, to help prevent this type of thing then it will just continue. They are too cheap at Simply Self Storage to take real measures. Also, some genius had the idea to screw around with the website functions for customers and now you cannot even complete a simple 'one time payment' of rent without the system trying to make me pay double the monthly rent. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER SOMEBODY!!!!!!!
I love the locks they use as they are flush, so I don't think the locks can be easily cut off. In addition, you can add your own locks for extra security. Security code needs to be entered, getting past the main gate, and again to get inside the building. Very clean! Also, public restrooms are available.

The customer service here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I made my reservation with anlicia and spoke to her on the phone twice and each time and she was super sweet and kind! When I first got there I have to admit I was scared of getting discriminated against because let’s be honest racism against Hispanics is very common. BUT let me tell you Toni made us feel SO WELCOMED!! This staffing NEEDS A RAISE!!! Toni really made me feel so comfortable and like I belonged! I cannot express how much this means to me. Sorry about getting political on a self storage review but I thought this was worth mentioning so that other people who are scared of getting discriminated know that this place is a safe location 💕 also the storage units are very nice and spacious lol

Definite step up from from your no frills industrial cul-de-sac storages that range from one off no name to the more familiar Public Storage's. Clean, thoroughly modern facility with working restroom, very reasonable and generous controlled access hours, and staff that are informed but also so friendly they can't help but each learn your first name eventually.
This facility is absolutely amazing! All of employees go above and beyond in delivering outstanding customer service. They help you find the best unit for your needs and they make sure you are receiving the best price available. Stefani and Toni thank you for all of your hard work you both make this facility a great place to be a customer at! Keep up the great work!

The staff (Andrew and Sarah) at Simply Storage, Orange CA. Provided a great service, a quick tour of the facility, storage options and fair prices. The facility includes, around the clock surveillance, restrooms, hand carts for ease of loading. I would strongly recommend this place for all your storage needs.

The team was very helpful and the building is very secure. I love that the units are climate controlled and that even the elevators require a code to get to your floor. Everything about our experience was wonderful, including the great customer service provided by Alicia!

Edit: After trying out another cheaper storage facility, I'm coming back to hopefully reverse my 10-day clear out notice. There's no wood doors, no exposed wires, no water damage here unlike another Extra Space style storage facility. I had no issues and enjoyed my year long + with Simply Self Storage! And I hope to continue that!
Nothing less than 5 stars. Used them for over a year, never had any issues. Customer service was prompt and responsive. Place was always clean. Would not hesitate to come back!

Alicia and Bob are a great team. They're extremely helpful, very understanding, and extremely patient. But they're more than just that they're communicated they are personable and funny that means a lot when you're storing your personal belongings in a facility. And wow let me tell you about this place. The facility is clean with lots of lighting, there's moving carts available. They even keep the bathrooms open for the tenants which is a huge plus in my book.
Alicia and Bob went out of there way and stayed late to make sure that I could get my unit tonight, and Bob went out of his way to find me a unit closer to the elevator to make it easier for me to move in. I couldn't be more appreciative.
If you're looking for a storage facility that also cares about you. This is the only place to be.

I was shopping around for units and had went to a different storage unit before this and service was good, but Sarah really had a charm that made me be able to decide on the spot I was going to choose them. Pricing was reasonable and I liked that the units are climate control without the overcharge like other places. Would def recommend coming here.
