Moving In
Completing Your Rental Agreement
In Person
Complete your rental agreement in person on move-in day. Keep in mind this may take 15-30 minutes to complete.
Move-In Day
On move-in day, our property manager will show you your unit and get you set up. If you decide you need more (or less) space, we'll be happy to help you find a different unit.
What to Bring
To complete your rental, bring along a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID, military ID or passport. It can also help to bring your reservation confirmation email, but it's not required.
Handcarts and Dollies
To help make loading your unit easier, we offer free handcarts and dollies to move heavier items while you're on the property. Ask your property manager for one on move-in day.
Locks
We use two types of premium-quality locks at Public Storage. Depending on your chosen facility, either a disc-lock or a cylinder-lock specifically designed for your unit can be purchased. You can also bring your own lock of the correct type. Ask your manager which type is needed for your unit.
Insurance
For your benefit and protection, insurance for your stored items is required. A convenient and affordable way to get the insurance coverage you need is through the Orange Door Storage Insurance Program — a customized insurance policy created specifically for Public Storage customers. To learn more, please visit Orange Door Insurance. Your renters or homeowners insurance policy may also provide the coverage you need, so check with your insurance agent.
Purchase InsuranceYour Gate Code
On your first day, you will be provided with a personal gate code that you can use to open the security gate. If you ever forget your gate code, you can find it in your account.
