Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 6855 Hedge Lane Terrace, Shawnee, KS

RUN!!!! If I could give this place a negative star I would. I had a unit set up, and the day we moved realized we needed a bigger unit. We called and they upgraded our size, and the sales person said it was no issue and I would be refunded for the smaller, as we never moved into it yet. I was charged almost 300 dollars for the unit we never moved into, on top of the charges for the unit we actually used. I have never received a refund. The number listed on the website is incorrect, you can’t ever get through to anyone in this actual office, even the phone number on the door won’t get you through!!! On top of that, I have gone to the office multiple times and rarely get anyone. The last time i was there I was able to talk to Nancy, who assured me age would escalate to the owner and I would get either an email or a call that day. No one ever contacted me. Oh and just be aware, you are charged an entire months rent no matter what day you move out of the unit. So despite moving out on the 4th of the month, I had to pay an entire month, on top of again, the almost 300 dollars that I was charged for nothing for. Seriously worst customer service, worst place ever. Do not use a storage unit from here!!!!

I just rented a 10x15 from Kelly in the front office. She was SO helpful, knowledgeable, and most of all, friendly. I am not exactly well-versed in downloading or using apps for stuff like this, but Kelly was SUPER patient with me and explained everything as simply as possible, really making sure I understood how to open the gate with my phone before I left. Excellent customer service! 5 stars for sure!

Move to KC in hurry for my job. This was the first place I found with any open units. The rent was decent at first, but after I believe the 3rd price increase I was late on my payment. After speaking with the manager and explaining I would be making the payment they went ahead and cut my lock well before the legal waiting period of 45 days. I had no idea they even did that until I paid my rent and the outrageous late fee they informed I would need a new lock. After 3 years and paying triple the price I started at I'm done. Found a new place that has a much better contract and price. Sure seems like this place raises your rates to try to get you to not be able to pay just they can auction your stuff off.

I’m just appalled at the customer service and just.. blatant shady business being run in front of your face.. I had to turn off my auto pay with them because they secretly keep raising prices, first it was $30, okay. then they upped it to $20 short of “double my bill” In 4 months! You have to put your foot down with people like this! Shame on you guys! Now I have to find somewhere else!

I rented a parking space at this location for over 4 years. Recently my trailer was broken into. I turned the report into the office. The lady took all of my information down and said I probably wouldn't hear from anyone. She was right nobody contacted me. Then a couple months later my trailer was broken into again stealing the remainder of stuff they didn't steal the first time. Once again I reported to management and did not hear from anyone. They do not value their customers at all. I would give this location zero stars if I could.

Don’t waste time and money on this place. They’ll raise your rent by double and keep raising. Also when you want to “move out” do it before they bill you cause you won’t get ANY money back. NEVER use this SCAM storage place.

Very smooth process, and worked a very personable and friendly employee.

They are not honest about how much they are going to charge. Then they charge more a few days later. On the app it said $30 under payment then they wanted another $13. But they charged my account $51.

Nancy is an Angel, I would recommend this location to anyone. And working so hard on a Sunday! They are so lucky to have you ❤️

Alexis was very helpful getting me set up with a storage unit, and Brandon was awesome for telling me about the special! Both were helpful getting the special promotion to work when it was not working quite right online.

Staff is amazing! Very polite & helpful. The gentleman who helped get us all setup with our first storage unit is what made us come back. The roads in the storage facility have a steep slop for drainage so your unit shouldn't flood but does make getting heavy or large items transferred into the unit a little challenging. But once you know you make the needed adjustments & plan ahead for the next time.
