How to Maximize Your Storage Space

Get the most out of your storage space by following these simple storage tips.

Self Storage Cost

Storage unit prices can vary based on the location and the unit features you need. Search for units online to find the best prices in your area. We also offer move-in specials for the first month's rent on many units.

Moving Out

When it's time to move on, let us know by scheduling your move-out date up to 60 days in advance in the Storage Units section of your account. If you need more time, it's easy to change or cancel your notice. On move-out day, remove your lock, empty out your unit and stop by the office so a property manager can help you finalize everything.

Handcarts and Dollies

To help make loading your unit easier, we offer free handcarts and dollies to move heavier items while you're on the property. Ask your property manager for one on move-in day.

Vehicle Storage Features

If you're storing a vehicle, you have a few different options.

Uncovered Units

Uncovered spaces are great if you just need to get your vehicle off the street or out of the driveway.

Covered Units

Covered spaces have a protective overhang that offers additional protection from the elements.

Enclosed Units

Enclosed spaces are completely surrounded by walls and a ceiling, and are ideal if you need long-term vehicle storage.

Changing Your Reservation

If you need to change your reservation for any reason, log in to your reservation and let us know what you need to change.

Administrative Fee

A small one-time administrative fee is added to the first month's payment to cover the cost of setting up your account and processing your rental agreement.

Locks

We use two types of premium-quality locks at Public Storage. Depending on your chosen facility, either a disc-lock or a cylinder-lock specifically designed for your unit can be purchased. You can also bring your own lock of the correct type. Ask your manager which type is needed for your unit.

Deliveries

Our property managers aren't able to accept deliveries on your behalf. You're welcome to have something delivered to your unit, but you'll need to be there to accept the delivery.
